Hi,
I have taken the backup using enter prise manager 10.0 . when i am trying to
restore in another machine it got failed to restore ?
please can anyone tell me how to perform the restore option ?
Thanks
Rangan Sampath

It should be good to use RMAN. As you took backup using EM, be sure that EM takes backups using RMAN
1. Which error are you getting?
2. Try to restore your database using RMAN
RMAN>connect target /
restore database;
recover database;- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

  • Iphone crash downloading iOS 6 and unable to restore using iTunes  due to error 3253

    I'm from New Zealand and woke up this morning to find the iOS 6 was available. So after an hour of downloading onto my iPhone 3GS, it wiped my phone, sent it into restore mode. I connected to iTunes - have been trying for almost 8 hours!!!!!!!! and it is unable to download iOS6 due to error 3252, connection resetting and error 23.
    have done everything, all firewalls and anti-virus are switched off, upgraded to latest version of iTunes, turned off computer, re set the internet a million times. Won't downald on anyone eses computer in this house, and friends using other internet have the same problem.
    My iPhone is now off and will not turn on! What the **** is going on Apple??? I spend a fortune on these products and these latest updates ahve been nothing but trouble!
    Please can anyone help, im getting really p@#$@d off!!!!!!!

    I had this problem at first initially, and tried it 4 or 5 times.  Once I made sure that no other unnecessary software was running, the restore worked successfully.  However, it sounds like you've probably tried that.  Good Luck.

  • HT201263 Unable to restore using iTunes

    I update my operating system as prompted. But when i I tried to restore my iphone 4s many times via iTunes, it won't work. It keeps on giving me as error message. 'an unknown error has occurred (1)'. the 'connect to iTune screen' will then again appear on my iphone.  Needless to say, nI could not use my phone at all. Very badly need your help!

    Error (1) usually is a hardware failure error. Take your phone to Apple store.

  • Unable to restore using Mac OS X (10.6.6)

    Whenever I attempt to restore my iPhone using my MacBook (5,1) (late 2008-early 2009), it never is successful... however, I can use another machine -- a HP desktop using WinXP and it'll restore just fine... Then I can sync it to my MB and everything is wonderful.
    Can anyone think of why I can't use my MB? Here are a few things I've tried:
    Multiple USB cables
    Multiple USB ports/hubs
    Restarting my MB
    Updating to iTunes 10.2.1
    Completing software update
    Restoring from a new *.ipsw
    I'm not sure what else there is I can do outside of a restore, which I'd rather not do.

    What does is not successful mean exactly?
    What happens and is any error message provided?
    Multiple USB ports/hubs
    Using a USB hub of any kind is not supported/recommended by Apple. The iPhone should be connected direct to a USB 2.0 port on your computer. With a Desktop computer, the iPhone should be connected direct to a high powered USB 2.0 port which are usually located at the rear of the computer, not connected to one of the lower powered USB ports on the front of the computer. This is not applicable with a MacBook.
    Have you tried downloading and re-installing the current iTunes version and re-install it over the existing - no need to delete iTunes first?

  • RMAN hangs during restore using TSM

    Hi all,
    I need an advice. My database version is 11.2.0.2.0. TSM Client version is 5.5.2
    I'm testing a restore using Tivoli Storage Manager. I'm trying to restore a specific tablespace using RMAN
    RMAN> connect target /
    connected to target database (not started)
    RMAN> run {
    2> startup mount;
    3> allocate channel t1 device type sbt_tape parms 'ENV=(TDPO_OPTFILE=/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin64/tdpo.opt)';
    4> restore tablespace 'ECRIXAR';
    5> recover tablespace 'ECXIAR';
    6> alter datbase open;
    7> }
    RMAN-06196: Oracle instance started
    RMAN-06199: database mounted
    Total System Global Area 2137886720 bytes
    Fixed Size 2221336 bytes
    Variable Size 1308625640 bytes
    Database Buffers 822083584 bytes
    Redo Buffers 4956160 bytes
    RMAN-06009: using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    RMAN-08030: allocated channel: t1
    RMAN-08500: channel t1: SID=63 device type=SBT_TAPE
    RMAN-08526: channel t1: Data Protection for Oracle: version 5.5.2.0
    RMAN-03090: Starting restore at 07-MAR-11
    RMAN-08016: channel t1: starting datafile backup set restore
    RMAN-08089: channel t1: specifying datafile(s) to restore from backup set
    RMAN-08610: channel t1: restoring datafile 00014 to /dbspace/oradata/CMSDB/ecrixar01.dbf
    RMAN-08003: channel t1: reading from backup piece CMSDB_25_20110304.bkp
    And on this place RMAN just hangs and nothing happens further...
    I tried to search some information and tried to write some trace files during restore like this...
    oracle@hostname:/> rman target / trace /home/oracle/log/rman.trc debug
    connected to target database (not started)
    RMAN> run {
    2> startup mount;
    3> allocate channel t1 device type sbt_tape parms 'ENV=(TDPO_OPTFILE=/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin64/tdpo.opt)' trace=2;
    4> restore tablespace 'ECRIXAR';
    5> recover tablespace 'ECXIAR';
    6> alter datbase open;
    7> }
    But I cannot find any errors in trace files...
    What else can i do to check what's happenig?

    But I cannot find any errors in trace files...This indicates the problem is not on the RMAN, but on the TSM side. So you have to check the TSM logs, you also can switch on tracing:
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/tividd/td/DPON/SH26-4112-02/en_US/HTML/anou0009.htm
    And on this place RMAN just hangs and nothing happens further...How long do you wait?

  • Unable to restore after Android Update

    Hi all,
    After updating my Z1 to 4.4.2 I was unable to restore using the built in backup and restore app. The error message states that the selected backup cannot be used due to incompatability of the software!!!!
    This should have been obvious to sony....
    Also, opening the backup folder in the SD card is of no use since the files were encrypted.
    Will any good soul help me restore or at least retrieve my files?
    Thank you!

    You cannot restore the backup from JB to KK...You should have backed up on google servers,I think from there you could have restored easily.Try this link for the contacts:

    My phone has been restored using iTunes.  All of my previous photo are downloaded. I'm unable to delete the photos from the phone - no trash bin.  It has utilized all my storage and I'm unable to use any of my apps.

    Hello there, Jeanne2919.
    There is a great Knowledge Base article that is right up your alley:
    iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
    Specifically this section:
    To delete synced photos and videos
    In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
    On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
    On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
    Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.
    To delete Camera Roll photos and videos
    There are two methods to delete items from the Camera Roll:
    Import the Camera Roll to your computer, choosing to delete items after import.
    or
    Delete photos and videos from your device manually. Open the Photos application, open the Camera Roll, tap the Action button, tap each photo to select it, and tap the Delete button.
    Note: For photos and videos you want to save for later, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.
    Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities!

  • Trying to ... Restore files from MINWINPC folder using HP Recovery Manager

    Please help me ... I follow all the steps (pasted below) to restore my PERSONAL files from the MINWINPC folder copied to my desktop computer (new hard drive) from an external hard drive, however it then asks me to insert disc # 171338041 !!! I don't know what disc this is or what it wants!!!! it is very frustrating. Consequently it does nothing other than ask for this disc! even after 2 hours of allowing it to scan for the files  ! Reading various information sites/forums it would seem that it is asking me to insert the last disc of the series, however the backup files were all placed onto an external USB drive. and the files are in the MINWINPC folder. It appears to me that the HP Recovery Manager is not reading from the correct place! The files were backed up from my HP compaq which originally ran Widows Vista and was later ugraded to Window 7. The MINWINPC folder contains 2 files namely : Backup.1.exe and Backup.2.fbw I should be grateful for any help... Please ---- Instructions: Restoring backup files using HP Recovery ManagerTo restore backup files that you created using HP Recovery Manager, follow the steps below.Open the USB device to which you wrote your backup file, such as your USB flash drive, and then copy the MINWINPC folder to a convenient location on your computer, such as your desktop.Locate and open the MINWINPC folder on your computer, and then double-click the executable file (.exe) that was created during the backup process.note:There may be more than one file, but only one will be an application (.exe) file. Other backup files created with HP Recovery Manager will have an .fbw extension.When the Recovery Manager File Restore Program opens, click Next.Select the types of files that you want to restore and then click Next.----

    , Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums.  There is a way of doing a back up using a USB device but it has to be less than 32 GB.  If the data is any more than that then it will become corrupted. As well the back up came from a Vista system and the backup will be looking to load back onto the same OS.  By going to Windows 7 it will not find what it is looking for. You would have had to use another back up software for your data that could handle the amount and normally the best way is to plug in a USB hard drive and just drag and drop your files over. At this point you will not be able to recover your data the way you are trying. I hope this helps. Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Are you following these instructions.
    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
    Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

    I received an iPad for Christmas that was ex-display, however I am unable to restore it to factory settings using the iTunes restore......any suggestions??

    If it's a store's demo model then as far as I know only Apple can potentially change it's iOS version to a non-demo version - you've tried Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings directly on the iPad ?

  • How can i Use my apple 4 phone again - I was instructed to restore my phone with itunes and now it's stuck with the itunes logo and black screen Itunes has said unable to restore and now left unable to use my phone and not sure if I have any data on it?

    I was instructed by I Tunes to restore my Iphone 4 - ITunes has since said it is unable to restore.  I  am now left with a black screen with Itunes logo on it and a picture of the charger attachment at the base of the screen and I am unable to do anything now with the device.  I think I may have lost all of my information on the device too ~ can anyone help please?

    You have lost all your data, but hopefully you were backing it up with iCloud or iTunes. You can try this:
    Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
