Unable to save a report to BOJ X1 3.0 from CR 9

I am trying to save a report created in CR 9.0 to our new BOJ XI server. When I click "save as" I can logon into the XI server no problem and find the user folder to save the rpt in but when I hit save it hangs and then I get:
"Critical Error while attempting to communicate with the APS"
I have the latest SP on both programs.. We have to use CR 9.0 due to a application we use.. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I create a new Report in Crystal Report 9 Professional Edition with Service Pack 7. But when I try to save the report "Critical Error While Attempting to Communicate with the APS"

Hi All,
I have a question. I recently upgrsded my internet explorer from IE 7 to IE 8.
Previously, i was able to save webi reports in excel format without any issues.Even after upgrading to IE version8, i was able to save webi reoprts to excel without any issues for 2 weeks.
Suddenly I am unable to save Webi reports in excel format now.When I select the Save to my computer as Excel option the saving dialog box appears and hangs forever.
Can someone please advise me on this??

Unable to save a report that includes a datasource of "Microsoft SQL azure" type

I have install SSRS in azure using the following instructions (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn449661.aspx) and all seems to work fine, however when I create a report in report builder 2014 (in this case empty) that includes a Microsoft SQL Azure
datasource type I am unable to save the report and get the following error message (even though when I test connection it succeeds).
"The report definition was saved, but one or more errors occurred while setting the report properties"
Reports with standard sql datasources work fine.
I have also tried creating the report using Visual Studio 2013 and get a similar error message.
I have tried this using SQL 2012 and SQL 2014 and get the same error.
Does anybody know how I can create a report with Microsoft SQL Azure datasource type?

Based on my research, the issue can be caused by a deleted shared data source still exist under the Data Sources list in Report Builder. For more details about this scenario, we can refer to the following thread:

UNABLE TO SAVE PORTAL REPORTS OUTPUT TO DISK WHEN USING INTERNET EXPLORER

Hi,
We are unable to save portal reports output to disk when we are using
Internet Explorer. This works fine if we use Netscape.
Steps to reproduce
1. Run a report from portal
2. Now from the IE menu, select File-> Save As
We get a warning saying that IE cannot save the web page
Any thoughts ?

Tim,
Are you trying to save the HTML output ? You might encounter probs. with that, but that is more due to IE security
settings than the Portal.
You might want to check your IE security settings.

Unable to Save - Crystal Reports 9

I am experiencing an issue where I am unable to save a new file in Crystal Reports 9. If I click File - Save or File - Save As nothing happens, I am never prompted for a location to save the file. If I close, I am prompted to save (Yes or No), if I click Yes nothing happens.
Anyone ever experienced this issue before?

I would suggest you to manually register u201CFiledialog.dllu201D as follows:
1. Click 'Start' then 'Run'.
2. Type the following with quotes as shown:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\bin\filedialog.dll"
The following confirmation appears: "DLLRegisterServer in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ Business Objects\3.0\bin\filedialog.dll succeeded".
Note :Path of filedialog.dll will be not exactly same because it depends on the versions.

Unable to save a report in Unified Intelligence Center

Hello,
When I generate any report it displays fine but when I tried saving it using IE9.0 64 or 256 bit it tries to save the report but the status stays as "Saving New Report Agent detail report" until I close the browser. I'm able to save the report using the Firefox browser. Please let me know if there are any browser settings I need to modify.

Not sure, you can try adjusting some compatability settings in IE9.

Unable to Save Crystal Reports(With Dynamic Parameters to Infoview)

I am using Crystal Reports 2008 and BOXI 3.1. I have 5 dynamic parameters and can't save my report to Infoview, but If I use Static parameter then I am able to save it.

Sorry, but no one can help you except the previous owner. They must either give you the ID and password, or erase it and remove it from their account as explained in the article you were reading. There is no way around it.

Unable to save alias

As a new user I set up my iCloud account a few months ago. I have today tried to create an alias but I just keep getting the error message "Unable to save alias at this time"...
From trawling through the message boards I have seen this was a problem for previous ME.com users, and some people have sporaidcally had some success. However there is nothing posted since November 2012 on this and I wondered if I have missed something??? Any advice/help would be much appreciated

It seems to be an ongoing problem with some people having success. I've never had an ME account so it can't be anything to do with rolling out the icloud to replace the me.com email addresses. Its really frustrating as I need to get at least one alias up and running.

Discoverer Report unable to Save As

Its giving the following error message.

Hi Ram
Most likely you are on either a non-upgraded or old cumulative patch version of Discoverer. This issue happens a lot on the out-of-the-box Discoverer - 10.1.2.48.18 but goes away when you upgrade to 10.1.2.2. You should also patch up to the most recent cumulative patch, which as of today is CP8.

Unable to save Infoview pdf reports in Windows Vista

Good morning,
My coworker needs to be able to save Infoview pdf reports from her Windows Vista PC, but she is presently unable to. She was able to save the reports fine previously from the Windows XP PC she used to have.
Following are the steps taken to arrive at the problem:
1) On a Windows Vista PC, browse to: https://wyinf.hostams.com/InfoViewApp/logon.jsp
2) Logon with appropriate credentials.
3) Navigate to: All > Public Folders > WY WOLFS Reports > Double-click on one of the listed Adobe Acrobat .pdf reports.
4) Now the pdf report is open within the web browser, and "BUSINESSOBJECTS INFOVIEW" is the title above the pdf report.
5) Click on the "Save" button - Nothing happens or appears. (After clicking on the save button, a window should launch that lets you save the pdf file to a desired location. This works fine on Windows XP)
If any of you know of any workarounds to this problem or any settings I could adjust to fix this, please let me know.

Hello,
The error message occurs because the user or group who created the LOV does not have the appropriate rights in Business View Manager.
Try this hope its helps
To resolve this issue follow the steps,
1.Log on to Business View Manager as administrator.
2.Click View > Repository Explorer.
3.Right-click Dynamic Cascading Prompts. Click Edit Rights.
4.Click the appropriate user or group receiving the error.
5.Click the Granted option for the right to View, Edit & Set Security rights.
6.Click OK. Close Business View Manager.
The user or group is now able to save a report with dynamic parameters to Enterprise.

Unable to save the webi report results in CSV file in XIR2 environment

Hi Team,
We have one WebI report in BOXIR2 version and it fetching nearly 76+ records in the report. The report is running fine without any issues and when i am trying to export the results into CSV file we are getting the error msg (Maximum Binary file size exceeded WIS30271). The file size is more than 80MB and hence it throwing this error. I have checked the Maximun Binary File size that is set in CMC and it is set to 80MB.
When i ran the same query in the database and exporting the results in to csv file the file size is under 80MB. I would like to know the reason why there is a difference in the file size when running the query manually in database and exporting in to csv file and to export the results set in to csv through business objects.

Below are the possible causes to get this error message:
1] When a large Web Intelligence report is exported to CSV format, we get error: Max Binary file size limit exceeded. The document is too large to be processed by the server. Error WIS 30271
Cause
This error message appears because BusinessObjects Enterprise allows documents to be saved with the limit specified for Web Intelligence Report server settings in the Central Management Console(CMC).
To resolve the error follow the below steps:
- Login to Central Management Console (CMC) using BusinessObjects Enterprise "Administrator".
- Navigate to "Home >> Servers".
- Click on "Web Intelligence Report Server" to open its properties.
- Increase the "Maximum Binary File Size"(Default value=50 MBytes; Maximum value = 65535 MBytes).
- Click on "Apply" and then on "Update".
- Allow the Web Intelligence server to restart.
2] In Web Intelligence, when attempting to save a report to Excel or Portable Document Format (PDF), the following error message appears:
"Max binary file size limit exceeded. The document is too large to be processed by the server. Contact your database administrator. (Error: WIS 30271)".
Cause:
This error message appears because Business Objects Enterprise allows documents to be saved up to the limit set for Web Intelligence Report Server in the Central Management Console (CMC). The default file size limit is 50 megabytes for binary file types like PDF and Excel.
To resolve this error message, you will need to increase the Max Binary file size value.
1.      Open the CMC.
2.      Browse to Servers
3.      Click on your Web Intelligence Report Server.
4.      On the Properties page, increase the Maximum Binary File Size.
5.      Apply the setting and allow the Web Intelligence Report Server to restart.
Increasing these values too high could impact Web Intelligence performance when users attempt to save excessively large files.

This environment can't save WA report (Both on edit and create new report, but use LCM import WA Report is OK).
I don't know what wrong with it, WA Studio GUI just display:
can't save error (when edit)or popup a save window but no response (when create new)......
No more detail information.

So, let me post it here:
The issue is reported by several customers. Please check the solution listed below: "Basic repository consistency verification tests detected a number of "lost" or "unused" records in Web Analysis metadata DB tables. These records however can cause an issue when new data is written in the repository tables on "Save As" action. If customer performed repository content migration, then current repository state could be a result of that migration phase. There is a special SQL script designed to clean up Web Analysis metadata tables in repository (sent by email). It is designed to remove all redundant/unused records from WA tables and reset internal document counters.
We recommend client doing WA metadata cleanup in order to fix the problem."
