Unable to select an image with right click of the mouse

When in Library mode using grid view, right clicking on a thumbnail does not select the thumbnail, and previously selected items remain selected. If you then try to delete the item, you can inadvertently delete multiple items that you did not intend to delete and not the item you wanted to delete.
Right clicking on an already selected image or one of a group of selected images works and all selected images can be deleted. However a right click on a non selected image should should drop any current selections and select only the image clicked. (This can be verified in Bridge)
I am using Lightroom 1.3.1 in Windows XP SP2 with 2 gig of ram.

Have you switched your mouse buttons i.e have you changed assignments to your mouse buttons in the control panel?
If not, then clicking on an image will select it, CTRL-Click will select non-contiguous images, SHIFT-Click will select contiguous images.
Right-clicking will show a context menu. (and the context menu will change if you have single multiple images selected: e.g if you select two images you will see a menu item Open in Compare that is not there if only a single image is selected, Delete Photo... becomes Delete Photos... etc)
Also, in grid or filmstrip view you will see up to three levels of brightness on the frames around thumbnails:
-lightest frame: the active image i.e. the one that will be opened if you go to develop mode, or will be used as "source" for synchronize command etc
-medium: other images that you have selected.
-darkest: images that are not selected.
Selected images will also have a white frame immediately around the thumbnail.

I assume but I can't check that MathType rely on the standard iWork applications location which isn't the one used by the mac App Store.
Create a subfolder named iWork '09 in the Applications folder.
Select the iwork applications which you own then drag them into the iWork '09 folder.
You will be asked to type your password. Don't worry, it's normal.
It's required because the System must store the infos describing the new location so that, if a new revision is delivered, mac App Store will be able to find the apps where they are.
When this will be done, try to re-install MathType.
I guess that this time it will behave flawlessly.

Can't Download Images with Right-Click on Mouse

I can't download images by right-clicking my mouse, like I do on my PC. For example, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Dakota and look at the images of the flag, state seal and map near the top right corner of the page...
When I place my cursor over any of these images on either my PC or my MacBook Pro, my cursor changes to a hand, indicating that the images are hyperlinked. If I right-click on an image, I can choose a SAVE AS command on my PC, but nothing happens on my MacBook Pro.
If I left-click on a linked image, it simply zooms in, rather than taking me to another page. I'm using a small Kensington mouse.
This could be a Firefox problem. I think I recall downloading some sort of extension that allows you to zoom in on images, and I suspect it's more or less taken over. If so, I'll have to track down the name of the extension and try and zap it.
But I thought I'd check here first, just to see if other people have this same problem - or if you can suggest alternate strategies for downloading images.

Well, I found a novel solution - it's called Safari.
I'll post on the Firefox forum to figure out why I
can't download images with it, but it seems to work
just fine with Apple's native browser. Thanks for all

I just tried it, but I am using firefox 2.0 beta and I had no problems. Not sure what's going on. Have you tried any other pages or pics besides this one, which I don't think it would matter just wondering.

Set my background image with right click?

Is there a way to set a picture as my desktop background without looking through tiny pictures in system prefs? I just want the right click feature. The only way this works is if you right click a picture ONLINE, but this doesnt work in my pictures folder...

You can always drag a picture from your folder into Safari, then right click and select "Use Image as Desktop Picture"--might hit a snag though with some things in portrait orientation, they can display in landscape.
Another option is make an Automator action, save it as a plug-in for Finder. You then right click, go to More, Automator, and select your action and get the new Desktop.

Selecting a JList with right-click

What's the best way for a JList to select its value with a right-click. I plan on bringing up a JPopupMenu on the same right click too.

You would probably add the standard listener for this sort of thing
with the addition of selecting the item under the mouse.

Inside the browser, right click on the mouse seems to be disabled. How can I enable the right click button? It works fine on toolbars and tab bar but not inside tabs or windows. I would like to be able to copy and paste and such. Thank you

Right mouse button does not open any menu when clicked inside of tabs or windows. Works properly on the toolbars, in the address line, search bar...etc. but has no action on the page I'm browsing. I purchased a mouse recently and like the old one, the right button works in all other areas of my operating system. I would like to know if there is a setting in firefox that I can change to correct this.

There are also websites that can disable the right-click context menu.

Adverts open with every click of the mouse

Every time I click my mouse to open any link or click anywhere on a safari page, it hasn't got to be a link, a new page opens with different adverts. Any reason as to why this is happening?

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. Go to System Preferences, under the Apple logo in the upper left. Then choose "Keyboard & Mouse", and then "Mouse." There you can change the button settings to suite your needs. I have the right button set to "Secondary" or "right" button. I also selected the side buttons to "Off because the way I was gripping the mouse it was activating Exposé.
Not you can plug in just about any USB mouse into the port and use it. So if you have a favorite mouse it may work.

The categories option should be there the same as Outlook 2010. Please try to run Outlook in safe mode (outlook.exe /safe) to check if there are some add-Ins blocked this.
If safe mode doesn't fix this issue, I would suggest you to create a new Outlook data profile to check behavior. For how to create an Outlook profile, please refer to:

Why cant i use right click on the mouse

I am trying to play starwars empire wars for the mac, is says left click to high lite a unit, and right click to move them but the right click dosent work like the PC.

If you are using a mouse, try using Control-click to get the right click function. If a Magic Mouse, go to System Preferences > Mouse and check the box for secondary click, that is the right click enabler.

How can I right click without the mouse to bring up context menu?

On Windows systems there is a special key that brings up the context menu of the currently focused item. I would like to be able to do the same on the Mac. I don't want to reach for the mouse every time I need to bring up the context menu as some applications rely heavily on those.

No there is no contextual menu button or hot key combination for OS X. I'm sure there are some third-party applications that enable this, but nothing that I know of. You might search http://www.versiontracker.com for Mac applications/utilities that have to do with contextual menus, and see what pops up.

Question, regarding export. From the library module, when I select an image and then click on the Export button, or select file export, nothing happens. The program seems to lock up and the only way to continue in the software is to press the escape key.

I guess the question is entirely contained in the title. Thank you.
