  • "Could not complete the Video Frames to Layers command because the movie file could not be opened."

    I'm using Photoshop CS5 extended.
I've been using that to make gifs. It was fine when I import video frams into layers with the video formats of .mov or .avi. But After I installed OSX 10.6.8, this message comes up everytime I want to import videos: "Could not complete the Video Frames to Layers command because the movie file could not be opened."
So I installed my old OS back which is 10.6.3 but the problem is still there.
May I know what to do to solve this problem because all along I've been fine with making gifs and importing videos until now.
    Please help, thank you.

The computer deities may be trying to say something to you.  GIF is not a video format.
Are you opening video with the same codec that was successfully opened before?

  • Is there a way to save photos from lightroom without the original file?

I recently imported photos into lightroom, but I failed to save the original files on my computer and they are deleted from my card.  The pictures are still showing up in lightroom.  Is there a way to save them from lightroom without the original file?

Your images aren't - and never were - in Lightroom, they're just referenced in Lightroom's database.
Lightroom does generate jpeg previews of the originals though, and you can export those using Rob Cole's Preview Exporter plugin: robcole.com - PreviewExporter.
To be clear though, these aren't the originals.

  • When I create a bookmark with Command-D, I am unable to save it into a folder -- the list of folders does not appear.

When I hit command-D, the "page bookmarked" window appears as usual, but the area where you normally see a list of bookmark folders is empty.
When I look at all my bookmarks (Bookmarks >Organize Bookmarks), the folder called "All Bookmarks" appears as an ordinary folder without the green-book-with-a-star icon icon.
The folder with that unique green book icon is present, but is within the Bookmarks Menu folder. And it is empty.

If that isn't clear, I can post a screenshot.

  • Unable to save PDF - Internet Explorer Protected Mode "A file error has occurred"

    Hi,
I hope you can all assist! Here's the detail:
Reader XI (11.0.06) and deployed as physical installation (.msi)
    Windows 7 x64 Enterprise
    Internet Explorer 8 & 9
Opening PDF's from HTTP & HTTPS locations
Users are unable to save the PDF file to their chosen location (network share or local directory) "A file error has occurred".
When the Internet Explorer Protected Mode is switched off, users are able to save the file to their chosen location.
Is this is specific functionality of IE Protected Mode whereby the ActiveX control is being restricted.
Is this due to Enhanced security within the Adobe Reader 11.0.06 application?
Our current Reader version (9.3.0) is able to save files from unprotected locations, so this is creates a problem justify upgrading.
    Do anyone have any suggestions?
Look forward to any assistance or suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Simon.

    Hi Simon,
How are you saving the file (right click or from File menu)?  Does the problem happen with any PDF file?  Does the problem go away if  you turn "Enable Protected Mode at startup" from Reader (Preferences > Security (Enhanced)?

  • Unable to access process variable value in the DXFA file

    Hi,
I am using the On-Demand-Assembly solution accelerator to stitch forms. I am trying to access a process variable inside the dxfa file.
This is the syntax i used: <c:forEach var="templateItem" items="${requestScope.paramsMap.templateList}"> The templateList value is not being fetched. The same code works fine if I hard code the items.
paramsMap is set as the Parameters Map variable in the invokeODADocument service.
Any suggestions on what I might be missing here??
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Vidya

    Vidya Kesavan,
Just a shot in the dark here, but I think you may have a typo in "requestScropt.paramsMap.templateList" where "paramsMap" should be "paramsmap" in the context of the CSC template. That could be the cause, making it impossible for ODA to find the variable you're referencing. (I believe it's "paramsmap" within the CSC regardless of what name you have the Parameter Map process variable.)

  • File open menu will not open local files using open command but the same files will open if I double click them (permissions seem fine)

Under File menu Open File will not open local files even those downloaded to the desktop by Firefox 5.
If I double click on HTML file it does open
Reinstalled. Same behaviour. Default Browser set correctly.
    Permissions set correctly. Odd behaviour.

Are you sure it hasn't imported?
Check for the track names (trackname only, not Album or Artist)) and see if they have a blank Artist and Album, because WAV files have no MetaData, so are kind of stupid as far as knowing anything about the Artist, Album & track id.
You can't search by 'Untitled' either as there is literally, no name at all, but iTunes does pick up the actual physical track name in Finder and uses that. As an example, if you renamed your Aerosmith WAV file from say 'Toys In The Attic' to 'Love Song' it would import the track as 'Love Song' as that's all it can go by.
There are a few iTunes AppleScripts that let you import from a file of WAV music, by looking at the enclosing Album in the enclosing Artist as that's how most PC progs create the WAV file structure.

  • A few pages (seemingly random) have gone grey and I am unable to save or export anything from the document this is a 200+ page document, how may i fix it?

This is how it appears with several pages.

Try creating a new document with the same page size and margins.
In the troubled document use the Layout>Pages>Move Pages
Select all pages - and choose the destination to be your new document.
If you can move all your pages - see if you can export/save that document.

  • Unable to Save Asset category while assigning the Corp Book

    Hi FA Experts,
am getting below error message while defining asset category for corp book.below is the error msg. can any one help me on this ?
APP-OFA-47227 You must set uo the category with default depreciation rules for at least one date range
    Thanks

The Default Rules will have to be set up in the Define Categories form, even if the assets to be
linked to the category are not supposed to depreciate.
    One can do the following:
    1. Navigate to: Setup > Depreciation > Methods
Set up a 0% flat rate method based on cost with: basic rate: 0 %, adjusted rate 0 %
    2. Define the Default Rules for the category by attaching that new depreciation method and also
    unchecking the depreciate flag. Save.

  • Can not use the ibfind command in the c file using the usb gpib

can communicate with instruments in max but not with labwindows. ibfind commands doesn't work. any suggestions?

Can you be more specific? What error occurs with IBFIND?
You should probably be using IBDEV instead: see the NI-488.2 for Windows help on your start menu (Programs, National Instruments, NI-488.2) and look up both IBDEV and IBFIND to see the difference.
Also, using NI-Spy will allow you to see what API calls MAX is making; you can copy them in your LabWindows program so that they both work.
Post here if you need more assistance.

  • Unable to save a copy

OK I have a weird issue.  I was sent a link in my e-mail (I am using Outlook 2010 Beta).  When I click on the link it opens IE8 and opens the PDF.  I am unable to save it when I hit the save a copy as button.  However if I pull the link directly out of the e-mail and open IE8 it will allow me to save it or if I just click on the title bar and hit enter (mainly refreshing it) it will allow me to save.  I was hoping there was a way I could save without haveing to take the extra steps.

I'm having a similar problem when I try to save my credit card statements from the credit card webpage.  But only on certain statements!  I click on the link and the PDF file opens in a new tab (IE8).  The Reader pulldown menus don't appear, so I can't choose File/Save (or Help), but when I click on the "save a copy" icon (the little diskette), NOTHING HAPPENS!  No error message, nothing.  (I haven't tried the print icon.)  I've searched for the default name of the file on my computer, in case AR might be bypassing the save as window that normally pops up and saving it somewhere under the default name, but it's not found.
Right-clicking on the links doesn't work--"save target as" is grayed out.  But this is true for all the links, whether they can be saved with AR or not.
As I say, this only happens on certain files.  My June and July statements, for example, save fine (clicking on the save icon brings up the usual save as window).  But not the May or August statements.  There's no rhyme or reason to it.  The links all appear together on the same page.
This only became a problem with my new computer, running Windows 7 and AR 9.1.  In addition, the copies of the same files saved earlier to my HDD (using XP and an earlier version--I think--of AR)  all save fine when I re-open them now with AR 9.1.  It's only a problem when AR is launched by IE after I click on the link to the document.  I can't see any difference between the documents (saved earlier) when I view their properties.  I can't view the properties of the online documents because the pulldown menus don't appear when AR is launched by IE (which is a nuisance, BTW--is there some way to force them to appear?).
Any suggestions for a workaround until this bug is fixed would be much appreciated!
Update:  I went back to my old computer to verify that I can still save the problematic PDF statements.  I can.  However, I discovered that the version of AR is actually version 9.2.0.  The version of IE running on that machine is 8.0.6001.18702.
I also discovered that sometime after I last checked the version of AR on my new machine (the one I'm having trouble saving with), it got upgraded (without my knowledge or consent, which is irritating as hell) to version 9.2.0.  So both machines are running the same version of AR.  My new machine is running IE version 8.0.7600.16385.  (I also confirmed that my new machine still can't save certain PDF files from the credit card website.
    Summary
Working machine (save works):                                Windows XP; AR version 9.2.0; IE version 8.0.6001.18702
Non-working machine (save works sporadically):   Windows 7;    AR version 9.2.0; IE version 8.0.7600.16385

  • Unable to save info record

    hello guru's
i am unable to save info record
it is asking for planned delivery time in days even if i enter values there i am unable to save
    regards

    Hi,
Be careful, if the message is saying something like "mandatory field must be maintained" or similar (I can't remember the full text). DON'T assume that the cursor is indicating the field that is blank and should be filled.
Look for other mandatory fields on the screen (try entering data in each until the system allows ytou to continue). It won't be the planned delivery period if you have entered a value it will be another field.
It could be "standard qty" etc.

  • Flash CS6 - Unable to save document (to windows server) [OSX Mavericks]

Since updating to OSX Mavericks, I've been unable to save to our network server (HP Proliant with raid 6 running Windows 2008 R2).
I can save to any given filename once (open an old file from pre-OSX update and then save / create a new file and then save it as something) - any subsequent saves to that file name result in a warning dialogue box similar to this:
The original FLA will also corrupt during the attempted save process. The file size will also bloat.
For example my intial test file is listed as 211KB in finder
I open it perform an amend and save it once - that works fine. My file is still 211KB in finder
I then reopen it for another amend and attempt to save.
The unable to save warning dialogue appears. The file is now 421KB in finder and corrupt.
If I try to resave after the first file save fails the file continues to bloat.
e.g. if I attempt to save it another twice the file will now show as 843KB in finder and still be corrupt

    Hi,
While this issue is being fixed, you can recover the corrupted files by following the below steps
    1. Change the file extension of your corrupted fla to zip eg: corrupt.fla to corrupt.zip
    2. Extract the zip file
    3. Open the xfl file from the extracted folder in Flash CC(you will see the file is of up to date and non-corrupted)
    Other trivial work-arounds:
    1. Save your file as .xfl(uncompressed fla) instead of .fla
    2. Connect your shared location via afp protocol on Mac 10.9 whereever-possible
    3. Use Mac 10.8 or lower versions if-possible
    Thanks!

  • Save A Copy Command

I've got an indesign files which is over 200MB, I used the "save a copy" command and the file size has reduced to 70MB, can anyone tell me why that happens? Thanking you!

    > which you could have used Undo to step backwards with...
    Not part of the file.
Saving a 200 MB or larger file, especially over a network, can take a while and force you to pause, maybe up to a minute, when saving. Not only is that annoying, it's a disincentive to sae, which can be much worse than annoying. So InDesign saves your changes to the file, which are usually a very small amount of data relative to the file size. Save As when you're done with the file to get he size down.
