Unable to reply to emails after restoring profile

Hi BB Community,
I'm having problems with sending replies to emails on my Blackberry 8310. I can receive emails and send new emails, but I'm unable to reply to emails sent to me (there's no option). The only option I have is to draft a new email and send.
I've tried having service books resent, hard reset (handheld wipe) and at first it seemed to not have resolved the issue. After trying another hard reset and enterprise activation the second time without restoring my profile and third party apps, I had the option to reply to emails. However, doing the restore after the activation, doesn't restore my apps correctly and it causes the reply issue to reoccur.
My question is, how should I procede from here on? Should I just suck it up and re-download all my apps again instead of restoring, or is it possible (which I think is highly likely) that one of my apps is causing this issue, or could it even be something to do with how I've setup my Blackberry desktop?
Any input would greatly be appreciated.

I think your correct, one of your app is causing the issue.  Once you restore, you have the problem again.  I would re-download the apps not restore them from the BES.  I think that's where your problem is coming from.

  • Cannot reply to email after update to 10.8.4

Recently - I believe after updating to 10.8.4 - Apple Mail 6.5 will no longer send replies or forwards.  After troubleshooting different scenarios, it seems to be related to the original message text being included in the reply/forward.  I need to include all previous message text in my emails for audit purposes.
Any suggestions/fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' | open -f -a TextEdit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. If the command produced no output, the window will be empty. Post the contents of the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window), if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. You can then close the TextEdit window. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    { sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh)|org\.(amav|apac|cups|isc|ntp|postf|x)/{print $3}'; echo; sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook; echo; sudo crontab -l; } 2> /dev/null | open -f -a TextEdit
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    { launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'; echo; crontab -l 2> /dev/null; } | open -f -a TextEdit
    Step 4
    ls -A /e*/{cr,la,mach}* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts .la* 2> /dev/null | open -f -a TextEdit
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' | open -f -a TextEdit
Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Replying to email after upgrade to iOS 7

    Hi.
After upgrade my iOS on my iPad i have a situation with my email, that when I reply I see the beginning old email "person 1 wrote:". In the past i had:
    From: person 1
    To: person 2
    Subject: blablabla
    Time:
    Etc
    How can I change it?
    Thanks
    Best
    Marek

My iOS devices have always used the "person 1 wrote" format for replies. The full header format is used for forwarding.on both iOS6 and iOS7.

  • Firefox history not working after restoring profile from backup

    Hi,
My Firefox profile was inadvertently deleted when I uninstalled Waterfox. I had a backup of all profile data from the day before, and restored that. Am running Windows 7, so restored Users > Username > AppData > Local > Mozilla and Users > Username > AppData > Roaming > Mozilla.
Since the restore, Firefox history no longer works - all past history is gone, and worse, no history of new browsing is created. Cookies and saved passwords were restored and are working correctly.
Any idea on how I can get Firefox history to work again?
    Thanks!

Sounds that the copy of places.sqlite that you restored is corrupted.

  • Keep getting old emails after restore

hi just restored my iphone and i keep getting emails!! 50 at a time i delete 50 and 50 more come ive deleted that many that im in june 09!! the iphone wasnt even out then\
    plz help

If the account is a POP account, the email account was recreated on your iPhone. When creating or when recreating an existing POP account with any email client, all received messages that remain at the incoming mail server for the account will be downloaded as new and unread messages. It doesn't matter when the iPhone was released. What matters is how long have you been accessing the email account and if you have received messages that remain at the incoming mail server older then June of 09.

  • Can't send email after restoring original settings

Running 3.0, my iPhone was working just fine until yesterday, including being able to send and receive email. Then today I could neither send nor receive email, update the weather forecast, or use Safari to connect to the internet. In an attempt to solve all those problems (Why do they occur!?) I restored the original settings. Now everything works, including receiving email, except that I am not able to send email. When I try to send email I get a message saying the following:
    Cannot Send Mail
Check the settings for the outgoing servers in Settings > Mail, contacts, and Calendars.
I've checked the settings for outgoing servers and they are the same as they have always been, and the same as what I have for Mail on my computer. So what am I to do?
    John Link
P.S. My $600 iPhone has certainly been a disappointment.

What email service provider are you using?
    RoadRunner
If you haven't already, try to delete the account from the iPhone and then add it again.
I just deleted the account from my iPhone and then added the account. I am now able to send email again. Thank you, Jason.
Do you see the issue while connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi, 3G, and EDGE?
How do I determine how I'm connected?

I restored my iPad -which wiped out my email accounts - and upgraded t latestt iOS
I re-entered my email account properties but now I can't receive or send email any longer. Error states it can't access the pop server.
I've checked account settings are same as iPhone and pc which are accessing email just fine

The easiest thing to do is to restore from backup if you have one. The backup will continue the email settings. Do you have a recent backup?

  • Loosing emails after restore if IMAP account is no longer active

I'm coming across a strange issue which I'm hoping someone can help with.
I have an old IMAP account in my Thunderbird which I keep to reference old emails. The account does not exist on any server, only locally. Yes I get prompted for the password all the time but I can live with that.
All of a sudden the account is completely empty!!
So I restore an old backup which I made with MozBackup, all my emails are back thank god. Then I close and open Thunderbird and they are all gone again!!
Am I missing a fundamental principal of IMAP here or something?
BTW, I have the box checked that says "keep messages for this account on this computer" and the box "Don't delete any messages" is also checked for this account.

  • Cant reply to emails 10.8.3

Since upgrading to 10.8.3 the machines on our network seem unable to reply to emails, i reset the account which fixed the problem for about 10 minutes. WE have an open email system using imap and latest kerio, 10.7 machines are all fine, anyone else have the problem? To clarify the reply button is not greyed out , you can press it, just nothing happens, same if you right click and reply, and all other methods of replying.
    Thanks
    Rob

Right i think i know whats going on here
Our email system is a blanket imap system whereas everybody can se everyone elses emails within the company, this is done by having a single account on kerio that has a number of aliases that are deemed acceptable email addresses, ie the names of the people that work here, anything other than that is sent to a catchall and deleted,  prior to the 10.8.3 update we were able to reply to any email that came in, even if it wasnt addressed to me, now i can only reply to emails that are addressed to me, joe bloggs in the office can only reply to emails that are addressed to him, i think apple have introduced this as some kind of security measure, i think the time is now for us to have a "normal" email system.
