Unable to save current orgchart

Hi,
We are using OrgChart 3.0 SP1
I get the following warning when I try to save current orgchart and there aren't any other previously saved items.
"You have exceeded the maximum number of saved items for your user profile. Remove a previously saved item before saving a new one."
Is this because we're using "Store user preferences in cookie" as the user preference storage option and the maximum size for cookies is 4KB?
Is there a way to change the maximum size for cookies? We're not able to save any of the orgcharts when they're expanded.

The 4Kb limitation is a browser one, not a Nakisa one.

Ideally, you should look to store user preferences in a DB but of course this requires some tablespace (somewhere). Using a DB offers advantages on size and also means preferences are available wherever you log in (as opposed to cookie which is stored on a local PC). Also if you are in a Citrix env then cookies don't "travel" with you between Citrix app servers which causes the user to get strange behaviour.

Error message when try to save current OrgChart

Hi,
There're three clients for Nakisa SP3 in our company: sandbox, development, testing. When I tried to save current OrgChart, there're different error message appears in different clients.
In Sandbox, there's an error message "Can not save ..."
In Testing, we could save only one current orgchart, and an error " You have exceeded the maximum number of saved items for your user profile. Remove a previously saved item before saving a new one. " appears when we try to save another one.
Could you please let me know why we have different errors in different clients? And where we could set up the maximum saved items in the console?

Hi Rory,
This is a bug with database limitations which I understand may have been resolved. Request the latest build from SAP Support (raise an OSS message under part XX-PART-NKS).

Unable to save current file I am working on

This has never happened before. I have been working on a file today, the only one open in CS3 (and nowhere else) and I get an error message saying "could not save because the file is already in use or left open.
Any ideas what is going on? Thanks.

One possibility could be Windows Indexing. It will "lock" files that it is trying to index. Large image files can be problematic. First, Windows Indexing cannot gather any data from these (like it can from a .DOC, etc.), and it will keep trying.
The trick is to turn Windows Indexing OFF. This is done from the Properties dialog screen for that HDD. I have it OFF for ALL HDD's. Back in XP, you needed to do this for "All Folders and Sub-folders," but I think that Vista will do that by default.
The second trick is to get a cup of coffee, while not touching the computer and NOT changing the file in any way. Let Windows Indexing finish its "thing," and then Save again. It should be unlocked by then.
Because I do a lot of Video editing, Premiere generates plenty of giant files, that change frequently. Indexing will lock each and every one of these. I cannot wait - so Indexing is always OFF on every one of my HDD's, including all externals. Still image editing is not that often affected, but your timing can be off, especially if you just made changes to that file and Indexing caught that change.
Give that a try, and see if your error doesn't go away.

Unable to save PDF - Internet Explorer Protected Mode "A file error has occurred"

I hope you can all assist! Here's the detail:
Reader XI (11.0.06) and deployed as physical installation (.msi)
Windows 7 x64 Enterprise
Internet Explorer 8 & 9
Opening PDF's from HTTP & HTTPS locations
Users are unable to save the PDF file to their chosen location (network share or local directory) "A file error has occurred".
When the Internet Explorer Protected Mode is switched off, users are able to save the file to their chosen location.
Is this is specific functionality of IE Protected Mode whereby the ActiveX control is being restricted.
Is this due to Enhanced security within the Adobe Reader 11.0.06 application?
Our current Reader version (9.3.0) is able to save files from unprotected locations, so this is creates a problem justify upgrading.
Do anyone have any suggestions?

How are you saving the file (right click or from File menu)? Does the problem happen with any PDF file? Does the problem go away if you turn "Enable Protected Mode at startup" from Reader (Preferences > Security (Enhanced)?

Unable to save permission changes in templates in win 2012

Hi,
PKI set up of (2003 and 2008) based Sub CA and 2003 based AD ( with schema version supporting 2008) is running in the enviornment. Now CA is migrating to 2012 setup. When i try to create template and make permission changes, it says " unable to save
permission changes. Directory object not found". When i duplicate and save the template with name change and wait for 10-15 min and then open that template again and make permission changes, it works.
Just wanted to know if this is because of some feature issue and will it get resolved if AD is upgraded to 2012 schema.

As Brian said, this is likely due to replication delays. Updating the
schema version is not likely going to resolve this. If you know how to work
around the issue then I wouldn't worry about it too much. Creating new
certificate templates should not be a frequent task.

I have SP 2013 intranet sites.
I am trying to edit the list item in site and getting the error "The server was unable to save the form at this time. Please try again."
I read many article on this forum. to chck web.config file, to restart
“SharePoint Search Hosting Controller” But no help.
Still i am getting this. what could be the reason now.
Please provide the resolution. I am trying to resolve this from last two days.

Normally, there's something wrong with the form responsible for editing list items. Is it customized? If not, you could use the free SharePoint Designer tool to delete the current form, create a new one (wait some time before caching issues are solved)
and you should be good to go. If it is customized, contact the team responsible for managing it.

Unable to save the ALV layout variant and display of selection screen on F4

The end user wants to directly select the layout variant (SLIS_VARI). I have used the following code to display the layout variant on selection screen. But, I am unable to save the variant on ALV. Whenever I am trying to select the layout variants (by doing F4 on selection screen) its displaying "No Layout found".

The F4 will display you the existing layouts only. So you need to save the layout first & then execute the report again & check if you are getting F4 values for that field.
The Layout needs to get stored with variant.

Unable to save data entered in editable field of IW37N output

I have made one of the fields in IW37N ALV output as editable using exit IWOC0004. When I enter the values in the field, I am unable to save the data to the order. The orders are getting successfully released but the values entered are not saved in database. Please help.

Discovered that the problem was with the Adobe version. Updated version to 8.1.1 and installed Active X control software and things started working.

It sounds like if you open Preferences in Word there will be a place where you can specify where to store autorecover files. Right now it sounds like it's pointing to somewhere that doesn't exist.

I have been running Office 2004 on my Intel iMac with Snow Leopard for some time and all of a sudden I cannot save a document. Word just stopped responding and I have to force quit. I can open Word and create a new document but I cannot save it. I reinstalled Word but that didn’t help. Then went to the Internet and found at least one other Mac user having the same problem which it suggests is caused by a recent Mac Security Update:

So I check for a new Mac Security Update and sure enough there was one. I downloaded it and now Word seems to be working, as it should. I can both open and save files. The only problem remaining is that when I open Word I get the following error message “An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework library”. I contacted Apple but they were unable to help.
How can I get rid of this error message?

Look, I realize you might have to get your machine working, so this is how you revert back.
Restore proceedure to pre-Security Update 2012-001 v 1.0 & v 1.1
#1 Backup your personal data off the machine.
Backup files off the computer (not to TimeMachine). If you don't have a external drive, get one and connect to the USB/Firewire port and simply drag and drop copy your User folder to the external drive, it will copy all your files. It's best to have two backups of your data off the machine when trying to restore.
Disconnect all drives now to prevent any mistakes from occuring.
#2 Reinstall OS X 10.6 from disk
Get out your 10.6 install disk and make sure it's clean and polished (very soft cloth and a bit of rubbing alcohol, no scratches) If your disk is borked, you'll have to order a new one from Apple with your serial number.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk (wired keyboard, internal optical drive), use Disk Utility First Aid to >Repair Disk of your internal drive (do not format or erase!!), Quit DU and simply re-install 10.6.
Note: Simply reinstalling 10.6 version from disk (without erasing the drive) only replaces 10.6.8 with 10.6.x and bundled Apple programs, won't touch your files (backup anyway) or most programs, unless they installed a kext file into OS X itself. (only a few on average do this)
#3 Update to 10.6.8 without Security Update 2012-001 v1.0 or v1.1
Reboot and log in, update to 10.6.8 via Software Update, but EXCLUDE THE Security Update 2012-001 by checkinig the details and unchecking the blue check box.
#4 Reinstall any non-working third party programs
When you reboot, make sure to reinstall any programs that require kext files installed into OS X, you'll know, they won't work when you launch them or hang for some reason as they are missing the part they installed into OS X.
If for some freakish reason you get gray screen at any time when booting (possible it might occur when you reinstall older programs), hold the shift key down while booting (Safe Mode, disables kext files) and update your installed third party software so it's compatible with 10.6.8.

Discoverer Report unable to Save As

Hi,
I am unable to save a Discoverer Report using Discoverer Viewer ?
Its giving the following error message.
Please help.
"The application encountered an invalid state.
OracleBI Discoverer Viewer was unable to find the necessary data for displaying
the results of this event. Please correct any errors and try again.

Hi Ram
Most likely you are on either a non-upgraded or old cumulative patch version of Discoverer. This issue happens a lot on the out-of-the-box Discoverer - 10.1.2.48.18 but goes away when you upgrade to 10.1.2.2. You should also patch up to the most recent cumulative patch, which as of today is CP8.
