Unable to restore to factory configuration

Hi
I am running MS windows 7 Home Prem 00196-038-342-060 on a Lenovo U550 machine. I want to set mashine to Factory Config and by following the Control Panel instructions.
Instruction mentions an Factory Reset option, but it doers not appear when I follow instruction.
What do I do (wrong) ???

I have had a similar problem recently and followed advice here. Specifically, I used the brute force approach. As suggested by this site, I strongly urge you to backup your mailbox before trying this fix - just to be on the safe side.

It all depends on the definition of "factory unlocked". If the phone was purchased directly from Apple and the receipt says "Unlocked" then updating or restoring it will leave it unlocked (Apple never uses the term "factory unlocked" as there is no such thing; phones are unlocked at activation time). Similarly, if it had been locked to a carrier and the carrier authorized it to be unlocked, and you went through the unlocking steps they provided, it is permanently unlocked.
Unfortunately, a lot of the phones sold as "factory unlocked" were actually unlocked by hacking in the "factory" in the basement of some shop somewhere. These phones at best will become locked to the original carrier if restored, and in the worst case will be permanently disabled if restored.

This is indicates a hardwre issue:
Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
Error 1015 might happen after making unauthorized modifications to iOS, also called "jailbreaking."
Use recovery mode to restore your device
Related errors: 1015, “The required resource can't be found.”
You might see these error messages if your device has a beta version of iOS or if you're installing an older version of iOS (downgrading). Use recovery mode to restore your device to the latest version of iOS.

If it's a store's demo model then as far as I know only Apple can potentially change it's iOS version to a non-demo version - you've tried Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings directly on the iPad ?

I am unable to restore my iPhone 3 to factory orginal. I keep getting error code 2003

I had jail broken my iPhone 3 a number of years ago for travel use.
I now wish to return it to factory original so that I can have it correctly unlocked to take to Europe for use when traveling.
But when I try to do a restore to factory it keeps displaying the error code 2003 and I cannot locate what that means.
I tech's at my local Apple store have tried as well with the same result.
They were also not able to provide me with any explanation as to what the error code meant.
Does anyone out there know what it means or how I may be able to resolve this issue?

That message covers several things. Most often it is a cable problem, switching to another cable (Apple certified) often fixes it.
Second it can be security software on your computer interfering, temporarily disable all of them and try again.
There is a third jailbreak related issue, you could be attempting to contact a site other than Apple. Try it on a different computer where a jailbroken device has never been used. The final jailbreak issue normally affects certain models of the 3Gs but possible can affect a 3G. Altering the baseband chip for your unofficial unlock my have damaged it.

I am unable to restore iPod to factory settings

I got my iPod touch before the OS 5 update. So it came with OS 4.
With OS 4, it worked find on my Bose SoundDock.
When it updated to OS 5, it will not play on the Bose SoundDock.
I try to do the restore to factory settings, but it keeps putting OS 5 on it. How do I restore it to its true factory settings, with OS 4 on it?
If I can't do this, then my Bose SoundDock is now a $500 paperweight.

I don't want to downgrade it, I just want it back the factory settings (that is, the way I got it).

Rescue and Recovery, unable to do a factory restore, no backup found

Hi I'm trying to do a factory restore on my T510. I've done it before but for some reason it's saying it can't find the backup files.
Any idea on what I should do?

Yeah you should be good. Now would also be a good time to burn another recovery disc set since you can burn one after each restore, this way you will have a backup.

I have just tried to update Ipad to IOS6.1, but it failed during install. The pad now seems to be stuck in recovery mode.
I have tried to restore to factory settings but I get a error code 3194
During attempted restore the restore screen does not show the Ipad name, serial number or software version number.
Any suggestions, I think it may need to be sent away to be repaired, and i fear this will be very expensive!!!

Iam practicing RMAN in Windows environment.
My configurations are

Then i took the RMAN backup, now iam shutdown my DB and removed one logfile..
then i tried to startup the DB but it is saying
ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 3 of thread 1
ORA-00312: online log 3 thread 1: 'E:\ORADATA\ORCL\REDO03.LOG'
So i tried to restore the Database with my rman backup
RMAN> restore database;
But i am unable to restore my logfile in the Datafiles location where as all other datafiles are restored but redo logfiles are not restored.
So, i am unable to recover my DB
Please tell me whether i am doing any mistake, what is the solution for my problem.

All you restored was your datafiles.
Now issue recover database and that will apply the archive logs.
This is in the oracle documentation.
"You must restore backups of these archived logs for recovery to proceed. You can restore either to the default or nondefault location. If you do not have backups, then you must performing incomplete recovery up to an SCN before the first missing redo log and open RESETLOGS."

In this case after issuing restore database in RMAN, then issue this.
"Recover database"
It will then be an incomplete recovery. They should have been multiplexed. Did you restore your controlfile with this backup? You may have to issue an "Alter database open resetlogs;"

My iPhone says it needs to be restored, but on connecting to iTunes i get unknown error, and unable to restore: any tips?

Unless you have a jailbroken phone that has altered the baseband, that usually a hardware failure, in which case you'll have to take it to the Apple store for evaluation.
