  • Cannot see Business Rules in Planning

    Hi,
I am not able to see business rules in Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.1. I have provided access to the admin group and assigned the BR to the correct planning applications and planning server.
I am able to view them in EAS but in Planning, i am unable to do so.
Any idea what i am missing?

I take it you have recycling the services to rule out a communication issue, if so have you checked the logs for any errors.
Also it is worth having a read of the following Oracle Support doc - "Hyperion Business Rules Visibility Within Hyperion Planning [ID 1110438.1]"

  • Users cannot see business rules

    Hi All,
    good morning.
I ma having strange problem with business rules.
I migrated my business rules from version 9.0 to 9.3.1.
only admin was able to see business rules.
I tried to add access to all users but when the users are not visible in users list.
Checked shared services they are provisioned as users.
    refreshed users list....no use.
    I ran out my options.
    can anyone help me out
    thanks in advance.

    HI
There are many options so ill give you some:
verify that the users/groups have “planner” & “basic user “ role in HSS.
Verify that you define “planning location on the HBR”
if you giving access based on groups try to see what happened if you give the access to the user and not the group and specific HBR.
Try stop\start planning web, AAS and RMI services.
I hope it will help you.

  • Planner not able to see Business rule

    Hi There,
The issue here is ,we have attached some business rules to a form on "ON save" and through business rule security ,have given access to a planner user but with Planner login ,the he is not able to see that business rule attched with that form.i have checked with admin login ,it is visible.
Any idea why this is happening?

Have you added validate and launch access to the business rules for that user? If yes try restarting the services.
Also try removing and adding again the user with validate and launch access.
Try checking are you able to view BR under administration-> Business rules from the Planner's id ?

  • Unable to find Business Rules in the JDeveloper while creating new project

    Hi All,
I am going through the chapter 9 Creating a Rule-enabled Non-SOA Java EE Application for JDevloper 11g. I am following the instruction given in the chapter.
However I am unable to find a Business Rules category for creating a Business rules directory.
Probably it has to be activated from somewhere.
I tried searching its significance with JDev installation but haven't got anything.
It seems very basic level problem, however...Please let me know if anybody knows how to solve it
    Thanks,
    Makarand.

Did you install the SOA extension for JDeveloper from the help->check for updates?

  • Unable to open Business Rules in EAS

For some reason, I all of a sudden cannot open business rules in EAS.
    I get the following errors:
Error while sending command to HBR Server running within the EAS server.
Detail:Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://usnbka091p:10080/eas/eas
The only thing that happened was that something was messed up with our active directory, but it eventually got fixed. Additionally, it takes a very long time for my EAS to open.
Does anyone have any ideas on where I can look for additional log files to review or anything else that could be causing the problem?

I did manage to get one of the BR's modified by using the admin ID, however there is still an issue. It seems to have something to do with one of our active directories not working. We recently changed active directories, however, there wasn't an issue until all the active directories went down last week. It seems like the original directory is no longer up and running. I am currently waiting for a response from our IT. We'll see how that goes.

  • Planning Admin or users cant see Business Rule

Hi - When I log onto Planning with the 'owner' id, I am able to see all the Business Rules associated with that cube. But when I log in with an ID that has Administrator permissions for that Planning application, I'm not able to view any of the Business Rules. I am able to see all the calc scripts associated with that cube.
I have created a group in Essbase with permissions to that cube and have calc access. then I log onto Business Rules designer and assigned my Rules to that group, but I'm still missing some permission somewhere and I can't figure it out.
    Planning 3.5.1
    Essbase 7.0
    Thanks.

Something else I have noticed, when I create a form in Planning using the 'owner' id and then associate Business Rules with it. Then I log in with Planning Administrator permissions and go into that form to in 'enter data' mode, I dont see that 'Launch Rules' button to select the rules to run on that web form.

  • Cant see Business Rules after restore

Hi - using Business Rules 3.5.1 - we are trying to refresh our development Business Rules with our Production Business Rules. DBAdmins did the restore and if I go looking in the sql tables, I do see the rules. But when I go into the Business RUles Designer, I do not see any rules.
the development name of the business rules database is the same as the production.
    what am I missing here?
    Thanks.

there is a table in the business rule db called "alloproc" which contained the production server name. Ran a sql query to update it to the development and the business rules appeared in Designer.

  • Initialized Planning application, but cannot see business rules(scripts).

    Hi All,
I am new to Hyperion and would really appreciate your help. I created a blank planning (11.1.1.3) classic application and initialized Capex planning (Edit->initialize capex), and then created and refreshed database so that it appears in Essbase too. I can see the application in essbase and in Planning, I see the data forms and dimensions, member formula...etc. When I open a data form it shows me the business rules at the left bottom and I can execute them and select run time prompts. But when I go to calculation manager and select the same application, to see the the actual scripts how it is designed( basically wants to learn how the scripts are desined, calculation functions and all) under Rules and scripts, I do not see the scripts anywhere. I have tried this 4-5 times by creating fresh new application( I also tried workforce planning & same problem) with one plan type, more than 1 plan type but its now working. Can someone please help me from your experience what could I be missing and why its now showing there.
Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi,
While creating the application what "Calculation Module" had you selected.
If you want to use calculation manager you need to have the calculation module as Calculation Manager.
Planning Calculation Manager Administrator enables you to create business rules using Hyperion Calculation Manager.
Refer following link for more reference: -

    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to provision Business Rules access for users

    Hi all,
Our analytic server is properly configured in Shared Services : we can correctly create users, provision Essbase access for those users, change password, etc...
An application business rules is visible in the left pane of shared services, but we are not able to provision Business rules access for users.
When we try to provision access for a user, we have only access to the Analytic properties.
    What's going wrong ?

It sounds like the user you login to HSS with hasn't been assigned with "Provisioning Mgr" rights to business rules.
Get the HSS admin user to grant you these rights and you should then be able to provision users to use Business RUles.

Make sure there are no exceptions in the schema which you are using for defining the structure of Business Rule facts and try it again

  • Unable to access Business Rules Facts after refreshing XML Facts

I have created a business rule using an xml schema to generate the XML Facts. Then I created a Decision Function to call a Ruleset to process the information in the XML Facts. This decision function has input and ouput parameters from the XML Facts.
The decision function is used inside a BPEL Process, by defining the Dictionary has the created business, defined the Service has de Decision Service. After this configuration I'm able to define the Input Facts and Output Facts from and to a variable in the bpel process. Using the Decision Fact Map window I define the input and output to the exposed Business Rule Facts. This works just fine. The BPEL runs and the Rules are correctly used.
When I change my xml schema to add more elements and complex types I use the "Reload XML Facts From Updated Schemas" option available in the bussiness rule. After this operation I will no longer have access to the Bussiness Rule Facts in the Decision Fact Map window. So I'm no longer able to call the decision function.
Yet the business rule has no problems and i have tested using a fuction to call the Decision Function.
Is this a bug or a feature?
I'm using Oracle 11g with the SOA Composite Editor 11.1.1.0.0.52.19.

Problem solved. There was an element in the xml schema that had nillable = true. Because of this the XML Fact for that element would no longer be available in the BPEL Process. Removing the nillable and generating the XML Facts again solved the missing variable problem.
