Unable to send or receive email while on a call

iPhone 4S displays a data connection error when trying to send or receive email while on a call.
According to this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4069 this problem should have been solved in IOS 5.0.1. I'm using IOS 5.1 and still getting the very same error. Can anyone explain me what should I do?

Miss this part of that support article?:
"When using iPhone 4S on a CDMA or 2G network, simultaneous voice and cellular data are not supported."

We purchased an iPad with Retina display in Nov 2012, since we bought it, we have had issues with email. We are now unable to send or receive email from Microsoft Exchange server on the ipad. The email locks up when trying to open or send. It has gotten progressively worse. At first couldn't open more than 8 different emails before it locked up, now we can't send or receive any emails. Please help!

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support...consider that you pay them for your services and formal support, and right now they seem to not be delivering either to you. They even have the power to escalate your case formally up to BlackBerry if they cannot resolve it, but you need to not allow them to fob you off with things like "it looks good on our end"...they are responsible for delivering services to you, you pay them for that.
    Good luck!

  • Unable to send and receive email for external domain

    Hi,
I just installed Exchange Server on my 2K8 domain controller. I have set up the send connector and made necessary changes to the receive connector as well. I have updated the DNS records as well on my domain registrar. I can access OWA from outside my companies
network and is able to send and receive emails for my domain but unable to send or receive emails to any other domain. I have checked the delivery report and it says that the message has been queued on the server.
I also did nslookup. Results mentioned below:

    Hi hg01,
According to your description, I notice that you installed Exchange server on a DC.
It is not recommended to install Exchange server on a DC. I suggest install Exchange server on a member server. More details to see:
Installing Exchange on a domain controller is not recommended
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms.exch.setupreadiness.warninginstallexchangerolesondomaincontroller(v=exchg.150).aspx
About your issue, cannot send and receive externally, I suggest make sure the DNS can be resolved first.
Then, check whether Outlook Anywhere has been enabled. If not, please enable it on both Exchange server and Outlook client side.
Last, try to configure both Send Connector and Receive Connector.
More detailed error message will be helpful for the further troubleshooting.
    Thanks

I think it's trying to open it in a gMail eMail & is losing your gMail password that it needs log into gMail, but not 100% positive.
Have you tried Right clicking or Control+click on the eMail link & choose Copy? Works on some, not others.

  • Unable to send or receive email this morning

    Hello,
I'm not able to send or recieve emails from Verizon this moring using Windows Live Mail.  I've rebooted my PC but still problem pesists.  Below is the message I receive.  Is there an issue with Verizon mail this morning?
    Thank you for your assistance.
Unable to send or receive messages for the Verizon (xxxxxxxxx) account. The connection to the server has failed.
    Server: 'incoming.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
    Protocol: POP3
    Port: 110
    Secure(SSL): No
    Socket Error: 10060

    Can receive mail, cannot send.
    Client: Thunderbird
Last successful outgoing message 5PM 5/20. First failed outgoing 9PM 5/20. Symptom was NB connect error 1460.
Discovered outgoing server was set to outgoing.verizon.net, port 587, password sent insecurely (honestly don't know how it got there, since last outage Feb 2014).
Changed outbound server to smtp.verizon.net, SSL/TLS, port 465, per Verizon instructions at http://www.verizon.com/support/residential/internet/fiosinternet/email/setup+and+use/questionsone/86...
Still no luck. BTW I can ping outgoing.verizon.net, but smtp.verizon.net appears DEAD ("request timed out").

  • Is anyone else unable to send or receive email currently?

Are other Incredible 2 users having difficulty sending and receiving emails?    Is the service down?  It is impacting both hotmail and exchange outlook.   Thanks in advance for any replies.

Have just installed OS X 4.8 on an Emac
Which version was previously installed on that computer?
connects to my ISP via DMS
What do you mean? What is DMS?
upon clicking "Send" or "Get Mail", after some spinning, I
eventually get such messages as: "Connection To Port Timed Out".
You've omitted the port number from the error message, which would be useful to identify the problem. Please, post the full error message.
The Mac OS X 10.4.7 Update introduced connection issues as a result of (according to the documentation) "Mail now supports connecting to mail servers through a SOCKS proxy". If that's the problem, you must go to System Preferences > Network and disable the SOCKS Proxy in the network configuration used to connect to the Internet, if it's enabled.

  • TS3276 I have recently been unable to send and receive emails

When I attempt to send an email, I am prompted to enter my password.  When I do, the password is rejected.  I'm also unable to receive emails.  I've tried switching to different ports, but it didn't work.  I also tried changing my password, but this was also unsuccessful.  These problems just started.  Any help would be appreciated.

I currently have a teacher in district as well who has this same issue on a MBP. New emails will not come to the Mail account on the MacBook.  If she logs onto an iMac in the classroom, Mail opens and operates without issue. We have removed and added her Exchange account on the MBP in the Mail program and still have the same issue.

  • Only send and receive emails while connecetd to Desktop Manager, wireless how?

    Hello,
We have a user taht we are trying to setup with our BES server. The Wireless sync did not work so we are trying to do it manually through DM. We have got as far as getting the syncronizatiobn to be done while he is connected with the USB cable. But how we can do so this is done wirelesly.
By looking at your helpfull forum I know I have to be tinkering with some short of options. Any documentation link will be very helpfull.
    Thank you very much,
    Carlos Cavia

    Greetings
I suspect that the issue is the SMTP server settings. On your home network you are using your providers SMTP server and all is fine (If you check your email account configs you will find that the SMTP server is set to your providers?).
When you use a different network (provider) mail will not be sent unless you use that networks (providers) SMTP server (this is a security issue to address ways of "spamming").
So if youre 3G/4G provider is the same as you home provider all will work well via your home WiFi. If you turn off WiFi and just use your 3G/4G connection to send mail (iPhone/iPad etc) all will work well (when you are out and about and using anothers WiFi network).
If you are connected to, say a MacDonalds WiFi, mail will probably not be sent. (It will be received though).
Using WEB mail interface (via your WEB browser) removes this problem as well.
(A SMTP server is what is used to send email. So to successfully use anothers (not a networks the same as your providers) WiFi network and send email via it, you must know the SMTP servers name and reconfigure your email account/s to use that server to send mail.)

  • TS3899 Unable to send or receive email iphoe 4s

yesterday i updated my iphone 4s to OS 6.1.1, and since i can't receive  or send emails  of a POP account.
I tried to creat a new account but still no luck.
My Yahoo emails are coming in fine.
    Please any clue.....

MicroSoft Outlook was down for most of the day that day and the mobile section was not repaired till the wee hours of the morning.  All is back in service now, but some of your settings may need to be changed if you have made modifications in the past few weeks.  There appears there was some data loss.  Several of my contacts reverted back to old phone numbers and I.D. pictures, but for the most part back up and functioning.
