Unable to select objects
At times I can't select objects or text objects. I click on and near the object and nothing happens. in fact in one document I created I can't select anything. I have 3 text boxes pluss a line that seemed locked. Any help would be appreciated.

The usual reason for not being able to select an object is that it has been moved behind the text. It's not intuitive or well-documented, but click outside the layout area & then click & drag the cursor toward the object until you see handles. Now go to Arrange > Bring to Front (⇧⌘F).
If you have two or more objects whose handles show they are selected, you will have to bring all objects forward & then click outside the layout area to deselect the objects then click on the topmost & move it out of the way. Repeat until you can get to the object you wanted.
If the objects are locked, once they are selected as above, go to Arrange > Unlock.
Another situation is that the object has been moved to the section master. For this you need to go to Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects Selectable if there isn't already a check mark next to this option. Then follow the first paragraph above.
I hope this isn't too much information at one time.

HELP!! Unable to select objects with the selection tool
Not sure if I accidently hit a key that I wasn't supposed to, but the selection tool stopped working the way it should. When I put the cursor on top of an object and click the mouse button, nothing happens. Also ctrl A doesn't work. Any suggestions? I've shut down and restarted and that didn't work.

To keep previously selected objects selected, ShiftClick the following ones.
If Ctrl+A does not select anything, and if no selection appears in the Info palette (select Objects in the flyout), something else is the matter, and it may be time to Move the folder -

I’ve finally managed to deploy my first guest cluster with a shared VHDX using a service template.
So, I now want to try and update my service template. However, whenever I try to do anything with it, in the services section, I receive the error:
Unable to perform the job because one or more of the selected objects are locked by another job. To find out which job is locking the object, in the jobs view, group by status, and find the running or cancelling job for the object. ID 2606
Well I tried that and there doesn’t seem to be a job locking the object. Both the cluster nodes appear to be up and running, and I can’t see a problem with it at all. I tried running the following query in SQL:
SELECT * FROM [VirtualManagerDB].[dbo].[tbl_VMM_Lock] where TaskID='Task_GUID'
but all this gives me is an error that says - conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier msg 8169, level 16, State 2, Line 1
I'm no SQL expert as you can probably tell, but I'd prefer not to deploy another service template in case this issue occurs again.
Can anyone help?No one else had this?

I am unable to remove a host from my Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2. I receive the following error:
Error (2606)
Unable to perform the job because one or more of the selected objects are locked by another job.
Recommended Action
To find out which job is locking the object, in the Jobs view, group by Status, and find the running or canceling job for the object. When the job is complete, try again.
I have already tried running the following command in SQL Server Management Studio
SELECT * FROM [VirtualManagerDB].[dbo].[tbl_VMM_Lock] where TaskID='Task_GUID'
I received this error back:
Msg 8169, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier.
I have also tried rebooting both the host and the Virtual Machine Manager Server. After rebooting them both, I still receive the same error when trying to remove the host.
Here are my server details
VMM Server OS = Windows 2012 Standard
VMM Version = 2012 R2 3.2.7510.0
Host OS = Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter
Host Agent Version = 3.2.75.10.0
SQL Server OS = Windows 2012 Datacenter

How many hosts are you managing with your VMM server?
The locking job might be the background host refresher job. Did you see any jobs in the jobs view, when the host removal job failed?
If there is no active jobs in the jobs view when this host removal job fails, can you please turn on the VMM tracing, retry the host removal, and paste back the traces for the failed job (search for exception and paste the whole stack)?

Another option is to temporarily change your view to outline mode, when your done switch back to preview mode. Ctrl-Y or View>Outline {View>Preview} The menu option will change depending on which mode you are in.
And another option, double click on the object in question to place it in Isolation mode. You can now edit to your hearts content. When done, click on the gray border at top of document.
So as you can see there are multiple ways of accomplishing the same thing. -
Unable to Import objects into ID

For your support I have completed the development work and I have moved to Quality from Development. But while trying to import the one scenario in to Quality System from Development in XI, I am getting the following Error:-
Internal error: Unable to transfer changes for object Service | Q14CLNT120 to change list "XI 3.0 Import" (9a590f30-7245-11dc-9266-00306ee97ef1) since object still in change list "XI 3.0 Import" (3ae5e660-701d-11dc-942e-00306ee97ef1)
I have somehow managed to import another scenario last week into Quality, although now I am unable to import. But while trying to activate the imported scenario into Quality System I am getting another Error as below:-
Unable to move object. Change lists were not part of the same import
I tried to activate the change list..but no woek.
Could anyone please advice?

You can do one thing, first of delete imported objects which are not getting activated from QA, also delete the SWCV from Integration Repository.
<b>Note:</b> Before deleting SWCV, make sure any other working objects are not there in the same SWCV.
Now, if <b>SWCV & GUID</b> in both systems are <b>same</b> then again:
1. Export the objects from Dev (.tpz file)
2. Imort the same .tpz file to QA system.
Now go to Repository of QA and
1. <b>Tools --> Import Design Objects</b>
2. <b>Tools --> Transfer from system landscape Directory --> Update Application Components.</b>
Select your components and press Finish button.
And finally try to Acitvate your objects.

Unable to cast object of type InfoObject to DestinationPlugin
I have created a web application to show the list of scheduled reports and with their destination Info using Business objects sdk. Locally on my computer i am able to show all the reports and the Ftp information. But when i move this application to QA server the application returns an error with a message.
"Unable to cast object of type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoObject' to type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.DestinationPlugin"
I have noticed that the returned type of Object by the query on QA server is of type "InfoObject" and on localbox "CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Dest.Ftp"

Unable to cast object of type infostore to type report

Does anyone know what causes the message:-
system.invalidcastexception: unable to cast object of type 'crystaldecisions.enterprise.infoobject' to type 'crystaldecisions.desktop.report'
Everything works perfectly in my development environment but as soon as I try to put the code live I get the error.
it is happening in the following lines of code:-

I tried changing the ceReport type to an InfoObject type and the system then fails trying to get the parameters. (ReportParameters is not a member of InfoObject)
The only differences I can see is that my dev machine has Crystal XI SP4, Crystal 2008 SP0 and Crystal Server XI SP4 installed while the live environment only has Crystal XI SP4.
I tried installing the 2008 runtime to see if that would make a difference but it has not.
I tried reinstalling the XI runtime but it has not worked either.
Is there something that needs to be changed on the enterprise server? This is also running on XI SP4 and the files match the dates and times on my dev machine.

Reverse Engineer / Import Selected Objects
Hello All,
I am new to ODI tool and trying to understand, how to reverse engineer / import selected objects? I am unable to do this.
For instance, I have 10 tables in database, I want to import/reverse engineer 3 of them, how do I this in one go? I am able to do this, one by one.
Your Help is appreciated.

Create a model.--> click on selective reverse engineering---> check New Datastore and object to reverse engineer. then you can select 3 tables out of 10 tables.
what do you mean by import here ?

RWBergUpdate: I unmapped connections to the problem causing table object (Group), and deactivated the descriptor. After deleting the named query dependencies, the mapping report succeeded.
However, when reactivating the mappings from the other descriptors they would still not allow me to select a reference table for the Groups class. The same is true going out to those descriptors from the Groups class.
Does anyone know why the reference tables are not populating the drop-down on the "Table Reference" tab?

Unable to launch Object Wizard from Agentry Connector Studio
I am running Eclipse Juno (64-bit) with the Agentry Editor installed. When I try to launch the Object Wizard in the Agentry Connector Studio nothing happens. No error message, but the wizard doesn't appear. I am using version 6.0.46.0 of the Agentry editor.
This problem was reported in this thread but no resolution was provided. I did try opening the database development perspective as Welly suggested but it made no difference.

Anyone know why this would happen, or if there is a log that might contain an entry that would tell me what went wrong?
Update: I just tried it again after rebooting Windows and now the Object Wizard is grayed out when using the Database Development Perspective. If I switch to the Agentry(Properties) perspective it is not grayed out but still nothing happens when I select it.
Full disclosure: I am running Windows in VMWare Fusion on a Mac. I am seeing some strange behavior in general with Eclipse and I've reinstalled it a number of times without resolving the problem.

DaveOne of the applications I have issue issues if you export the application you will not be able to load it on any other editor except from the the editor running on the Fusion VM machine and the issue was also the server failed to load the application that was published from the editor.
I am just letting you know to look see if you also run into this issue and that was the reason why then had to run on a windows machine.

The error in the original post was that the referenced object was a Desktop Intelligence document, and not a Crystal Report. Unable to create object from stored procedure universe
Dear All Experts,
I am facing a problem on unable to create object dimensions on a Stored procedure universe. Fyi, I have successfully insert a stored procedure ('SP_Sales') with input parameter (@date) into universe (Universe_1). But I unable create any object based on the the stored procedured ('SP_Sales') due to it show nothing from the Edit Select Statement of 'Object1', empty for Tables nd columns windows.
Thefore, i unable to drag data in WEBI when i select univese as "Universe_1", it will not sure any object. Please advise.

You wont be able to edit the object definitions.
u2022 Designer generates one table per selected stored procedure (or many
tables if multiple result sets) and one object per column returned by a
stored procedure.
u2022 The result set structure is determined when you describe the function.

Suddenly unable to drag objects
I installed Muse 2 days ago and I've had 3-4 instances where everything will work perfectly and suddenly I'm unable to drag objects. I can select and re-size them, so the objects aren't locked, but I can't drag and re-position anything (text, boxes, etc.). If I exit out of the program and re-open it, the problem is temporarily fixed (until it happens again after ~30 minutes of use).
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it a bug or am I repeatedly & accidentally toggling some feature that I'm unaware of?Yup that's a bug. From what we can tell, something goes wrong on one drag operation and after that, we can't start another drag. Quit and relaunch is the only alternative.
So far we don't have any reproducible cases to help us track this down, since it happens to you fairly regularly any information you can provide would be helpful: Mac or Windows?
What sort of drag was the last one to succeed before they stopped working, and what was the first to fail? Reposition something, drag in an image to load the place gun, etc...
