Hi , my problem is that i can only create absolute links to other pdf-files in a main pdf-file. how can i switch to or create relative links. Thanks for help!

I’m using version 11.0.10. So where the Menu resides in a folder ready to be burnt on to a CD, that same folder is where the links point to.
    Thanks

  • How can I create a link to a pdf file and show it in the same webpage or in a new tab

It is no problem to create a link. But the formats are limited and  - unbelievable -  the pdf format is not supported??!
Where are the parameter (_blank or _self) to show it for example in the same webpage or in a new tab??!

PDF is media.  It is not a web document.  Your end users must have plug-ins and helper apps installed on their device to see PDFs in browsers.  Depending on their settings, the PDF file may or may not launch in the browser window.  On my system, PDF files download and launch inside Acrobat Professional; not my browser.
The safest approach is to provide a screenshot on your page with a direct link to the PDF file so people can handle it as they wish.  See example:  http://www.adobe.com/manufacturing/3dpdfsamples/3dsolutions/

  • How do I create a link from a pdf file to post on my website and Facebook?

I have created a pdf file from a document.  Now I want to post a link to the pdf document on my website and on Facebook.  In my Adobe Reader XI there is a tab that says "Create Link", but when I click onto it, it just takes me back to the original file, where it is saved on my computer,  I am not real techy.  If anyone can explain this step by strep, I would really appreciate it.
    Thank you.

    Reader will not be involved.
First, you need to upload the pdf to your website. Once you upload the file, you need to add a link to it from a page on your website and Facebook.

  • Link to a pdf file that requires a login

I am trying to figure out a way to create a link to a pdf file that requires login/password, but masks it so that the user is not aware that they logged in using credentials.
Essentially, I am trying to provide links to Monroney labels, which are only available through a dealer login network. If I were to provide the link specifically to that pdf, it should not allow them to access to the dealer network but only that pdf. At least in theory that is where my head is.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Sounds very complicated.  I don't see how you can have it both ways.  In other words, how can you give access to a password protected network without giving access to the network?  You can't.
I think you would need to put the PDF on your own server and put that file inside a password protected folder -- assuming you want them to log-in to get it.

  • Creating a link in a PDF form to open into a new window

I have created the PDF form and every thing seems to be working fine. But I would like to set a link in the form that would open into a separate page. I have tried target="_blank" and onclick="window.open(this.href, 'child', 'scrollbars,width=650,height=600'); return false" with no success. Can someone give me some direction on how to create a link within a PDF form that will open into a new window?

    Try this, using JavaScript:
    app.launchURL("http://www.adobe.com",true);

  • Can I create a custom table of contents and link to other .pdf files based on responses to a form?

Hey Everyone! First post ever, so bear with me:
I'm trying to create a streamlined method to use a form  to let myself and others add information and select certain options to put together a custom table of contents. Basically, I would like to have a form with a series of text fill and single/multiple choice options that will automatically populate a table of contents based on the selections and will link to other .pdf files that are associated with the selections. I was hoping this would be possible with a form, but I'm relatively new to the function of the software as a whole and my research came up short. Any suggestions on how to start are more than welcome, and if I wasn't quite clear enough I would be happy to elaborate.
    Thanks for your time!

You would need to search for other PDF creation software that can accomplish what you desire.
There are many cheaper  PDF creation alternatives other than Adobe's Acrobat Pro software.
Also, try doing a web search under these terms to see if you can find an app/software/solution that may work for you.

How do you create a link to a pdf in Muse? Thought it was going to show that with Katie's menu and can't find in any of the tutorials.

    The steps would be :
    - Add files from file menu > select pdf > add to site
    - Select the content (rectangle, text etc) and click on hyperlink dropdown > it should show you the added files list
    - Select the file you want to link
    Thanks,

does anyone know if it is possible to create multiple links to the same file using iWeb without the program automatically making multiple copies of that file in the published output? It seems that one file is created for each link.

  • How can I create a link from a CHM file to a webhelp file?

How can I create a link from a CHM file to a webhelp file?
The CHM output (accreditation.chm) is stored in a parent directory, and the webhelp output (index.htm) is stored in a child directory.

Open the usual Link dialog and enter the relative path from where the CHM will be installed to where the webhelp will be installed.

  • How to create a link in a PDF pointing to PDF attachment in the same document.

I have Acrobat Pro 9.3.1 and I want to create a link inside a PDF document which points to the PDF attachment in the same document. Though I'm able to do this with the help of the documentation at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/8.0/Standard/help.html?content=WS58a04a822e3e50102bd61 5109794195ff-7cad.html but the issue is that whenever I click on the link my original document closes and the attached PDF opens.
Is there a way to open the PDF (attachment) in a new window when user clicks on the link in the parent PDF?

  • Problem creating several image maps (linking to different pdf files) RoboHelp 8

    Hi,
I have a problem creating several image map hotspots (that link to different .pdf files), from the same image using RoboHelp 8 HTML (WebHelp project).
After compiling, the first image map hotspot created, opens the .pdf file correctly.  Unfortunately, when clicking on the other image hotspots, I get an error " Cannot find file...<file path>... Make sure path or Internet address is correct".
All the pdf documents are located in the same folder within the project.
    Can anyone help?

Have you added the target files as baggage?

  • How do you make a link in a .pdf file? (Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional)

    Dear Adobe Acrobat Forum,
I would like to add a link to my .pdf file.
Once clicked on, I would like the link to send the user to another place in the same .pdf file
or open a separate .pdf file.
I've tried to resolve this on my own by going to both Acrobat help section and the InDesign help section as well as Googling "Acrobat 8 link" or something similar.......but to no avail.
So, can you please tell me how I can add a link to a .pdf file?
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.
I have been creating .pdf files using the File > Export feature in Adobe InDesign CS3 (for the Mac).
    Thanks!

Have you tried in Acrobat 8 to:
    Choose Link tool.
Then choose as shown on as on this Graphic
Then when clicking next you should be greeted with this:
Choose open a file or open a weblink depending upon what you want to do.
You try some of the other choices. once you select what to do save as a copy and try. If This one doesn't work try some of the other choices in the first graphic. other panes will open up similar to second graphic except there will be other choices.
