Unable to see fields of BI Publisher report in MS Office

Hi,
We have a report in BIPublisher(10g). We are designing a template for a report. So from MSOffice, while we are accessing the report, we are unable to see the fields. We were able to see only RowSet. The report is working or able to see in BIPublisher.
This happens very often to us. We will be able to see the fields for some of the reports and unable to see for some reports. I can say we are able to see all the reports in BIPublisher.
Initially we are working in the sytem with 1GB RAM and thought that MSOffice is unable to load the report. Now we are working from a system with 2GB RAM, still same problem.
We did: Open MSWord-->Login to BIPublisher--> Open the folder-->Select the report.then--Insert field.
In the popup window opened, we were able to see only RowSet no fields.
We observed this is happening to the reports which have parameters to be passed
where could be the problem...help us.

Have a look at getXMLdata and downloadXMLdata of schedule service , using these you can get the xml data produced by the report job
getDocumentData and downloadDocumentData will return the document data which is basically a translation of xml data in your output format

Unable to display data in BI publisher Report

We are developing BI publisher reports in siebel 8.1.1.
We are able to preview data perfectly with the rtf which we developed and by loading sample data file generated based on integration object.
we uploaded the template file into the application associated with the integration object and generated xliff and tagged it to a view.
When we navigated to that view and trying to run the report. the report is generating but unable to view data in that report .
on checking siebel log we found the below error....
ObjMgrLog Error 1 000000024b97169c:0 2010-03-10 20:24:01 (bcfile.cpp (5808)) SBL-SVC-00185: Error occurred while deleting file 'Error occurred while deleting file 'C:\Siebel81\Client\Local\files\S_XMLP_REPOUTPT_17XF-3PM_.SAF'.'.
did anyone of you faced this kind of issue....?

Our scenario is this report is basically a dissconnected mode report... we are developing these reports for mobile clients.
We dint face this kind of issue while developing other reports.
So please let us know if you have any idea on why we are facing this issue.

Unable to see EXCEL output for xml report--browser issues?

hi i have created and registered an xml publisher report.
i want to see the out put in Excel format.When i run the report i get junk data as output.
is there any profile setting or viewer profiles that i need to change to view the output in excel.
i can see excel output on standalone version when i load the data into template and look for the excel output.
i cant see the same when i run the program through apps.
Can any one help me regarding this.

i had to change the system profiles to browser
sysadmin>system>profile>query %Viewer%>set Viewer Text:browser
and Text:browser

Unable to see field list in Excel 2013

Unable to see a list of fields to choose from when creating a pivot table. I only see the field table.
I have tried this ActiveWorkbook.ShowPivotTableFieldList =True and received the following message

Did the issue occur in the special file or all the Excel 2013 file?
If the issue occur in the special file, it might be caused by the file self, I recommend you copy/paste it to a new/blank file to test.
If the issue occur in all the Excel 2013 file, it might be caused by the Excel15.xlb corrupted. It is located in your Windows user profile which varies with OS (Documents and Settings or Users).
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel.
Rename the file (Please note: If you don't backup it, you will lose any custom settings you may have made for Excel.) and then Excel will recreate it the next time Excel is opened.
If the issue still exists, please try to share us a sample file through One Drive, I want to test it.

maintain the column name in the fieldcat.
gt_fieldcat_chld-fieldname = 'BAND'. " mantion your field name
gt_fieldcat_chld-scrtext_l = 'Band'. " mention the description
or you can use gt_fieldcat-COLTEXT = 'Band'.
gt_fieldcat_chld-outputlen = 5.
gt_fieldcat_chld-ref_field = 'BAND'.
gt_fieldcat_chld-ref_table = 'ZVP_ITM_QTY_BAND'.
APPEND gt_fieldcat_chld.

Unable to see substituion variable in the reporting studio

I have added substitution variable to the reporting studio the variable name I gave as var1
and value as 2009,but I am unable to see the substitution variables in my reporting studio.

Hello,
you have to quote the value because it doesnt start with a letter.
Every Value which you had to put in quotes in an Calc Script or Member Formula or so, you have to quote in FR Studio too. Planning accepts the value without quotes, FR Studio doesnt.

Unable to see English Text in Crystal Report

Hello Experts,
I have crystal report on top of ECC. I have one table which has G/L account and G/L Account description. I am using this fields as parameter, I am getting only German and other language except English language. I checked in ECC and I can see G/L account Description in English but not in my Report.
We are using BOXI3.1 and Crystal Reports 2008.
Can anybody help in this proble?

Let me explain you again, I have crystal report, where I have 4 tables linked. I have one table called SKAT table and I I have SPRAS field in that table which is language key, It will show you all the langauges available in that table.
SAP side, when I enter SPRAS as EN and excute, I see only english records for all G/L description. When I enter German in SPRAS fiels, it will show German G/L Account Description.
But In Crystal Report, I have created parameter for this SPRAS field, User will select which language they want to select.
Now the problem is when I create the Paramter on SPRAS field and I run the report, In the Parameter selection, I see D, C and 1 but I don't see EN.
If user want to see EN , how they can see?

Unable to see text data in the reporting bw 3.5

Dear Gurus,
My clinet wants to see the text data for all the records in the reporting.unfortunately he cant see text data for only 5 records in the colum. i checked in the query designer for that object ,in properties its given as key and text. can any one suggest me why the text data is not comming for only that records..

Thanks for the reply, the query properties are already set like key and text before, the problem text is showing to all the records except 6 records,for this 6 records in the place of text it is showing only same technical name..please guide..

Unable to see Oracle driver from Crystal Report's Database Expert

I have installed Oracle client (version 10g) on my laptop that also has Crystal Reports 2008 ver 1 SP3. I then installed data driver 5.3 (Datadirect ODBC database driver) but I canu2019t see the Oracle driver nor the Oracle wire protocol driver from crystal reportsu2019 database expert. I have checked the path and it correctly points to the oracle client (c:\orant\bin). I am running Windows 7 professional.

In Windows 7 64 bit ODBC Drivers 32-bit is stored under "C:\Windows\SysWOW64"
DIRECT PATH C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ODBC.EXE
Right click ODBC.EXE
Create a shortcut and place it on the desktop/Right Click and Pin to Task bar/Start Menu.
It is easy to access.
CR Oracle ODBC Driver 5.3 CONNECT CREATION STEPS
In ODBC Data Source Administrator Select CR Oracle ODBC Driver 5.3
DataSource name: Give any name to identify
Description:(Optional)
ServerName: IP ADRESS:PORT NUMBER/ SERVICE NAME
Eg: 192.168.0.120:1521/orcl
Client Version: slect the client version From the list
To know the connection is correct
Click the button Test Connection
Provide the username/password(Eg: scott/ tiger)
Press OK
Finally Click Apply button. Next OK

Unable to provide new parameters while publishing reports in Infoview

hi Crystal Experts,
While Publishing Crystal Reports using BO CR XI R2 with BusinessObjects Java Infoview or with BusinessObjects .NET Infoview, am getting the reports published based on the default parameters which i gave during publishing wizard.
Infoview is not prompting for setting/providing new parameters when i click refresh button.
so kindly key down your valuable suggestions

Unable to see all slides in published Microsoft word Document

Hi,
I recorded a full motion project with settings as shown below.
I need to publish this project in Microsoft Word document. I tried publishing the recorded project using 'File > Publish' and selecting 'Print' option.
Publish options: Type as Handouts and all slides as export range. I am publishing it to my local folder.
But, when I open the published word document, it has only one slide that is the first screen from where I began my recording. It does not have slides for my entire recording.
Please advise.

Template Builder (XML Publisher Report) for Open Office

Hi All,
I think Oracle can provide a BI Publisher Software for the Open Office, since the licencing cost for MS Office is very high.
"OpenOffice Writer" is a open source alternative to MS Word and can be used on Linux. If I am using Linux OS and have to work on BI Publisher templates then certainly I will have to install Windows or use WINE ( I donno how it works but heard of it)
Other Oracle tools such as SQL Developer, etc are platform independent.. then why only BI Publisher is limited for windows/MS Office.

Please give me the solution for the Replacement of empty field with below data content field in XML PUBLISHER REPORT.
ex:
Name:Philips.M
Address 1:XP APPTS,
Address 2:S:R ROAD
Address 3:
COUNTRY:INDIA
Here i have to get only address 1,address 2 and the COUNTRY data.I dont want to display Address 3 field here.

I'm not sure if this answers your question but you could try putting out the address all in one item in the SQL eg somthing like:
address1 || DECODE(address1, NULL, NULL, 'newline character') ||
address2 || DECODE(address2, NULL, NULL, 'newline character') ||
address3 || DECODE(address3, NULL, NULL, 'newline character')
where 'newline character' is somthing like CHR(12)

Unable to print xml publisher report in excel format in R12

We are unable to print xml publisher report in excel format in R12. We were able to see the excel output but it's printing junk characters while printing and it's printing without any issue with PDF format.

I presume you have gone through the debugging process of testing your template locally first to get the expected result.....

Unable to view BI Publisher report with SSO configuration enabled

Hi All,
Can anybody let us know the configuration of the BI publisher with SSO enabled. We are unable to see any of the BI Publisher reports. without SSO configuration we have integration working perfectly fine with the OBIEE and Publisher.
We followed the configuration steps to integrate BI Publisher with Oracle SSO. The following are the steps:
1. deploy analytics.ear as a new application 'analyticsSOAP' in OAS
2. protect analyticsSOAP in mod_osso.conf file under OAS
3. change OBIEE Presentation services configuration to use analyticsSOAP/saw.dll
4. run credstore utility to encrypt password
5.restart xmlp server
6.restart http server
7.restart obiee server
8. restart obiee presentation service
Still we have issues when we try to accesses BI Publisher reports by clicking more Products -> BI Publisher or view reports directly on the OBIEE Dashboard

configure one more virtual path which is unprotected from site minder. we had similar issue for Marketing and resolved by this virtual path.
