Unable to revert back to simple passcode

i tried to turn off the simple passcode just to see how the non-simple passcode works. i dont like it much so i want to revert back to the simple passcode but the on/off button is disabled as well as the button to turn off the passcode..
please help on how i can revert back to the simple passcode.
Thanks

MichaelTang,
I tried it again on my iPhone and it still works with the latest iOS. If you are connected to company email, they may have a policy enabled requiring non-simple passcodes.  If that is the case, you can try removing that company email and then setting the simple passcode.
I also tried another method, which now works probably due to one of the many upgrades in the last 6 months.  With a non-simple passcode set, you can slide the "Simple Passcode" and it will prompt for the old passcode, then give you the option to enter the new simple passcode twice for verification.
Hope this helps,

  • Unable to revert back to an old BIOS?

I updated my Neo Platinum's BIOS from 1.1 to 1.3 in attempts to resolve the temperature issue, but it only resulted in BSOD's when loading Windows XP.  I reverted back to 1.1, and everything was fine again.  I then tried the beta 1.45 BIOS, and got BSOD's again.  When I tried to revert back to 1.1, the flash utility gave me a message that the chip was write protected.  As far as I know, there is no write protection  .
I've tried using different versions of the flash utility, messing around with hardware, and reinstalling Windows.  Nothing works.  What the deuce can I do to resolve this issue?!  The BSOD I get is a generic one that doesn't specify anything.  The only conflict I can see is the A-Data PC4200, although some say that they work wel with this board.  How can I get around this?

Bah!!  I finally managed to get it.  All I had to do was add the /f command to the end of the prompt.  To whomever wrote the installation instructions, this was the most complicated BIOS flash I have ever gone through.  I shall forever stick to my floppy diskettes and DOS.  LiveUpdate will not become a part of my system ever again.

  • Simple Passcode: Unable to switch back

Have an iPhone6 iOS8 with Company Exchange Account and Complex Passcode. I want to switch back to Simple Passcode without removing Company Exchange Account. But Simple Passcode is greyed out and does not allow me to switch back to Simple Passcode. Please advice.

The only way you're going to be able to switch back to a simple passcode is to completely remove the Exchange account from the phone.
Exchange administrators can enforce policies, including complex password policies to any device connected to the Exchange server.
There is no way around it.

  • How do I revert back to IOS 10.8 on my 27" iMac?  Since I upgraded to 10.9 on Monday I am unable to use my buttons in the App Store window, notes or ibook window.

How do I revert back to IOS 10.8 on my 27" iMac intel version?  Since I upgraded to 10.9 on Monday I am unable to use my mouse buttons in the App Store window, notes or ibook windows.  It works everywhere elese but not in any Apple application system windows.

I'll try it. I don't have much confidence in it actually working since I'm having the same issue with all mouses (Bluetooth and wired) and my Bamboo Create.
Can you also tell me how to revert back to IOS 10.8 in case resetting mouse preferences do not work?  I have already gone back and restored my system to before the up grade but it didn't restore the IOS system.

Simple passcode greyed out - how can i switch it back on?

Turn Off your current passcode. You should now be able to turn on Simple Passcode.
Note that your iPad may have a profile installed which prohibits using Simple Passcodes.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps...  Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • After configuring my office email simple passcode option disabled in iphone how to enable it back

After configuring my Office e-mail in Exchange, simple passocde option got disabled and "Erase data" is enabled?
is there any way to change this, if so your advice is much appriecated.
    Thank you much!

To re-enable a simple passcode, open your Exchange Management Console, open the properties of Organization Configuration/Client Access. Uncheck Require alphanumeric password.
Exchange Administrators always have the option of erasing the data of a remote device, I don't think that can be disabled.

  • I'm unable to delete a message. When I select edit and hit the red ( | ) button it reverts back to (-) before I can delete the message.

I'm running IOS 4.3.3(8J2) on an Iphone 4. When I try to delete a message by editing and then selecting the red (|) before I can delete it the delete button goes away and reverts back to the . I also noticed since this has started that my battery drains quite quickly now. Is this a bug in the current IOS release?

I'm having the EXACT same problem!  I look forward to getting an answer since no one seems to know why this is happening.

  • TS5223 After my iphone updated to ios7, it reverted back to my old icloud account which I do not know the password, do not have access to the email it sends the reset to and the reset for security options say my birthday information is wrong.

Help!!! I've lost all of my contacts and information after the ios7 update. After the update I plugged my phone into my MacBook and it reverted back to my old icloud account. I checked my MacBook and everything on there is connected to my new icloud account. I'm not sure why this has happened, but I have been trying for two days to get my new icloud account back. My phone won't allowe to log out of the icloud account it is logged into because I don't know the password. Simple solution, reset the password. Not so simple. I don't have the email address associated with the account anymore. So I attempted the security question option. When I entered my birthdate, it said that it was incorrect. I have tried multiple times and nothing will work. Can someone please help me??

If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

  • My APPLE ID is NOT working properly. I am frustrated beyond belief I have tried time and time again to change my apple ID and it keeps reverting back to my original ID!! I even set up a new email to try to submit a new id and it still does not work

My APPLE ID is NOT working properly. I am frustrated beyond belief I have tried time and time again to change my apple ID and it keeps reverting back to my original ID!! I even set up a new email to try to submit a new id and it still does not work

To change your Apple ID, follow these steps:
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID", and sign in.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you are unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.
In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
Enter the email address you want to use, then  click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that  address.
Open the  email  from Apple, then click Verify Now in the email.
When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your renamed Apple ID.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.
After you see a message indicating that verification is complete, remember to update all of the stores and services that you use with your  Apple ID.

  • Stuck in Lion installation *LIMBO* - disk damaged, disk wont repair, disk is locked, wont revert back to snow leopard

I'm stuck in Limbo.  I cant complete the install and cant revert back to snow leopard.  All I have are the installer utilites (including safari).
I'm running a summer 2009 release macbook pro 17 inch.  I downloaded the Lion install app and proceeded to follow the instructions and guided.  After less than a minute the install stopped to say that it could not be completed because the hard disk is damaged and can’t be repaired.
So...I went to disc utility to verify the disk and this is what I got.
    Verifying volume “Macintosh HD”
    Checking file systemPerforming live verification.
    Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
    Checking extents overflow file.
    Checking catalog file.
Incorrect number of file hard links
    Bad hard link creation date
(It should be 3325742596 instead of 3340504404)
Hard link record has data extents (id = 2888169)
    Checking multi-linked files.
The volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely.
Error: This disk needs to be repaired. Click Repair Disk.
So I put in my Snow Leopard disk and went to repair disk.  Now, THIS is what I got.
Disk Utility can’t repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files.
So then I wanted to go back to Snow Leopard at least, but I cant.  When I go to “Startup Disk” and select my Mac 10.6.8 drive, it says:
You can’t change the startup disk from the selected disk.
Startup Disk could not gather enough information on Selected Disk.
So that’s annoying because it keeps me stuck in that installation "limbo" - not able to finish installing and not able to go back.
I restarted, holding down the OPTION key, but it only gave me one boot selection - the installer itself.
So then I try yet again to install this thing because there’s not much else I can do...but now it won’t even start installing...when the installer screen asks which drive I want to install it on, for which I would of course choose my Macintosh HD, it says in subscript underneath Macintosh HD:
“This disk is locked”  and it wont let me select the “continue” button to begin the installation.
    Please help, someone.

phew, just got everything back to "normal"
I turned off my mac for about 10 minutes and then started it up again.  Also I think this time i inserted my snow leopard disc at just the right time, not too early not too late.
Whatever it was, when i went to "Startup Disk" the snow leopard disc showed up!
So then I went to disk utility after booting the snow leopard installer for the first time.  It said it repaired one thing but then stopped and said it couldnt repair it and told me to back up and reformat.
Then I just ran a simple verify again and it said the HD was "OK" - it gave me a clean bill of health?!?!
So then I went to startup disk again, and was finally able to get out of limbo and back to good old snow leopard.
Now I'll install Lion, but taking all cautions beforehand...maybe i'll wait a few days first though.
    Thanks to everyone.

  • Why doesn't FIREFOX provide guidance for reverting back to 3.6.17?

Don't like Firefox 4, want to revert back to what I previously had, but I'm not technically "adept." Why aren't we provided with simple, accurate step-by-step directions from FIREFOX on how to revert?

    Hi Stan,
Firefox 4's lack of support for Billeo is our fault. While Billeo for Firefox 4 on Windows is ready for download from www.billeo.com, we're still working on the Mac version.
We apologize for the delay. Please email [mailto:[email protected] [email protected]] and let us know you want to be notified as soon as our Browser App is ready for FF4 on Mac.

  • Open with & Change All revert back to Preview. Can't set Photoshop instead.

To help with analysis of this issue, my system is a G4 PowerMac running OS X Tiger 10.4.11. This issue also involves Photoshop 6.0.1 running in Classic mode.
For my Photoshop files, the default application is no longer set as Photoshop, but instead as Preview. I would like to reset Photoshop as the default application for all files ending with the ".psd" extension. When I right-click (or control-click) on a file ending in a ".psd" extension, select "Get Info", then under "Open with" choose Photoshop, and finally click the "Change All" button, the "Open with" setting reverts back to Preview. I am able to change one file at a time, by selecting Photoshop under "Open with" and by then avoiding clicking on "Change All". Regrettably, it is not feasible to change the settings for every single ".psd" file on the computer in this one-by-one manner.
Does anyone know how to change the default application globally for all ".psd" files to Photoshop, using the command line? I have searched for information on the Internet about the "defaults" command line utility, but have been unable to find an answer in that regard.
Does anyone know of an alternative means by which to resolve this issue?
Thank you for your time and help.
    -John

Thank you for the suggestion, BDAqua. Regrettably, the problem continues to persist. The command at that link did indeed do something because the choices for "Open with" were different. Also, after running the command, Photoshop was not among the default choices, although it could be found after clicking on "Other". This might be shedding light on something. The copy of Photoshop is on a secondary hard drive in order to save space on the main hard drive. Maybe if Photoshop is on the main drive and then the command from the linked page is run, that might solve the issue.
After the opportunity to test that, I plan to post a follow-up message. I must confess that it might be a few days before that happens.
Thank you again for you help, BDAqua.

  • Ipad mini with broken digitizer - can it be backed up if passcode cannot be entered?

    Hello,
I'm not sure if i entered the right category, I have searched around for questions similar to this but have not been able to find a thread that answers my question. My ipad mini is 1st generation, 4G compatible, 16gb. iOS 7 (as specific as i can get).
I dropped the iPad which shattered the digitizer which means I am unable to to type in the passcode in order to back it up on iTunes. The screen was left undamaged. I have a backup from a week or two before it was dropped but I want to be able to retrieve the photos and garageband files that were made past that point. I am wondering if there is any way of backing up the iPad without a passcode or somehow the passcode could be entered on my computer, ect.
I am planning on bringing the iPad to get the digitizer replaced, but to be on the safe side I would like to have a backup just in case a mistake is made during the repair or if a storage dump is unavoidable.
    Thank you

You could try attaching a bluetooth keyboard to your ipad and typing in the passcode.  This assume you have enabled bluetooth on the ipad before.
