Unable to respond to Calendar Invitations

I seem to be running into a strange bug and am curious if anyone has seen this before. On all of my devices (iPhone, iPad, and iMac), I am unable to respond to a Calendar event.  On the iOS devices, when I tap on a response, it displays in the calendar, then switches back over to tentative about two seconds after I respond.  On the Mac end, I get an error that may be potentially helpful (screenshot attached). I have also tried the iCloud.com browser and run into the same issue.
I am seeing this issue when trying to respond to invitations that have been sent from various services (gmail, iCloud, and AOL), so it doesn't look like it's something on their ends.

  • Cannot respond to Calendar Invites

    Hello,
I can not respond to Calendar Invites on my Z10 that originate from another Z10.
I have two devices here, and when I send a calendar invite from one device to the other using an outlook.com email address, the other device receives the event, however displays a message saying "You have already responded to this event" (see attachement). The buttons to accept/reject/tentative are also not available.
    Notes:
    - Both devices use outlook.com email addresses set to sync via ActiveSync
    - When an invite that originates from the Web (outlook.com) and is sent to either of the Z10 devices I am able to respond to the event invite
    - When an invite that originates from a Z10 is sent to an email address I am able to respond to the event invite from the Web
    Things I've tried:
    - Deleting and readding the accounts to the devices
    - Turning on/offf Calendar syncing
Would anyone have any ideas how to address this?
    Thanks so much.

I'm having the exact same issue when I send meeting invites to people through my hotmail ActiveSync account on my Z10.  They experience the exact same behaviour as you described on their Z10s as well.
From my Z10 I viewed the sent meeting invitations in my hotmail sent items folder and compared invitations I'd sent from my hotmail account in my PC web browser, and invitations I'd sent from my Z10.  I noticed that those sent from my web browser appear as proper meeting invitations.  Those that I'd sent from my Z10 appear as sent email addresses with an attachment named "meeting.ics".  So, I'm guessing the Z10 isn't processing the .ics attachment 100% correctly.
I tested this by sending meeting invitations from my Z10  to  a colleague who is on BES (Exchange) and observed same described behavior on her Z10, but in her PC Outlook client the invitation worked as expected.
    I hope someone can assist!

  • Can I get iCal to respond to Google Calendar invitations?

Ever since MobileMe forced everyone to switch to the new CalDAV calendars, iCal.app stopped responding to iCalendar (ICS) invitations that I receive via email from Google Calendar users. Here's what's happening:
I receive a Google Calendar email, open it in Mail.app, and double-click on the ICS email file attachment.
Mail passes the ICS to iCal.app, which automatically creates a new calendar entry. However, the only choice I have for the new even under the "NOTIFICATIONS" side pane in iCal is an "OK" button. (Prior to the MobileMe Calendar update, I could accept or decline a meeting from the Notifications pane.)
I can open the meeting in iCal to reveal "Maybe", "Decline", and "Accept" buttons, but—for example—choosing the Accept button doesn't send an iCalendar email response back to the meeting organizer. The fact that I just accepted the event is also not reflected in iCal. Furthermore, iCal doesn't let me edit or add a new alarm to the event.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions for how to restore the old behavior!
P.S. Here are links to two other calendaring issues that cropped up since the MobileMe change:
How do I set the meeting organizer email address for the new CalDAV calendar?
Can I get Google to recognize my iCal invitations?

I have the same problem and it is not limited to Google Calendar invitations. Very frustrating! I can't find a solution anywhere other than replying to the invite message manually ... very poor workaround.

  • I'm unable to open calendar invites with (.ics) I could previously access these. Any suggestions?

I am unable to open calendar invites that have the .ics extension.  I had been able to do so prior to the last ipad update .  I have read several other comments and possible fixes, but they are not working for me.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • IOS6 Calendar Invitation Notifications from Google calendar not responding

    I have an 4s with iOS6 installed.
I received about 9 invitations from a shared Google calendar. I get notifications of new events, even if I'm not on the invite list.
When I try to respond to the invitations (Maybe, Decline or Accept) nothing is happening.
The buttons are non responsive. I can view the invitation and edit the invitation, but I cannot set a response.
The number of invitations on the calendar never gets reduced.
Could the issue because they are just the notifications and not actual invitations?
I didn't have this issue before.

    Anyone?

  • Can't respond and get rid of a Calendar invitation

This is the second time recently I've had an issue with a Calendar invitation.  However, this one is after I upgraded to iOS 8 (currently on 8.1).
Right now, I have a notification badge on my Calendar icon and in my invite box there's an invite from my wife for an event.  She sent her invitation from her iPhone using her Home iCal calendar.  On my iPhone, I can see the event in my personal iCal calendar and I also subscribe to her calendar so I see it listed twice.  However, the invitation won't go away.
Furthermore, the invitation looks corrupt.  The From: is listed as "somebody" and my only action I can select is "OK".  However even when I select OK it does nothing.  I can click on the invitation and the invitation details are accurate.  It also does show that it's from my wife's Home iCal calendar.
I did uncheck that calendar as one I subscribe to, but the invitation still remains.
I do not have this issue on my iPad Air, MacBook Air, or in iCloud.  I'm running iOS 8.1 on both my iPhone 6+ and iPad Air and running Yosemite on my MacBook Air.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this invitation or get Calendar to let me OK it and have it go away??
    Thanks!

  • How can I respond to a calendar invitation without sending a response e-mail back to the sender?

My job requires many appointments, therefore my boss sends me multiple calendar invitations each day.  It is getting quite annoying for him when he receives a response e-mail every single time.  Is there a way to turn this feature off?

    Hello there, David.
The following link from the online iPhone User Guide provides some great information on how to adjust that notification setting:
    Share iCloud calendars
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph7613c4fb
    Particularly:
Turn off notifications for shared calendars. When someone modifies a shared calendar, you’re notified of the change. To turn off notifications for shared calendars, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Shared Calendar Alerts.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

  • Unable to send calendar invitation response

So I keep getting this friendly reminder that there is a calendar invitation response that can't be sent.....
I want to see what invite isn't sent, and how do I correct it or delete it.

I have the same error on iPhone and iPad and iOS level is 6.1.3. any solution?

  • Delete Calendar Invite w/o Response?

I think I saw a few people had a similiar issue, but there were no responses to those.  I'm hoping things have changed...
So this is my issue: I have my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 synced to my work Exchange server.  When I receive a meeting invitation, I accept it on my computer.  The invitation remains on my iPhone, however, and I am unable to delete it or acknowledge it somehow unless I Accept/Decline/Maybe again.  I'd rather not have to respond twice to a single meeting invitation.  I have no option to delete the Calendar invitation on my iPhone.
With iOS5, the meeting invitation remained after I accepted on the computer, but it would disappear after I opened the invitation on my iPhone.  Now, it doesn't disappear, so I believe I will have to eventually start scrolling through all of these old invitations.
Anyone have any experience with this and might have some input?

The workaround is to temporarily delete the Calendar(s) from your device.  Then resync the Calendar(s) from the server.  Instructions:
Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap on the offending account in the Accounts list.
Turn off Calendars for that Account by tapping the On/Off switch next to Calendars.
It will ask you if you want to remove the Calendars.  Click "Delete".  This only removes the calendars from your iPhone/iPad, it does not delete anything on the server.
Now tap the On/Off switch again to turn Calendars back on.
The iPhone/iPad will redownload all appointments and other calendar data from the server.  Because it will redownload all calendar data, I would recommend you do this when attached to wifi, rather than over the mobile network.

  • How do i get calendar invites to open and update icloud calendar instead of my local outlook account?

I recently started using iCloud for my calendar and have installed the MS Outlook iCloud plug in, but whenever I receive calendar invitations in any of the mail accounts I have configured in Outlook, only my local calendar on my computer is being updated.   How do I set up Outlook to have incoming calendar invitations update my iCloud calendar?   I even tried opening the iCloud website, but all calendar items there also show up as .ics files, which automatically open in MS Outlook on my computer and again update only my local calendar (personal folders).   I also tried setting the default data file in MS Outlook to the iCloud data file, but when I did that, Outlook gives an error message advising against setting the iCloud calendar as the default.   I'm at a total loss and would GREATLY appreciate any advice anyone might be able to provide.    Thanks to all for your time!

    Hi Marknoon,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to resolve this issue where you are unable to use iCloud calendars in Outlook, please follow the steps below, ensuring you follow them in order and testing after each step.
Troubleshooting on Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook)
If you're having trouble with iCloud Calendar on a PC (with Outlook 2007 or later), try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved.
Note: iCloud Control Panel does not support Outlook 2010 Personal Edition. When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual menu (right-click) has also been disabled.
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration supported by iCloud.
Make sure that your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Learn about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel window. Learn about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
Make sure that iCloud is not your default account in Outlook:
In Outlook 2013 and 2010, select File > Info > Account Settings > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
In Outlook 2007, select File > Data File Management > Data Files. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account and click Set as Default.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not updating on your other devices or vice versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the iCloud Control Panel:
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Make sure that the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook. (Learn more about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook.)
    Outlook 2013 and 2010:
    Open Outlook 2013 or 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
    Outlook 2007:
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Note: When enabling Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook .pst file to iCloud, then remove the Calendars from the .pst file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Make sure that you're looking for your data within the iCloud folder in Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data. iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.

  • How do I accept or decline a calendar invitation in iOS8 without sending a response?

This specific scenario is Exchange 2013 and iOS8.
I want to be able to accept/decline/tentative in response to a calendar invitation from my iPhone without sending a response to the inviter.
I do not think Exchange probably has anything to do with it, but that is the set up.
    Thanks!

Decline a call and send it directly to voicemail. Do one of the following:
Press the Sleep/Wake button twice quickly.
Press and hold the center button on your headset for about two seconds. Two low beeps confirm that the call was declined.
Tap Decline (if iPhone is awake when the call comes in).
Respond with a text message instead of answering. Tap Message and choose a reply or tap Custom. To create your own default replies, go to Settings > Phone > Respond with Text, then tap any of the default messages and replace it with your own text.
Remind yourself to return the call. Tap Remind Me and indicate when you want to be reminded.

  • Cant open Outlook calendar invites

I receive outlook calendar invites in my me.com mailbox and unable to open and save to my iphone iCalendar. I have to wait to get home on MacBook and open via Entourage. I do not use Outlook Exchange as I am on Government restricted intranet (NMCI) so have to forward events to my personal iphone (government will only give me basic phone so I use my iPhone as it is much more useful).

I am having the same problem. I am forwarding calendar invites from my work account (Outlook) to my MobileMe account, so I can get the reminders on my iPhone - BUT, when I do that, *ics file just sits as an attachment in Mail, and I can't do anything with it unless I use my Mac.

  • Outlook Calendar invites show up 16 hours behind when accepted on my iphone

I am using Ms Outlook 2003 (work email) to send calendar invites to my Gmail (personal email which I receive on my iPhone4), and attempting to accept these calendar invites on my iPhone (via the .ics attachment) so that they appear on iCal. I am however, unable to get the event to appear as the correct time. It always shows up as 16 hours behind the scheduled time, but with the correct time showing up in the "Notes" Section.
My Outlook and computer settings are set to my local time zone. Similarly, my iPhone settings and the calendar settings are set to my local time zone.
Would appreciate if anyone could help. Thanks!

  • What can I do to accept calendar invitations when I receive an error message 403?

Freqently, when I try to accept a calendar invitation from someone, I receive the message error noted below.  It gives me the options to: ignore, try again or revert to server.  I want to keep the item in my calendar but I keep getting this error message that demands a response.   It pops up repeatedly and is very annoying.
"The Server responded with an Error.  Access to “xyz Meeting” in “Work” in account “iCloud” is not permitted.  The server responded: “403” to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation."

Interesting suggestion, but it's not clear to me how I would do that if I'm not using an "(at) icloud.com" email address/account. I am having the same problem with changed invitations that come from an organizer who is using Google Apps. My email account is hosted at my ISP - it's not obvious to me how I can use iCloud to access that email account (and therefore the changed invitation). Suggestions?

  • ICloud not allowing calendar invite changes?

Calendar invites received from others are populating fine, but when the meeting is changed (time, location, whatever) I'm not able to accept the change and am only getting the options of "go offline" or "revert to server" (which is the old, outdated meeting). I'm getting the following message in this same dialoge:
    The server responded:

This just started and is SUPER irritating. I'm having to manually put in the correct meeting details in a seperate calendar event. Not exactly the model of efficiency for my business.
Any ideas how to correct this? Thanks!

I think it's a real drag that something seemingly so simple goes unanswered for two weeks. Can anyone at least tell me if Apple is working on it? I can't continue to use the OS programs for my business if simple things like this can't be fixed. Sorry to get all cranky about it, but I'm frustrated that this calendar issue just keeps happening.
I would welcome and appreciate any thoughts on this, thanks.
