Unable to runform in 10g

Hi,
I am not able run a form in 10g. I started OC4J instance and try to run the form. immediately browser is opening, I can see a text (oracle forms) on the browser. Then I see a dialog box saying internet explorer stopped working. can any one please help me to solve this problem. Your help is really appreciated.

You can run a Form from your desktop without the Oracle Jinitiator installed. You must modify the formsweb.cfg file and find the IE directive. It is defaulted to IE=JInitiator. To use the Browser native JVM change this value to: IE=native. Of course, you will have to have an OC4J instance started to run the form.

Unable to open dbca 10g on RHEL5

hi guys,
i am using oracle database 10g on RHEL5platform. i am unable to open dbca 10g.
i dont know the exact problem,i have set certain parameters like
DISPLAY=<machine name>:0.0; export DISPLAY AS ROOT
and xhost +<machine name> as root and as oracle user. as per oracle docs.
when i attempt to start dbca in $oracle_home/bin it gives eror "Exception in thread "main" "
what else should i set???

we have to disable access control list to access dbca from remote machine.so i followd steps as specified by maran sir
login as root set xhost +
now login as oracle issue export display
now try to start dbca

Unable to install oracle 10g XE in windows 7

previously i had installed oracle 10g.but it stopped working.
so I tried to resolv it by uninstalling it.
I uninstalled it from control panel.
but now i am unable to install it again
it showing an error-
The install cannot proceed as service OracleServiceXE is present on the system.
Remove the sevice,reboot the system and retry the installation.
I have tried reboot the system so many times after uninstall also.
please give me a solution for this.

Unable to connect to 10g database from developer suite 10g

I have loaded oracle 10g on my server with OS windows 2003 and it is working fine.Now I have installed Oracle developer suite 10g on windows XP client . we have configured local listener also and its entry is found in tnsnames.ora
My database name is mbxdata .
I have defined my host name as
MBXDATA.mbxnet.com in tnsnames but I am unable to connect to the database since I get error as ORA-12154 : TNS :could not resolve the connect identifier specified.
Please suggest matter urgent.

We are having the same issue now. Was this ever resolved? We created 2 new databases and added those entries in both tnsnames on the local pc, and the tnsnames on the application server. Able to connect via sqlplus, toad, etc. but not through forms developer. We are running 10g app server, 10g developer suite, 10g databases. Any ideas?

Unable to download oracle 10g for vista

I'm trying to download Oracle 10g for Windows Vista, but I only get a zero-byte file.
I even tried Oracle 10g XE for Windows, but I get a zero byte file.
Also, when you try to download, it waits about a couple of minutes before saying completed.
Any ideas how to resolve this?.

It seemed to be a problem with either oracle's web site or a hop between oracle and my computer. It works now. I don't think it was my computer because I succussfully downloaded files from several other sites.
I have downloaded Oracle 10g for windows vista and installed it successfully on vista home premium 32-bit.
I did get a warning because I use DHCP. It recommended to install Microsoft Loopback driver as the primary interface - I didn't do that.
Oracle seems to run okay. I downloaded sql developer and it connects okay to oracle.
I have read other messages on here that installing oracle on a windows system using DHCP without a loopback driver can fail once my IP address changes. If I did install the microsoft loopback driver as my primary interface, what else would I need to do? Would installing this driver cause other stuff on my computer to fail?
Also, when I entered the database name for Oracle, it truncated a character.
I wasn't paying attention. So, after I installed, I was unable to connect at first because I kept entering the wrong TNS name. Is there a maximum TNS name length?
Notice the TNS name is TESTDB10 but the service name is TESTDB10G

Look for the tag kmsgAuthenticateUnableToLogon in the file logonmessages.xml
You need to replace the below text
<TEXT>Unable to Log In</TEXT></WebMessage>
with HTML code for ex:
<HTML>
<script>
document.write("hai");
</script>
</HTML>
The idea is to not to show the OOB login screen and show some text on the page.
I cant try this at my local since I dont have 10g.

Unable to install oracle 10g

I already had my 10g in my windows machine but it not installed properly,so I tryied to unistall and install my oracle 10 g in my machine.
But while trying to uninstall
i not found any unistall exe so i deleted the registered key,and again try to install it,but while installing it throws the error boldplease remove the service and recoot to install bold
so i tried to find sid in cmd using set oracle_sid it shows sid not define
While tried in control panel->administrative tools-->serivces i found 3 services in ora i unable to remove so i put across all the ora services in disabled and i tried even its not working

1.) Remove the services as C:\> oradim -delete -sid <db_name>
2.) remove the directory structure
3.) In case if some folder cnaoot deleted then restart the machine and delete them or rename them and delete later on.

Unable to download JDeveloper 10g Production Release or Oracle Designer 10g

The downloaded files doesn't seems to be complete and I get "invalid file" when try to open using WinZip. I tried to download these files few times now but in vain.

I am still unable to download. I used 2 different browsers. I am clicking on the 'Download JDeveloper 10G'
link on the homepage, clicking on 'I Accept' on the next page after checking all the checkboxes. Then in next page
clicking Complete Install/Basic Install gives the same
"Sorry, page not found error"!

RunForm for 10g

Hello,
Would someone please tell me where can I find a runform (windows) for 10g (compatible with 10g forms)?
I need to run forms in windows mode instead of browser mode so I really need this.

oracle Forms 6i was that last version that supported client/server. Oracle Forms 10g is a web only release - However, Forms 10g (as part of the Oracle Developer Suite) contains a runtime so that you can build and test on a single windows PC (although this is still run as a Java Applet).

Unable to install Oracle 10g R2 on Windows Vista Business

Specification for my Machine/Laptop- Lenovo SL400
windows 32-bit
Windows Vista Business
Oracle installation fails several times with unknown error.
Is this a compatibiity issues? Do I need to install other drivers or downgrate to Windows XP Professional?

Which version of oracle have you installed?According to the dcoumentation,
Do not install Oracle Database on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 using the media for Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2) for Microsoft Windows. Do not use the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3.0) for Microsoft Windows Vista or the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3.0) for Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 media to install on operating systems other than Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.
Oracle Database is supported on Windows Vista with the 10.2.0.3 release. If you used the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3.0) for Microsoft Windows Vista media, then Oracle recommends that you install the 10.2.0.4 patch set. You do not need to use the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3.0) for Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 media.
For new installations on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, use the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3.0) for Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 media. This new software is available in the updated media pack

When we are trying to run ./runInsatller we are getting the below error .And it is not displaying any ORACLE GUI to install

Standard edition unable to connect Discoverer 10g??

I am doing a proof of concept. I am using the Oracle 10g Standard edition DB and Discoverer. I downloaded th e Discoverer Admin and created an EUL over some sample tables. Now when I attempt to connect the error End User Layer Tables version 5.1.1.0.0.0 requires End User Layer Library of at least Version 10.1.2.45.20.0.
Is this telling me I can not do this proof of concept with Oracle DB standard edition?

You need to ensure that the version of Discoverer Admin is the same as the version of Discoverer Plus/Viewer/Desktop you're using. From what you're saying, I think you're using the version of Discoverer Admin that comes with either 9iDS or 10gDS, you then created your EUL and now you're trying to connect using Discoverer Plus/Viewer 10.1.2.
To sort this out, download the BI Tools that come with Business Intelligence 10g http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/ias/1012/OracleBITools10gWin.exe then start the version of Discoverer Admin that comes with this download, connect to your EUL and you will be asked whether you want to upgrade the EUL tables. Go ahead and do this, and then you should be able to use Discoverer 10.1.2 against your EUL.
