Unable to display Chinese character in non-unicode system properly.
Hi, all
My system has been upgraded from 4.6C to 6.0 which is non-unicode system. Chinese characters with long length will be cut and cannot wrap automatically. But it's OK to alphabetes. How could I resolve this?
Thanks..
TD. WeiThe simple and easy way to check
non-unicode character sets are not supported on unicode system any longer. Am I right?
Transaction code i18N
Select
trouble shooting --> printing test --> smartforms --> multiple scripts, select your output device and see print preview. it will display all supported characters.
I guess, above information will be useful for closing the thread.

Unable to install Chinese Character Fonts in CS4
Hi,
Wondering if anyone successfully installed new chinese characters fonts in PS CS4?
I downloaded some fonts, managed to install in Windows but these chinese fonts are not reflected in PS. I'm currently using Vista.
I only have problem with chinese fonts as installation of other fonts works well.
The chinese fonts i'm trying to install are named HanDing-CS-Fonts (Truetype).
Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks! = )I don't have that font, nor do I have CS4 yet, but I can make some guesses: some Googling inclines me to believe that the font is not well made. This thread over at DTPForum indicates that it doesn't even show up correctly in Character Map. That's not a good sign (I'm assuming you're using Windows platform, here). Is there any chance that it's showing up with a Chinese name in your font list? In your Type preferences, there's a "Show Font Names in English" checkbox.
Barring that, I've noticed over the years that poorly-constructed fonts with decent multilingual coverage often show up in the wrong language category in Adobe products. You may want to scroll through your RTL and Thai fonts (which Pshop will show, even if it can't use them) to make sure that there's not a new font in there that is showing up with a broken name.
These are all guesses, though. Best of luck. -
Unable to get chinese character in print preview or in printout
Hi Gurus!
I have searched in SDN before posting this thread, as i could not able to find solution for my problem.
In VL02n - Delivery note - my user gives the customer part number sometimes in English and sometimes in Chinese.
Now i am facing the problem - i could not able to see any chinese characters in print preview ( it shows some garbage characters sometimes and sometimes #### ) and in printout - i see ####.
The things i have done is:
i have activated the multibyte functionality in local layout (ALT + F12) - I18N.
Checked the printer output device - in SPAD - the device type is 'CNSAPWIN : MS WINDOWS DRIVER VIA SAPLPD'.
In control panel - regional and lang. options - install east asian languages has got tick mark
So what else i need to do to get the chinese characters in print preview as well as in print out.
Thanks,
Sakthi Sri.Hi Jeeva,
Still i am searching for answer. Meanwhile, if you got any solution plz let me know too.
Also, for me in PDF, i could not able to view the print preview at all. I am using Adobe Reader 7.0 and it is saying chinese simplified font is installed. but not able to view it. it is again and again asking to install it.
may i know how you able to view it in PDF? or Are you using any higher PDF version?
Thanks.

Chinese character sent out from Mail unrecognized in Outlook
Hi there. Here's a problem confusing me a lot.
There's a number of people using iPad/iPhone in my company that are all facing the same problem.
We have to use Chinese for some of my emails (both either with simplified or traditional chinese).
Though, it's been an issue as most of our clients are using MS Outlook to connect their mail services.
Any emails in Chinese that are either replied or forwarded via iPad/iPhone's Mail app, the contents (Chinese characters) displayed in Outlook are unrecognized and shown as unreadable coding.
Are there any solution besides changing the coding from GBK/BIG5 to UTF8 in Outlook? It is impossible for us to request our clients to make their settings or to call them one by one.
CheersAre there any solution besides changing the coding from GBK/BIG5 to UTF8 in Outlook?
I don't think so. The iPad uses a simplified OS that does not allow the sender to choose encodings for Mail, which is no problem in the full OS X. The only thing you can change is the OS language or region format -- you might try that an see if it makes a difference.
You can tell Apple your wishes here:

Sending images directly to an e-mail software
I'm missing an option in the Export dialog which sends your images to an e-mail program after export. "Burn the exported images to a disc" works great, but if I want to e-mail my pictures I have to do it manually. Being able to spread the images on multiple mails would be great, too.
Put a Shortcut/Allias to your email Client in the Export Actions Folder.
If you use Outlook for PC go to
Lightroom Extra Download/Other Goodiesand read and install MAPI Mailer.
Good luck,

Sending Chinese email uisng FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1
Hi Experts,
I attempt to send chinese language character using chinese logon using the above function module in 4.6C hotpack 50.
The chinese character are in the content_txt table of the FM and for the rest of the table for this function module, I had set the language to sy-langu where ever possible.
But when the email is received, it's still not display in chinese language.
Anybody can advice?
Thanks.Hey Darren,
This sound interesting. I didn't do this.
Anyway.. I am just sending a normal mail out and not touching or retrieving anything via NAST table. Is this statement still required? Where should I put this statement?
Just more details, my program is suppose to upload a text field, break it into multiple emails to send to supplier based on the PIR for the material number. There's not retrieval via NAST nor anything related to PO.
Thanks. -

Before you send your email, go to Message > Text Encoding and choose one of the Chinese encodings, like GB for simplified and Big 5 for traditional. You might have to try different ones, or UTF-8. -

How to send Chinese Characters from BPEL to SAP through JCA Adapter
Hi All,
We want to do a POC using a BPEL process to send Chinese characters to SAP System through a JCA Adapter.
If anyone has implemented the similar requirement, please share your thoughts on how to achieve it? Or if there had been any problems?
Also, please let us know which SAP API we can use to test this?
Appreciate your quick help!Hi Srini,
I am working on 9.0.3 EBS 11i.
Now i am able to encode using the below code:
in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(uploadedByteStream.getInputStream(),"UTF-8"));
if(linetext[7]!=null&&!"".equalsIgnoreCase(linetext[7]))
col8=linetext[7].toString();
vendor = new String(linetext[7].getBytes("UTF-8"),"EUC_CN");
Now i am able to encode to chinese character when the file is in ANSI encoding, i see the CSV data in some form(not chinese).
But when the file is in UTF-8 , and i can see the CSV data in Chinese (when i open in edit plus) , the encoding is not proper. when i remove the encoding the chinese data is coming properly.
The data i am printing on the OAF screen.
Now my doubt is : What type of file shd i be uploading ANSI/UTF-8????
When i see on the local jdev as sop's , the data is seen as ???? but on the screen its printing correctly.
but the data has to be passed to pl/sql procedure.
