Unable to scan from hp laser jet 3030 with lion 10.7

I have a new Macbook Pro running Lion 10.7.  I can print from my HP Laserjet 3030 All In One,  but cannot scan.  HP Director does not show a connected printer.  I know HP is not supporting this printer/scanner in Lion 10.7, but is there a third party scanner software, or other workaround?  I want to scan both documents via the doc feeder (B&W) and high (well sort of high res) res 1200 dpi color.  thanks.

Microsoft Office. Epson Scan, Canon software won't work with Lion OS

Microsoft office 2008 and later work fine on Lion. Office 2004 is a PowerPC application. PPC apps are no longer supported and Lion does not include Rosetta, which was required to run them on OS X. I imagine the Epson / Canon software you are trying to use is the same. Check with them to see if updates are available.

  • I am unable to scan from my HP all in one printer/scanner

Since installing Mavericks I am unable to scan using my HP printer/scanner.  I have uninstalled the software and tried to just use Apple method - but really cannot find out how to scan and save.  Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Unable to scan from the printer control panel to my computer using the HP Photosmart 5510

Hi, I recently purchased the new HP Photosmart 5510 All in One --- and I’m not able to scan from my printer to my computer. I am however able to scan by initiating the scan from the computer. I spoke to HP customer care earlier this evening and we ran the print + scan doctor and did not find any problems. I’m running Windows 7 – 64bit and have installed my printer wirelessly using the Installation CD that came with the printer today. I wasn’t able to finish troubleshooting with the technician I spoke to because I had to leave for work. The Person I spoke with suggested possibly downloading the Full Feature Software from the hp.com website, which I’m happy to do but I feel that it is unnecessary because I have the install CD right here. (The rep I spoke to was very nice but I’d rather not have to uninstall and reinstall if it is not necessary) Because as I mentioned above, everything else works perfectly and I am able to scan --- just not directly from the printer itself.  When I'm trying to scan from my printer to my computer an error message comes up on the printer's control panel stating that: there is no scan destinations selected/no scan options. However, I can not find anywhere with my HP software where I could add/ensure that the destinations were there. (Like I could on my other printers. (Ie. Through the Solution Center) This printer does not seem to have a Solution Center that I could find and the Scanner Icon that was installed with the CD does not give me any options in terms of modifying the scanner settings I’m wondering: 1. Does the Hp Photosmart 5510 not have the capability to scan from the printer’s control panel? 2. OR Does the install CD that came with my printer only have the basic drivers like the tech support agent suggested? Which means in order to scan from my printer I’d have to download the drivers from your hp website? 3. Or is the issue due to something else completely?  Thanks for your help!

Hi Dublin, Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall the printer. 1. Open Control Panel2. Click on Uninstall a program3. Uninstall the Photosmart 6510 from the list4. Reboot your computer5. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html 6. Download the full feature software and drivers, and then reinstall the printer. Version 28.8

  • Cannot start scan from HP Office Jet Pro 8620 since upgrading to Windows 10

I updated to Windows 10 Home 64 bit. I can scan if it is started from the PC on the HP Printer Assistant. But cannot start a scan from the front panel on the 8620 printer,it times out and gives errors"The scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following issues-connection to the computer is lost-The scan application on the computer is currently in use- OCR application is not installed on the computerSee the computer monitor for details" Nothing is displayed on the computer monitor. How do I get scan to work on the printer without initiating it from the PC?

Hi, Please check that the Software is installed, you can download the software from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8620-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5367611/model/5367613#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930C7 Once installed, can you start up your printer software and under Scan, there is a "Manage Scan to Computer" tab.  Click on the "Manage Scan to Computer" tab and make sure it is enabled.  Hope that helps! Please click the “Kudos Thumbs up” on the left if this has helped you and “Accept as solution” if this has helped solved your problem.

  • I can not install my wireless P2015 dn Laser Jet Printer with the MS 7 software.

For three years the P2015 worked "wireless"on my Lenovo T60p with microsoft XP.  It ran through my wireless router and printed fine.
I just updates the software to MS 7 (32 bits, 2007) and the printer will not run off the router.  I hooked the printer up directly by cord, downloaded the printer drivers off the MS 7 software and it worked fine while attached.  The router works fine with MS 7 for the internet and the email on my computer and the two other computers (still MS XP) on the router.
I tried installing the 2015nd Laser Jet using the CD driver it came with originally and I come to a screen "searching for available printers" and there is nothing in the box below to choose from (blank screen).  It goes though a "searching for available printers" routine and finally the message come up "No printers were found".  This same thing occurs when I try downloading from the HP Web site drivers.  I get the same screens and the same results.
What do I need to do?  (I am a beginning level of computer knowledge)

    Hi Edronenburg,
Even though the software installer can not find your printer automatically, you can still install the printer if you know the IP address.
If you press and hold the "Go" button on the control panel for several seconds (until the lights begin flashing) the config page will print. On this page you can find the IP address of the printer that has been assigned by the router. During the software install, instead of having the installer automatically search for the printer, choose to manually enter the IP address. This should allow the software install to complete successfully.

  • What HP LASER PRINTERS WORK WITH LION?

I just upgraded to Lion and now none of my existing HP printers will work...  Does anyone know what HP printers will work with Lion?

Is Apple in  cahoots with HP to make us all buy new HP printers?
Considering HP provides the drivers and Apple just ships them, I'm not sure you can blame Apple.
    Glade you found a solution.
By the way, I've been using an HP M1536dnf black & white laser printer, scaner, fax attached via ethernet into my router.  After HP released updated Lion drivers, it has worked find for all the multi-function printer functions over the network.  It also supports Airprint from my iPod Touch (after I applied an HP provided firmware upgrade to the printer).

  • Unable to print to HP laser jet 3600 from Mavericks

I receive an error about legacy USB driver when I try to print.
Deleted printer and re-installed - same problem.
Looked on HP and Apple for support - but not joy.  It just says to update via ASU - but there are no updates to install.
Apple website advises that 3600 should work fine with Mavericks
    Very frustrating.
    Any ideas most welcome.

Thanks Arthur! This worked beautifully. Thanks for the easy to follow step by step.
Here's how you reset the HP3600N printer to factory settings:
    Turn off printer.
Turn on printer with checkmark button depressed.
Release button when all the lights come on 'Solid'.
Change Select Language on the printer screen to Cold Reset.
    Press the checkmark button.
The printer will return to factory settings.

  • Unable to scan from my HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus to my Mac iOS 10.10

Just purchased a new Mac and running Yosemite. Tried adding my 8600 and it prints but will not scan. When attempting to scan to computer, a message "The HP software required for Scan to Computer could not be located on this computer. Please download and install the latest HP recommended software for your device from http://www.hp.com/support, and then try again." When I follow the link, it directs me to download the driver again.....and the cycle begins. I have tried completely uninstalling everything according to previous suggestions in the forum but nothing has helped.
I'm a new Mac user but just can't understand why this would work on my PC and not the new Mac.
    This question was solved.

    Hi castagmc,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue when attempting to get the new Yosemite driver installed for the printer.
I do have some suggestions that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please remove the usb cable from the printer and from the Mac and leave it disconnected until further notice.
I have a link that I am going to give you that gives detailed instruction for Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once the uninstall is complete, please restart the Mac to have the changes take affect.
When the Mac is back up and running, disable any anti virus protection you may running. We do not want anything getting in the way when we reinstall.
The next step is to download and install the HP Officejet Pro 8600 series Full Feature Software and Drivers.
The installation will prompt you as to when to connect the usb cable so please do not connect it before hand.
Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • HP Photosmart 5510 unable to scan from panel or computer using Windows 7 64 bit.

I've uninstalled software 3x and reinstalled using driver from HP's website. I've already gone through the HP Diagnostic tool 3x. Windows  (WIA) Scan and HP Twain Scan always come back with error messages. Through their messages, we have uninstalled and restarted computer numerous times. Scan to Computer is enabled. Wonder if the printer is faulty.

Have you tried restarting the following services:
    Remote procedure call
    Shell hardware detection
    WIA
If not, let me know and I can tell you how.

  • I need to know how to scan from within Photoshop CC 2014 with an Epson V700 scanner.

In the past there's been a driver to allow me to import directly from Photoshop. I don't see that now. What am I missing? Thanks.

Just use the MAGIC WAND TOOL, and select the black area(s). Hit the delete button... and you're done

  • HP Color Laser Jet 2840 with /mac OSX 10.6.4

Moving everything onto a new iMac but OSX will not recognize the scanner capability of the HP. It recognizes the printing capabilities and printing is fine but it won't see the scanner. Image Capture doesn't recognize the scanner either. HP simply indicates that the drivers for the 2840 are already installed in OSX 10.6.4
    Any suggestions?

Then have HP walk you through getting the scanner to work properly.

  • [Help Accessing External usb 1TB HD from windows 7 on Imac with Lion]

Hello to everyone, i would like some help and im not finding any solution on how to solve the problem. I upgraded from snow leopard to Lion, where i could share without any problem every file on mac hd or the external hd, no problems at all. Now using osx lion and its such a headache to share anything, i created a "sharing only" account and added it on the "file sharing" after enable "Share files and folders using SMB".
Now the problem is, i went to the "+" add button on the "Shared Folders" and added all folders there that i would like to use from my windows 7 PC, i can access everything that is on the macintosh HD, but i cant access anything that is on my external HD. I dont know if this information is relevant but im using paragon ntfs 9.0.5 to manage the use of the external ntfs HD. I tried "Apply permissions to enclosed items" on every user listed for the folders i want to access, but it didnt help either.
    Thanks in advance.

Holding alt key does bring up the choices, but I never see the bootable USB or external DVD drive as options... I only see the 2 partitions - the main iMac and the partition created by Bootcamp to install windows.
