Unable to restore to N91 phone via Pc suite

I backed up my N91 phone to my PC. I bought another N91 phone and when restoring the backup to this new phone, I get an error after initialising and restoring a few files that the phone has disconnected. The entire backup is not restored. what could be causing this problem and how can I restore the entire back up to the new phone.
Rgds,
Sammy07

Did you use PC Suite?
Did you back up the "Memory Card" also (i.e. the Hard drive) by using the settings in Back-up app?. If you did, this may be causing a time-out.
Another thing you can try is to connect your N91, then open PC Suite and select "Get Connected" Button (even if the N91 is already been detected and loaded) this will force the installation of the Sync utility into your new N91, you will be prompted on the phone screen to accept the installation.
Once this is done proceed to restore the back-up.
Hope this helps.

  • IP4S Battery Drain Was 8% hour.  Restored As NEW PHONE Via iTunes Battery Drain Now 1% per hour!

RE:  iPhone 4S rapid battery drain out-of-the-box.
I had been experiencing a battery drain of 8% per hour.
Apple's software update did not make it better!
I then restored my iPhone 4S as a NEW phone and now my battery is draining at 1% per hour with all settings at maximum for battery drain.

Thanks for sharing.  Restoring the phone first from backup then as new is one of the standard troubleshooting steps outlined in the User Guide.  Too bad more people like you don't realize this.

  • How can i Use my apple 4 phone again - I was instructed to restore my phone with itunes and now it's stuck with the itunes logo and black screen Itunes has said unable to restore and now left unable to use my phone and not sure if I have any data on it?

I was instructed by I Tunes to restore my Iphone 4 - ITunes has since said it is unable to restore.  I  am now left with a black screen with Itunes logo on it and a picture of the charger attachment at the base of the screen and I am unable to do anything now with the device.  I think I may have lost all of my information on the device too ~ can anyone help please?

You have lost all your data, but hopefully you were backing it up with iCloud or iTunes. You can try this:
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

Contact Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 to find out. But they will most likely tell you what you already know...it needs to be restored against the computer is was last linked with.

If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

  • I am unable to restore from iCloud backup because the new phone has iOS 8.1.2 and the old phone has iOS 8.2? Any help.

I Have just bought an iPhone 6 and want to restore my iPhone 4s via iCloud backup to the new iPhone 6. The setup of the iPhone 6 halted because according to the new phone it has iOS 8.1.2 whereas the backups were stored using iOS 8.2 following my updating of the iPhone 4S recently. How do I jump through this hoop? How do I update the new phone to iOS 8.2 without serring it up first? Anyone, please help?

Update the new phone to the same version that has been used to create the backup. In your case, the new device has to run 8.2 to be able to use the backup made with the other device.
Setting it back to factory settings will install the newest version and after that you can use the backup made under 8.2

i have recently purchased the highest storage but was unable to backup my phone via icloud, the button on my iphone to backup on icloud is grey out, anyone knows how to resolve the problem?  What's the point of purchasing the biggest storage?

First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • Unable to restore back up of iPhone error (-19)

So I had some rented movies transferred to phone, and they were not coming off when the rental period expired. So I looked around and found that doing a restore could help that problem. Ok, no problem, did a back-up and went ahead with the restore. When it asked me if I wanted to set it up as a new iPhone, I clicked to set it up from the backup. It came back and told me it was unable to restore from back-up. I had this issue when I replaced my iPhone due to battery problems, and that time the tech told me to go to file, preferences, syncing, and to erase sync history. It worked before, so I tried that this time. No dice. Same error message. So I restored again. Same error. Ok, before I threw my hands up, I restarted my computer after taking the phone off the sync. After the computer started up, I opened iTunes, connected the phone, and it asked me again if I wanted to restore from back up or as a new phone. I clicked back up...and this time, it worked. Just putting it out there in case someone else has the same issue.

Thanks for the info but after resetting sync history, the computer should be restarted.
I also suggest deleting the existing backup file allowing iTunes to create a new one since there seems to be a problem with this one.
You can delete the backup file via iTunes preferences. At the menu bar go to iTunes > Preferences and under the Syncing tab with an iPhone icon, select your iPhone's backup file and then select Remove Backup.
Then sync and a new backup file will be created.
