Unable to send from Aliases

In addition to my main me.com email address I have two aliases which WERE listed in the From: drop down menu. I would write my email and select the right address to send from and send the email.
Today I set up another alias and followed the instructions. Before clicking on the '+' sign to add an address I noticed that only the main email address was listed and not the two aliases I have. I carried on with the process - clicked on the '+' sign, filled in the details and then clicked on 'Done'. When I tried to use Mail to send an email the new alias was listed but the other two had now disappeared. I can receive email using these addresses but not send. Any ideas?

it seems it works only on iCloud.com but not when using the Mail program on my MacPro. It just can´t be right that this happens, and it can´t be so hard to fix?

    Here is the scenario that I am working with:
    I have two users: Lucy and Jane. Lucy is Jane's boss, and has given Jane access to her mailbox to send/receive emails while Lucy is busy.
    Jane is able to send email on behalf of Lucy as long as she stays logged in to her own account.
    However, When logged into Lucy's account (as it was added as an additional profile to Outlook) Jane is unable to send any emails; they all get stuck in the outbox.
    Both these users are O365 users, and we have verified that send/receive works in the OWA for both Lucy and Jane.
    Jane is using the Outlook 2010 client on a Windows 7 machine.
    Any information you could come up with would be of great assistance!

    If Jane wants to send as Lucy with an additional profile for Lucy account, Jane needs to have Send As permission instead of Send On behalf permission to Lucy's mailbox. To grant send as permission, we can run the following command in EMS:

    One thing should be mentioned: When jane is logged into her own profile in Outlook, she is able to send emails from Lucy's email completey fine. When Jane logs into Lucy's profile in Outlook, the emails all get stuck in the outbox.
    In terms of the Send As permission, I would assume that Lucy has it as she is able to send email from Lucy's email when logged into Outlook on her own profile.

    N70 sms problem.
    A received sms creates a blank copy of itself and attempts to send from the outbox. This fails and an irritating "unable to send" pops up every 5 seconds. Only recourse is to delete spawned sms. Doesn't do it all the time, I can get several days without problem then comes back for a few days.

    My HPB210 eprint wirless printer worked great when first purchased, I had it set up so if need be I could send items to be printed to the b210 from my laptop, I have not used it in a while to send from my laptop, however a few days ago I wanted to send a receipe to print from my laptop and nothing happened, the printer is connected to my desktop at all times, any information will be very much appreciated.

    Share your movie to the Media Browser. When you open iDVD, you will be able to bring in your movie from the Media Browser.
    If you have already shared your movie to iTunes, Quicktime, WebGallery, etc, it may already be in the Media Browser, and you don't have to re-do it. In fact, when you share to media browser, it will only let you do the sizes that are not already there.

  • Why is my iCloud account unable to send from iPod touch.

    My apple ID is a @mac.com address but my iCloud email address is @me.com. On my ipod, when I select "from" when composing a message in mail it has the address listed as @mac.com instead of @me.com. Since the @mac.com address doesnt exist it won't send email. I tied to edit the iCloud mail settings to make the email address an @me.com but it would not allow me to do so. Any thoughts?

    Figured it out. Had to delete my icloud account from my ipod and then sign in again using my @me.com address. It then showed my @mac.com address as the account name but had the right @me.com address as the email.

  • How to configure Mail to send from off-site

    I am trying to configure Mail on a laptop that will send and receive email both went it is connected to the servers ISP (on site) and when the laptop is connected to a non-site ISP. In other words when I am in the office I am connected to the ISP that is hosting my mail server. When I am out of the office and using an ISP that is not hosting the mail server. I have configured Mail such that I can send and receive email when I am onsite. When I am offsite I can receive email but not send it. In order to fix the problem I have tried configuring the SMTP to require password authentication using a couple of different server ports (i.e. 25, 110 & 587) but have been unable to send from off site. At this point I am at a loss as what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    If the off-site ISP doesn’t let you send no matter what port you use, there is little, if anything, you can do about it. Many ISPs, however, only block port 25 for all traffic outside their own network. Something that usually works in those cases is changing the outgoing server port to 587 instead of 25 in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings, but the outgoing server in question must listen to that port for this change to work.
    If the off-site ISP allows sending on port 587, but the outgoing server you want to use doesn’t listen to that port, you may solve the problem by using an independent authenticated SMTP server that allows sending from any mail account no matter where you are.
    A Gmail account, for example, would allow you to do this. Instructions for setting up a Gmail account are provided here:

    After setting up the Gmail account in Mail and checking that it works, you can use Gmail's SMTP server to send from your other mail accounts as well:

    Basically, I have one POP account/mailbox, and only one.
    However, I use 3 email aliases for different work purposes, e.g.:
    Fred Blogs <[email protected]>
    Dr F Blogs <[email protected]>
    The Surgery <[email protected]>
    Now, according to the advice, in Mail I can create one Mailbox, and under 'email address' in Mailbox Preferences, enter:
    [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
    This works fine as far as it goes, and I get a drop down when creating new mail, however, all 3 'aliases' come from the same person's 'Name' - the 1 name I entered in the mailbox preferences in Mail.
    No, what I need to achieve is to be able to send email from the 3 different names as well as email addresses, not just 3 different email addresses all with the same name.
    This was a doddle under Outlook, you just create 3 accounts with the same SMTP server, but set 2 of them not to receive email (otherwise you'd end up with 3 lots of each incoming email from that 1 shared mailbox).
    Mail however is not having any of it, and won't let me create duplicate accounts. I have even tried adding the full name in the email address field of settings, separated by commas: Fred Blogs <[email protected]>, Dr F Blogs <[email protected]>, The Surgery <[email protected]>. That didn't work either.
    How can I achieve what used to be quite a simple process on my PC? I can't be the only person who uses one unified mailbox account, but sends from different aliases?

    Thanks, but the issue occurs when I am trying to set up the 2nd account and get to the Incoming Mail Server Page.
    Because I am using the same Incoming Mail Server and User Name as the 1st account, when I click Continue it reports:
    /!\ The account "Account 1" already has this hostname and username.
    It then won't let me continue. Now it sounds like you have the same setup, so do you have the same hostname and username in all your multiple accounts? :-S
    The reason it does this is - I suspect - because even if you untick 'Include when automatically checking for new mail', when you manually check for new mail, you'd still get 3 lots of the same message. How do you get around this?

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
