Unable to save Flash/shockwave/reader & air to a EXE file to install later

It is me or what, I work in a enironment where we have to download and update client computer with Adobe Flash , Air etc. But In order to do this, we need to first save the file to the local drive and then "RUN AS administrator" === No i am unable to do that in Microsofte IE or Firefire fox.
Any anyone tell me how to force it to manually ask me to save it to a file or disable the autoinstall/launch

Concerning Adobe AIR, you have to ask in that forum.

you can now implement a standard windows installer (ie a native installer, rather than the AIR installer) when users install your AIR app. Not sure if there's an option to do this in flex/flash builder but it can be done via command line.

Updating Flash - 'error has been encountered' and exe file vanishes

On an Aspire one netbook that I've not used for some time, so loads was out of date. I've just updated firefox, and that was fine.
But I keep getting warning messages about adobe flash being out of date and vulnerable, so have tried to update that too. I've tried about half a dozen times, and every time manage to download the update exe file, but every time it fails to fully install and gives this message: "Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again."
I've gone back to the download page, and checked various possible causes. I've closed firefox first - no difference. The exe file seemed to vanish from the downloads folder, so this last time I copied it to the desktop. After the error message appears - the exe file has disappeared from the desktop. Weird.
I've tried switching off the warning message on the webpage (in case that was also blocking the newly downloaded file even when I wasn't connected to the internet, but it doesn't seem to make any difference).
Maybe I don't really care whether adobe is working or not, as I don't use the netbook much anyway - but I feel very uneasy with that warning message on so many web pages. I've tried searching forums, but it was all a bit beyond me.

Unable to save preferences in Reader 8.1.1

I keep having to reset my preferences for View/Page Display/Single Page Continuous as every time I use Reader 8.1.1 as it resets to View/Page Display/Single Page?.
Is there a Windows XP Pro SP2 Registry setting that I can use to reset this behavior either to accept my preference as the default or to set my preferences within the Registry to Single Page Continuous? It is very frustrating and time consuming to have to set this every time I view a PDF.

I have the same problem on Adobe Reader 7.0.9. I open the Reader (no document loaded) Edit> Preferences> Page Display> set Default Zoom=100% and click OK. If I view Preferences again (without closing) it's still 100%. Close Adobe Reader, re-open and Default Zoom is back to "Automatic". Very annoying!
Tested several other preferences and some of them save and some don't, e.g. in Preferences >Full Screen I tick "Advance every 5 seconds" and tick "Show Navigation Bar". Save, close Adobe, re-open and "Advance every 5 seconds" is not ticked while "Show Navigation Bar" is!
This is independent of any document settings as I never opened a single doc in the whole process.
Will Adobe acknowledge there is a problem here? Do they bother to read the forums? Looks like this problem has not been fixed in version 8. Very poor!

I just started getting the "Document could not be saved. The disk you were saving to or the disk used for temporary files is full. Free some space on this disk and try again, or save to a different disk" message.
I am running Windows 8. I've seen fixes for this on the Internet for previous versions of Windows on the Internet, but haven't seen one that works for Windows 8. Help, please.

I'm not the most tech-savvy creature on the planet, so bear with me.
For a while now, I've been unable to save or download files using Firefox. IE isn't working either, but I only initially used IE on this computer to download Firefox anyway. I've tried the [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Unable%20to%20download%20or%20save%20files suggested options].
I'm not incapable of downloading though - Steam and the Blizzard launcher are still working as always. AVG's updating download, hoever, doesn't appear to work. On occasion, I have been able to download things - VLC Media Player and seldomly an item I attempt to download will successfully be saved. It's so infrequent and unpredictable though, that I can't reliably find out what's allowing me to do so. Needless to say, since my virus and spyware scanners appear to be borked, I'm more than a touch worried and unable to download any suggested alternatives.
When downloading a file, it will briefly appear in the location I saved it to before vanishing. I ask now because my computer's performance has seriously dropped within the last month or so, and I'm not convinced I'll be able to sort it out while I'm so thoroughly grounded without downloads.

I play an online game called runescape. For one month now, i've been searching up on google, EVERYWHERE, trying to find help so i can play my game again.
I get up to a point where the game loads the game script, and on 100% comes up with an error "Error_loader_savefile - Unable to save to cache". I've tried everything, i've installed almost all of the java versions, I've been through environment variable settings and made sure that the PATH is pointing to a version of java, What can i do, im desperate for help, please post back. I'm getting this error when internet explorer launches the Java activex control. Anyone know what causes this or how to resolve it?
I've tried clearing the cache, didn't help. I've identified a pc that doesn't have the problem, looked at the java console, everything was the same.

Shockwave *.msi redistributable older then *.exe redistributable

I'm, allowed to deploy free Adobe products (Flash, Shockwave, Reader) at no costs within our intranet. Today I recognized that the full installers on the licensing site contains diffenrent versions. The sw_lic_full_installer.msi file installs a older version then sw_lic_full_installer.exe.
Any ideas when they will update the sw_lic_full_installer.msi installer?

I'm not talking about the timestamps. I downloaded both files directly from the licensensing site yesterday, right before I opened this thread. The *.msi file install version 11.5.8.612 if I install the *.exe file I got the version 11.5.9.615. As far as I remember the last release of the new version was 29. Oct. 2010 so I wonder how long they need to update the *.msi file.

Unable to open .exe files in tutorials

Having a problem opening a .exe file from a tutorial in a year 9 maths book that is meant to be able to be opened from any version of adobe reader. Currently running reader X

Adobe Reader doesn't open EXE files. If it's an attachment to a PDF file, they've been blocked for security reasons since version 9.3.3

Unable to save document as (Flash CS5 - BUG - OSX)

I have upgraded my CS4 to CS5 on MAC OSX and i'm having problems saving new and existing fla files. It doesnt always do it but it's very anoying when you have done some work and are unable to save it.
I get this message:
unable to save document as (file name)
please try saving to a different filename or location.
even if i try to save as to a different location i get the same message, this ONLY happens in flash CS5 and does not do it on any other application or even flash CS4. To put it bluntly i am absolutely furious with this and when you pay this amount of money should not get this hassle for such a simple action.
I have tried phoneing the adobe support line and it's a joke, you can't even understand the operator to even get anywhere and i just gave up having to repeat myself and asking them to repeat themselves.
I would be grateful if someone out there knows an answer to this or have a contact email for adobe support that i can email them direct. As a flash developer it's critical i can get on with my work without worrying if my work will even save.

UPDATE: I can save files in CS5 as CS4 documents but not as CS5, this is so annoying.

I am having this same issue with Window 7 Professional 64 bit.
It seems I can reproduce it pretty reliably but have only seen it since I started working with trying to import and export runtime shared font libraries.
I create a new fla
I create a font asset in the library and set it to import and specify a relative path to the shared swf.
I save and test my swf and it works.
I go back into the font asset and change the location of the font swf to another relative path (this file is loaded into a shell so the raltive path will change).
After changing that import path I can no longer save the file even if I revert back to the previous value.
I have repeated this process a couple of times.
