Unable to run adobe software

I need to run some Adobe stuff and my computer is telling me that -
"This Publisher has been blocked from running software on this machine"
Anyone know how to get round this problem?

I'm not pointing fingers. I'm not saying that CS4 doesn't work on Vista-64. It certainly had been working just fine for us for a couple of months, and everything but InDesign was continuing to work until we tried to fix InDesign. I haven't seen this particular problem mentioned anywhere else, so I posted the description of the problem and the solution in case it ever happens to anyone else.
As for incompatibilities, certainly it's possible that there is a third-party catalyst. That doesn't mean that there isn't an incompatibility. The Windows Explorer issue definitely appears to have a third-party catalyst as it only seems to happen on Gateway and HP systems, and it seems to be related to some unusual system directory permissions.
Matthew Laun has been very helpful in trying to "run this to ground", to find out what the problem is and how to fix it. Which is a whole lot more helpful than declaring that it's not an Adobe problem when Adobe software has an incompatibility with something else.
And the tech support person got InDesign working for us again. Which is a while lot more helpful than declaring that it's not an Adobe problem when Adobe software has an incompatibility with something else.

In addition to pixel density, you are up against the translation driver card in the TV.
If you read the fine print of computer-resolution-capability in the TV user guide, you will see a chart as tall as the manual page. At the top is the smallest resolution capable, at the bottom is the full use of the 1080p in the TV.
Mac falls into the top 25% of the page, maxing out at 1366x768 often. This is because the TV control card is expected to do too much of the work, but is not designed for computer-monitor processing.
I looked at the resolution charts on 2 TVs before deciding to buy a 1080p LCD monitor that has a TV interface/connector. Computer monitor first, TV second. But the thing is only 27 in. Good thing TV is not as important to me as it is to others.

Unable to run Adobe

Can't run Adobe. Also can't install because a version exists. Can't remove existing Adobe because files in use by Adobe Reader.

Suddenly Unable to Run Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop, both CS2 and CS, crash during launch (splash screen says 'building TWAIN menus...') with the following on the crash report:
Exception: EXCBADACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000
I have run both applications before, but not for a few months, probably before installing 10.4.9 and 10.4.10.
This happens under safe boot, and when using a newly created test account, after repairing permissions and verifying the hard drive disk.
I have sent the report to Adobe, but it is too early to expect an answer. I have checked with Applecare and been told that i did all the steps I could to isolate the problem.
Does anyone have a theory about what is going on, or what i could do besides waiting for help from Adobe? Could it have anything to do with my having Adobe Lightroom 1.1 also installed? It runs fine.

I don't know why there is a problem either--my own TWAIN driver is in place and I haven't had a problem. However, I don't have a scanner connected, so have never installed any scanner software. If you do have a scanner with its own software I suppose there could be a conflict. At any rate, I have seen other people whose PS crashes were solved by removing the Adobe TWAIN driver.

Adobe software won't update

Since getting a new computer I've never been able to run Adobe software updates. I just uninstalled and reinstalled in safe mode and am still getting the same error stating that the software (update) didn't download. What can I do to fix this?

Im having a hard time getting a good answer but, Im upgraded from 5.5 to 6.0 and need to quickly add my custom mapkey setting from one to the other.
It was very frustrating to find out that from 5.0 to 5.5 that I had to recreate them all as a power editor and in Final Cut Pro we were able to export or find them very easily.
My biggest pet pee is that I have been told that I need to look for a .kys but, on my MacPro searching on SPOTLIGHT is doesnt exist anywhere.
I urgently need ADOBE to make this more evident because its is really a key root feature that needs to have some attention too.

I have never had any problems with my G5, it's been my awesome helper these past 7 years, I can't say the same thing for my new Mac, but it seems now my poor G5 is slowly being made redundent because they no longer write software for it.
I don't see why i should pay for a new Mac because my old one does not always function on the web, or having a new printer because it does not support the new software.
My New Mac Laptop has had no end of troubles since i bought it less than a year ago.
What happened to Mac being a sign of Quality??

As of late i have been unable to run fwd email u tube videos my mac tells me i need adobe flash got it still neg = and now my bakn statement is in pdf and mac tells me i need adobe reader got still neg why can't i run these things on safari?

For videos. Uninstall the current Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Quit then relaunch Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Try a video.
All online bank statments are in PDF format.
Go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin (or just PDF Browser plugin) to the Trash.
Now try a bank statement.

and - check with Adobe - would strongly suspect you need to upgrade CS. Strongly consider Creative Cloud, access to the entire TypeKit alone is amazing.

Unable to run Software Install/Restore Disk, Help!

Hi,
Currently unable to run my original Software Install and Restore disk.
Can force the CD tray to open, Disk drive is working fine and can hear it whirring but not running the program on disk!
Tried holding C key not working (did run my Apple Hardware Test disk though)
Also tried Holding Command, Option, Shift and Delete keys (to disable hard drive as described in Apple help info)
If anyone has any suggestions Im know throwing in potential marriage to anyone with an answer thatll work.
(Please note: Id love to buy DiskWarrior but at £70 and currently being unemployed, that is definitely a last resort.)
MY ORIGINAL PROBLEM IS OUTLINED BELOW
Hi nice people.
I own a G4 imac 15 flat panel, running OSX10.2
Currently after turning on my computer I get the following-
The start up tone, then a screen with the grey apple logo, I then get the spinning grey progress wheel and this is how the computer remains, not progressing from this screen!
The hard drive is making an active noise for the first minute and then goes quiet.
Previously to this situation-
My computer kept locking up while I was using the Internet.
Seeing the progress indicator (spinning disc) it remained constant and I was not able to do anything from this point. Tried force quitting nothing.
Switching off the computer with the power button led me to me my current situation.
I have followed all online help advice that seems to be relevant and have tried the following-
Resetting PRAM_
Safe Boot_
I have also disconnected all additional devices and Ethernet connection.
Bugger.

Ok, well they don't actually have them anymore, but if one calls up and says they lost their cds, Apple SOS can send a duplicate, but whether or not its the actual 4 cds and two 10.2.1 cds that remains to be seen, but according to what they told me they no longer provide the cds unless the customer mentions that it was lost or misplaced.

Can I revert back after upgrading to Mavericks operating system? Can't get my Adobe software to run properly.

Thanks, for your replies. I've got a late 2012 iMac (2.7 GHz Intel Core i5). I was previously running Snow Leopard - Not sure exactly what version but it was right up to date.
The Adobe software I'm using is the Creative Cloud. Specifically InDesign cc. Whenever I try to browse folders through the InDesign software the browser window closes before I can do what I need to do. So I cant place images into my InDesign document or save documents properly.
On the Adobe website it says that they worked with apple to fix any bugs before the Mavericks release but there's lots of complaints on the forums. I've left a bug notification with Adobe but I don't expect that they will be offering any solutions or software updates any time soon.
I really just want to revert back without too much trouble.

I am not able to install any adobe software. Last time it was with PS LR 4 and now the same with PS ELEM 11. I am getting the following report ** This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it OR contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package **Last time I paid out £150 to install LR 4 but I am not prepared to pay to install Elem 11 I welcome any help
