Unable to reset my K450

Question

I've been having problems with my computer restarting whenever I tried to use Chrome or play any games. I found out that the reason for this was that the DIsk % on the Task Manager showed 100% usage. After some time, it'd crash and give the Critical Process Died error. When the computer restarted, it'd show the error 1982, No Operating System Found. I refreshed to a previous save, use the repair function, and ran the anti-virus scan. None of these possible solutions worked. I found that this is a problem common with the series as people who have just bought their machines have experienced this issue. As I reset the desktop, it somehow escaped my noticed, since no one thought to add on to make a recovery disks in the many threads seen, that a recovery disk was needed. The error I currently get is 0xc0000185 saying that I requiere the recovery disk. F2 at start up does not work as well, all I get is a blank blue screen with a cursor, followed at time with a black one.  I tried using the Windows Media Creation Tool and making a recovery USB, but a minute before the installation was finish the power went out. Now the Media Creation Tool won't download on a  disk or USB without saying that the download was corrupt. Restarting does not solve this problem. So the Media Tool won't create recovery disks, seeing as it was downloading an 8.1 Windows I am unsure if it would have been sucessful since my machine came with Windows 8 installed. I've spent 15 hours today trying to fix this problem and lost all but the most irreplaceable of files. Please, any assistance is welcomed. Summary: Tried to reset computer after exhausting all other venues, and now cannot obtain a recovery disk.

Mostly, you only need to run the diagnostic on the drive when it's underperforming or when you get read/write errors (like intermittent no boot, I/O errors, etc.). If you're unable to run the diagnostics due to the machine not booting up, you could consider taking out the HDD and plug it in another PC then do the test there.
As for restoring the machine, you can do this by:
1.  Using a recovery drive (this restores the factory image)
  - Methodology to create Recovery Media
2. Using a Windows 8.1 ISO (you can opt to restore a clean image or do a fresh install --both options should be able to activate Windows)
Seing that you managed to boot from a Windows 8.1 media and a Refresh or Reset doesn't work, have you considered doing a clean install? On a side note, if there's a problem with the HDD, you will still experience the same issues even after restoring Windows so I recommend you run a diagnostic on the drive first.
