win7 pro 64 bit. Windows says to repair/update. tried to repair. got file not found 2/3 through. a data1.cab file

If the repair fails, your only choice may be to unregister and uninstall, then reinstall. Before you reinstall, be sure ALL parts of the Acrobat folder have been removed and you have run a registry cleaner, either the one from MS if you can find it or CCleaner. Then do the reinstall, followed by ALL updates done in order.

I've been using Acrobat Pro XI from last one month. Recently Adobe introduced a patch release of 11.0.05 for Acrobat XI. When I try to install this upgrade, am getting stuck at the following screen:

The latest is 11.0.06. Normally the updates have to be installed in order, but this one can be installed over the original install (the web site will tell you). When you cannot update from the Help menu, then go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows, download the appropriae updates, and install them. It is a good idea when doing the updates to be logged in as the admin. and have anti-virus disabled.

I have purchased the adobe creative suite 6 design standard, and I can't seem to activate acrobat pro x. I have uninstalled my trail version which was acrobat pro XI, but it still is not appearing on my adobe application manager.

I have a Mac Mini (1.5 GHz, Intel Core Solo) with 512 mb RAM running OS X (10.4.5)
Unable to install Adobe Acrobat Professional 6 upgrade because I am unable to install earlier version full version (I own Acrobat 4 and 5 full versions). Finalizing install of 6 asks me to "Manually identify prior install", "Search hard drive for prior install", or "Manually locate on orig. CD". None of these options are possible (Version 5 CD is not a drag-and-drop app). How do I work around this?

I tried "Manually select..." but when I insert original CD of Acrobat 5, I'm not able to select it. Version 5 is not a drag and drop install,...i must click on the installer to install 5.

Unable to Open Acrobat Pro 9

I am a new iMac user with OS 10.6.8 and have installed Acrobat 9 Pro from a DVD. When I click on the Acrobat icon the program fails to open. The icon bounces once on the dock but nothing opens. It does appear to open if I double click an existing .pdf file.
How do I resolve this?

Try performing all updated to the Acrobat 9 by downloading the appropriate files from the Adobe ftp site. You'll need to get beyond 9.2 for it to open in 10.6 and probably need to go to 9.4.4 at least.

Unable to locate Acrobat Pro 9.x serial number to upgrade to 11

Greetings.
I have a licensed version of CS5 which included Acrobat 9.x. I've been trying to upgrade to Acrobat 11 and the installer is indicating that my serial number is incorrect. In doing a bit of searching online I've seen indications that the 9.x serial number is a different one than the CS5 password. I don't seem to be able to locate a seperate 9.x serial number and the number registered with Adobe.com only shows the CS5 serial number. Is there any way I can locate the 9.x serial number on my system?

I am unable to install acrobat pro on my windows 8.1 PC. I have disabled the fire wall and this makes no difference. The install commences, the install screen flashes up then disappears...

I have also disabled the anti virus software (ESET)...

Does the installation throws any exception error or any error code?

Adobe Acrobat Pro XI unability to open pdf mail attachments

Since upgrading to Adobe Acrobat Pro XI I am unable to open most pdf attachements on outlook. The message is that the file is corrupt or was encoded wrong. How do I correct this.

I tried to save the attachment to the hard drive in Outlook 2013.
When opening the file in acrobat the error says that the file is either not a supported type or damaged (incorrectly encoded)
I have Acrobat Pro XI version 11.0.10 and windows 7 64 bit installed. It worked perfect on Acrobat pro X until about December 2014. In tried a repair, a clean install of XI. The files are bank statements. It works on Mac and Adobe reader, so the files must be correct.

I clicked on that, but when I went to open the file and start downloading after about 3 minutes into downloading it says an error had occurred. Can anyone help me?

I am a little worried. If you are an existing subscriber why would Adobe need you to download... I wonder if the message is a fake.
I'm not clear, if you've had it for a year, whether you need to download, or you are just following the email?

Unable to open pdf created with Acrobat Pro using Adobe Reader X

Files created with some Adobe Professional applications such as Acrobat Pro ensure the file is small by excluding font information from the file. Simple pdf creation applications embed the font in the file, which makes for transportability between apps but does make the files big.
The problem i have experienced is that Adobe Reader X is one of the simple app varieties, so is unable to open, print, or read files created using Adobe Acrobat Pro..
i'd welcome any help in (a) finding a free app that opens these 'pro pdf' files, OR (b) an option setting in Acrobat Pro which includes the font information in the file - or both!

There are so many things wrong, around a tiny grain of truth, it really isn't worth examining. Not at this stage if you are more interested in getting things working. It may be worth asking you though, since Reader doesn't even launch for you, how you came to focus on font embedding being the cause.
Ok, Reader doesn't launch. Suppose you start Reader FIRST. Then use File > Open on your PDF.
