Unable to see photographs wihin the Photos pane in iMovie HD

Hello,
I've recently upgraded my G4 17-inch Powerbook from i-life4 to i-life5. I'm currently have OS X 10.3.9
The problem I have is that I can't see any photographs in the iMovie Photos pane (v5.0.2). There is a message in the pane saying "Launch iPhoto 2 or later to populate this list". After launching iPhoto (v5.0.4), it still doesn't make any difference (I do have photos & videos within iPhoto).
I have tried creating new iMovie projects and opening existing projects. I'm still unable to see any photographs in the Photos pane. Shouldn't this pane be automatically populated with photos from iPhoto?
I've tried using the iMovie Help to solve this problem but all it indicates is to have iPhoto v4 or later and to have least opened iPhoto one time on the computer to be able to access the iPhoto library from iMovie HD.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to
“X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
2. Delete all the files in this folder.
3. On test PC, delete local cache files.
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.

Why does photo pane in imovie reset?

Just updated iphoto and imovie. When I started moving photos from the photo pane, I discovered everytime I delete a photo from the timeline that it would reset the photo pane to photo #1. Very irritating if you happen to be working with photo #1985. It this normal? What can I do to stop it?

Yes, that sounds normal. When you delete a clip in the timeline iMovie, iMovie selects the first clip in the photos pane. (Note that when a timeline image is selected, NO photo is selected in the photos pane, so iMovie has to select something.)
There is no relationship between a deleted timeline clip and any particular photo in the photos pane. So iMovie defaults to selecting the first available photo.
If the scrolling of the photos pane is a nuisance, consider importing your photos directly from iPhoto to iMovie. Drag them from the iPhoto window directly to the timeline. Then that will not effect iMovie's photo pane selection.
I find that method preferred anyway, in many respects. You can view many more photos in iPhoto, for example.

I can not see the pictures in the photo pane

I'm trying to see my pictures in the photo pane (the media section in iMovie) but I can not see them. I know that I have to have iPhoto 4 or later. I have iPhoto 6 but I can't still see the photos. Can you help me?????

If deleting the pref files didn't help, then it's likely a problem in the iPhoto albumdata.xml file. This is the file that other apps must read to access your library. It usually goes bad due to a problem keyword in your library. Look for non-ascii characters in your keyword list. One user had an empty keyword that caused this problem.
See Dave E.'s instructions on how to read the xml file to locate the problem keyword. If you find one, go into iPhoto's preferences to either edit or delete the problem keyword. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3870956&#3870956

Users are unable to see their own profile photo although everyone else can see it in Lync 2013 client

We have Lync 2013, Exchange 2010 and several AD
servers in mixed mode 2003/2008.
All user are unable to see their own profile photo
either in the main Lync window, in the settings or in a chat although other user can see that their photo is there and displaying. The user experiencing the issue can go open Outlook 2013 client and will see their photo displaying correctly in the file menu
(and elsewhere) here.
I have confirmed this happens with any new users I set up as well. We have gone through a fair amount of troubleshooting with other Lync photo issues and simple fixes such as deleting the SIP cache folder etc proves to be ineffective.
Our Cs-ClientPolicy Global is set to websearchonly.
We have "Replicate this attribute to the Global Catalog" set
for the ThumbnailPhoto attribute in AD.
We are also forcing photos from AD only (or no photo) by setting the following:
"Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity PhotosControl -DisplayPhoto
PhotosFromADOnly"
and finally we are importing the photo in ad using this PS command:
"Import-RecipientDataProperty -Identity "Test User"
-Picture -FileData ([Byte[]]$(Get-Content -Path "C:\pictures\testuser.jpg" -Encoding Byte -ReadCount 0))"
The pictures being uploaded are under 10KB in size.
I have followed many threads and will provide any information I can to help find the problem. Thank you in advance.

TS3697 I do not have the Photos pane in my iTunes. What might have happened and how do I restore it ?

Yes I realise this. I click on the IPAD icon in the left hand corner. When it opens the menu across the top does not include the Photo pane. Includes are like the Info Apps Music Movies etc.

I've send from Lightroom 5 photos in Jpeg format to my desktop that arrive as Archive and I'm unable to do anything with the photos. I want to put them in a folder but can't. It seems problem is in them being in 'archive'. Any suggestions?

I've exported photos from Lightroom 5 from my laptop to my wife's desktop. The photos arrive as Archive and she's unable to do anything with them, such as catalog them in an IPhoto folder with other photos. After updated to Ver.31.0, Mac OSX 10.9.4 Japanese language edition can't see folders in the Folder Pane.

I'm a Japanese user of Thunderbird on my MacBook Pro mid-2010, OSX 10.9.4 Japanese language edition.
After I updated the Thunderbird, very often it only shows a tab named "Home" and no folders appear in the Folder Pane, the left end column of the window, just a big huge blank.
I rebooted my Mac several times and only a couple of times I successfully were able to see and use the folders that I created and read the e-mails inside just like I was able to before updating. All the other times, it fails to show folders, and I can't read any e-mails inside them. Even after I succeeded in showing the folders, when I relaunched the Thunderbird it fails again. I did nothing but relaunching the Thunderbird and rebooting the Mac, no other settings I've done ever since I updated to Ver.31.0.
Under this condition it's virtually impossible to use the Thunderbird.
Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only help.

I still got another couple of Thunderbird 31 user reports on Mac OSX 10.7.5, and 10.8.5 that are supposed to be compatible with TB31 but are unable to use because of the same symptom as I experienced: No folders shown in the Fonder Pane.
So again, it's not the OS compatibility issue, it's a bug in the TB31.
I sure hope they'll fix this issue ASAP!!

How do I sort the photos in the photo pane when making a photo book?

There's a certain order that I'd like to see the photos I want to use when making a photo book. But the order that I have it in (which is done manually and not by date) in the album does not appear in the same order when I want to turn some of those photos into a photo book. For some reason the photos that appear on the right side of the screen, "photo pane" show the photos in a different order. Is there some kind of setting that I'm missing?

No - they are in date order - the only solution I've seen is to ues teh batch change command time & Date command on the photos in the album to put them in date order to match the album -- or just drag them to the book pages in the order you want them

Mobile Sales- The manger is unable to see activities in the calender view

Hi,
I have a Manager when he clicks on the calender option he is unable to see all the activities scheduled for a particular employee in his calender viwe whereas if i check that particular employee's calender he has all the details of the activities.
Why is the manager unable to see all the activites in his view.
I have chekced for the Activities (by employee)subscription for teh Manager's site, that exists.
If anyone has an idea please reply ASAP. Thank you.

Hi,
the calendar functionality is not based on subscriptions but on the assigned employees for an activity.
In other words a team hierarchy based (only) on subscriptions is not reflected in MSA.
Therefore activities are only displayed in the calendar TS if the current user is assigned as responsible.
If you really want to see all activities of all employees in the manager's calendar then these employees need to maintain this manager as (additional) responsible person for their activities.

Problem seeing all of the photo folders in itunes

I own two apple tvs. When I open itunes to manage the content on the apple tv and click on the photos tab it cuts off the folders so I can't see them all.
I've tried closing itunes and reopening as well as restarting my machine but to no avail. The problem this causes is I can't navigate to the last folders in the list to click or unclick them for syncing. Am I the only one?

Thanks for the reply. If it helps I figured out you can "restore down" the window size, then manually make the window small enough until you get the side slider on the photo albums to slide to the bottom.

Is there anyway to see/sort/seperate the photos that I have not organized into albums?

I have recently combined many Iphoto libraries into one and I am trying to organize my photos. I started making albums after I imported and would would like to continue.... but I cant tell where I left off... and the giant import has now been turned into events. Is there anyway to sort my events or photos so I can see the photos that have not been asigned to albums so I continue organizing them into albums. I am using Iphoto 11. Thanks

Creating an iPhoto project book....how can I add photos to the photo pane?

I am creating a book from our recent vacation. Each day of the vacation I have separated into different Events. I chose the first day/event and clicked create book.....have placed all the photos in various "slots" in the book and now want to add photos from more events but cannot figure out how to do that.....can this be done???

Select the photo(s) or event(s) you want to add to your book and drag them to the book project in the source pane to the left
BTW - you will love your results - I have quit printing photos and doing albums - only do iPhoto books for our trips now - we love them and our friends are amazed - plus it is easy to duplicate if people we went with want copies

HT4236 I synced photos from my computer to ipad 2. I do not see any of the photos on the camera roll.

I have itunes 11.0.2.26 version. I synced photos from my laptop to my ipad2. It correctly displays the size occupied on the itunes window on the laptop. But in my ipad I do not see any of the pictures. In the folder that I synced from on the laptop, the ipod photo cache folder got created and there are some folder in it.
How can I view the photos in my ipad?
