Unable to set outlook as default calendar

After the last software update I installed on my Blackberry torch, I have lost the option to set Outlook as my default calendar - apparently Facebook is now my default.
Any suggestions how I can change it?
My syncing is showing as Outlook.

Hi hillke,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Could you please provide more information so I can better assist you?
When you click on the drop down list next to Calendar (CICAL) in Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Default Services, is Facebook the only option to select?
How many email accounts do you have integrated on your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9860 smartphone?
Can you please clarify what you mean by your syncing is showing Microsoft® Outlook®?
Thanks.

  • How to set Outlook as default email in Safari?

I have Outlook which I use as my only email (do NOT want to use Apple mail for various reasons) and when I click on a link to send an email while in Safari it wants to use Apple mail. I don't see any options letting me change this in Safari. How can I set Outlook as my default email in Safari?

That does not change the default search engine.
I had already deleted google from the search bar.
Found the fix. Need to do the about:config - keyword.URL - change http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=

  • Setting Outlook's Default mailbox programaticaly C# Microsoft Outlook Library 14.0

I want to set the user selected domain(from list of domains configured in Outlook) from my application
as Outlook's Default mailbox programaticaly. Is there any function in outlook library 14.0 to set default mailbox from all configured outlook accounts ?
I am using C# and Microsoft Outlook Library 14.0 for Outlook 2010 for my application.

    Hello Sridhar,
The Outlook object model doesn't provide anything for setting the default account in Outlook. These settings are stored in the windows registry. The How
do I get Outlook to actually default new emails to a specific account and not ignore the default setting? forum thread states the following:
Out of the box, Outlook 2010 SP1 and Outlook 2013 use the default account for Send to commands but not for new messages created while viewing a pst file (when a POP account is assigned to the pst file), unless you set a registry value to always force the use
    of the default account.
To force all new messages to use the default email account, regardless of which pst file you are viewing, browse to the following registry subkey in Outlook 2010 and add a DWORD named NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
    DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount
    Value: 1
In Outlook 2013, the key is:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
    DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount
    Value: 1
Registry key to force account selection every time
This fix is simple, but can get annoying, fast, since it forces the user to select an account every time they send a new message. (Replies and Forwards always use the account the message arrived on.)
This might be good for people who use multiple accounts and frequently (accidentally) send using the wrong account, especially if they are sending sensitive documents, as it will almost eliminate accidentally sending email from the wrong account.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\outlook\options
    Value Name: ForceAccountSelection
Value type: REG_DWORD: 1 for force, 0 to disable.
In Outlook 2013, the registry key is:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\15.0\outlook\options
    Value Name: ForceAccountSelection
Value type: REG_DWORD: 1 for force, 0 to disable.
Also see Outlook 2010 does not honor the default sending account .
    You may also find the
SendUsingAccount property of the MailItem class which allows to set an Account object
that represents the account under which the MailItem is
    to be sent. For example:
    Sub SendUsingAccount()
    Dim oAccount As Outlook.account
    For Each oAccount In Application.Session.Accounts
    If oAccount.AccountType = olPop3 Then
    Dim oMail As Outlook.MailItem
    Set oMail = Application.CreateItem(olMailItem)
    oMail.Subject = "Sent using POP3 Account"
    oMail.Recipients.Add ("[email protected]")
    oMail.Recipients.ResolveAll
    oMail.SendUsingAccount = oAccount
    oMail.Send
    End If
    Next
    End Sub

  • Unable to set Outlook to override iPhone when syncing calendar/contacts

Hi, I connect my 3GS iPhone via USB and sync calendar and contacts. I make ALL changes in Outlook. Is there any way to enable one way sync? i.e. to allow the computer to automatically delete/change previous entries on the phone?

I just dealt with this issue a few hours ago. I too couldn't figure out how to adjust any settings for two way syncing.
I synced my phone so that the contacts on my phone were up to date in Outlook.
In iTunes I selected contacts to sync but then at the bottom of that info screen where it says Advanced... I checked contacts again in that section. It is giving you the option to replace information on iphone with what is on the computer. Then I hit apply and then I select sync.
Kind of an backasswards way of doing things, but I have noticed I've been doing that alot with the iphone.

  • Office Jet 8600 Premium unable to set printer as default. Error 0x00000709

Have NEVER been Able to make my new OJ 8600 Premium the default printer--Win7x64 Ultimate, McAfee, MSOffice All Updated.  This is less than 30 days old!!!!
Installs and seems to be fully functional, Prints a Test Page, & Scans using YOUR software, BUT:
Will Not Scan Normally from Acrobat as it will not recognize  (still has my HP 6500 listed which is UNINSTALLED & Registry cleaned )  Can scan using Custom Settings (WT*?!!)
Outlook & Excel "sees" the printer BUT will NOT print  Fails to connect.
Checked & cleaned registry of OLD printer info then rebooted as indicated in some of the forums.  STILL 0x00000709
Took offline and tried a direct connect using the USB port.  Rebooted all and still 0x00000709
I thought initially it was just me.  BUT, this is ALL OVER THE INTERNET, and NOT just on the 8600.
I am about to put the 8600 back in the box WITHOUT the packing and SEND it BACK.  OVER 20 years with HP, BUT I have HAD IT!

    Hey MHz67,
This error is coming from the Windows OS itself and is most likely coming from an issue with your Print Spooler service.  I would advise trying to run the Microsoft Fixit tool for automatically detecting and fixing printing problems.
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/printing_problems/
Once this has run are you able to get the printer to be set as default and function?

  • Can a calendar within ical be set as a default calendar?

I have several calenders in ical. Whenever I post a new event, ical defaults to the last calendar used. Is there a way to default to a specific calendar all the time? Moving that calendar to the top of the list does not work - ical still defaults to whatever calendar was last used.
One of my calendars is published online. Another is shared. When I'm working fast, I sometimes forget to check to which calendar ical is automatically entering a new event. The result - people see information to which they should not be privy.
I'd like all entered events to default to my personal calendar unless I manually input a different calendar.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks

On the left side of the iCal window, drag & drop the calendar that you want to be default to the top of the list.
By default the "Home" calendar is number 1.
    PS
I love using Today to interface with iCal for creating tasks and new events:
    http://www.secondgearsoftware.com/today/
You can set keyboard shortcuts to create new tasks and events (while the program is hidden).

  • Unable to set Outlook as Email Client in PSE10

Am running PSE10, fully patched and updated, on Win 7.  My default email client on the machine is Outlook, not sure if it's 2010 or 2013 (Microsoft has made it remarkably difficult to find out this simple fact - Help/About apparently no longer works that way...) but I think it's 2013.  Outlook works fine for all normal uses.  I beleive Outlook was installed after PSE10.
I recently had my first opportunity to use the Sharing options, and discovered the program simply crashes when I attempt to do a Photo Mail - which I've done often in the past with other versions of PSE but not so much with 10.
In the PSE10 preferences, I've discovered the only option for Email clients appears to be Adobe Email Service - Outlook is not listed.  There is no "refresh list" option.
Searching the web and forums points to http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/freeze-or-error-no-email.html, which seems to provide a solution involving a registry hack, if one wants to use Windows Live Mail.  Apparently Win 7 does not store a default email client where PSE10 is expecting to find it.  I have no problem with registry changes, however I don't want Windows Live Mail.  I have Outlook, I'd like to use Outlook.
I would think there would be some similar registry hack for Outlook, however I have not been able to find it.  I could probably work it out by looking at the keys entered in this hack and trial and error, but would prefer to just know what works and do that...
Is there some fix I can apply for this?  The machine I use has other logins, will I need to apply that fix to these additional logins separately as well?
    Thanks,
    Todd

    OK..
Tried downloading the reg hack for Windows Live and modifying it to change the path to Outlook (as recommended by Brett above), no luck.   Verified that it installed the key properly, also verified that the path I gave it will open Outlook 2013 (ran on the command line), however it did not change the behavior - still no way to select Outlook in the PSE10 preferences.  Rebooted, no change.
Tried the solution recommended in the Microsoft KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813745 (from the PSE forum posting here - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5117353#5117353).
First ran the "fix it for me" - which stopped when it realized I did not have a supported version of Outlook (apparently it's only good to Outlook 2010), warned me, and dropped out.
Ran the manual fix process.  When I get to the "repair outlook" portion there is another repair option not mentioned in this - "online repair", which purports to be the most comprehensive fix (not the "quick fix", the other option.)  I ran the online repair, it failed "something went wrong" please try installing office again.
Likely the manual fix I tried first broke office, so now I'm going to submit this and then restore my registry and reboot....
Still no other email options in PSE10, though.

  • Unable to set root/main/default servlet in Tomcat 5.5

I'm on a shared hosting account with Tomcat 5.5 and cannot figure out why I can't set the default servlet. I want all incoming requests regardless of the relative path, to be handled by the Redirect servlet. There is only one servlet in the whole project.
    Some examples
http://www.mydomain.com -> Redirect servlet (not working)
http://www.mydomain.com/ -> Redirect servlet (not working)
    http://www.mydomain.com/a -> Redirect servlet
    http://www.mydomain.com/blaldjflajdd -> Redirect servlet
With the below web.xml file, the last two above works just fine, but the first two gives a 403 error. What gives, I followed the Tomcat documentation to the teeth... It seems to work on my development server, but not on the shared hosting. Is this a setting anyone would block? Any help would be much appreciated.
    The full web.xml setting below:

              <servlet-name>Redirect</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>What would happen if I try an empty url-pattern?
         <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>Redirect</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern></url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>Any help would be much appreciated. I tried workarounds, by using an index.jsp file to supplement, but that isn't working quite right either. I prefer to have it setup properly though.... Please Help!!!

tomcat does not compile servlets, only JSP's will be translated and compiled on the fly. You need to compile them yourself, possibly using ANT or an IDE like NetBeans or Eclipse to make it easier to deploy the changes.

  • Unable to set up the default value in custom object 10,related item section

    Hi,
Please help me out for the below issue
Custom Object 10 we renamed to Quarterly Broker Review .In Quarterly Broker Review there is a related item section 'Activity'.
In Quarterly Broker Review ,Activity related Section ,After clicking on The 'New Task' button 'Account Name' field in Quarterly Broker Review(Parent ) should be prefilled in the Activity Section(Related Item Section) in Account Name Field
'Account Name' field is a Picklist Read Only field.
Since it is a picklist read only field i couldn't write the expression in the 'Activity' Related section under 'Account Name' field
you can also help me by reaching at '[email protected]'
    Thanks,
    Srinivas Merugu

    Hi Srinivas,
As you know, you can refer to a field in a different object by using JoinFieldValue function. But this function is not available for all the object references. If you refer online help for JoinFieldValue function you would notice that from activity only CustomObjects 1,2 an 3 can be referenced using this function.
If this is possible for the activity and CustomObject 10 then you go to the field named Account Id in Activity object and set a default value. I guess in the parent object "CustomObject10" Account Id will also be stored in "Account: Integration ID". So this field value can be copied into the Account Id field of Activity.
Instead you could write a web service program to achieve this.
    Thanks

  • Vista Home Basic Unable to Set Safari as Default

Topic pretty much describes it all.
I've tried to set the default application settings as "Custom" and selecting Safari as the default browser... that setting won't stick. Setting Safari as the default inside of Safari itself won't stick. I can't set Safari as the default application to handle http protocol in "Set program access and computer defaults" because it doesn't even show on the list.
I want so very, very desperately to use this browser, but if I can't get it to load any pages unless I type them in the address bar myself, it seems slightly pointless.

    Can you get there: http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/vista2/defaultprograms/select_your_default_programselection.JPG
    (Road map: http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/default_programs.htm)
And do you see safari there?

  • Unable to set "Mail" as default mail client

I did have a prefpane from Rubicode .. deleted, restarted .. frankly not sure if that was even the problem. However, every time I select "Mail" to be the default email app, I still see iTerm.app listed as the default email handler. I have tried changiing and restarting to no avail. All I have to do is make the change to ANY email program, and close the MAIL PROGRAM. The next time I check in Mail/Preferences/General/Default-email ... I see Term.app ...

However .... I might add that in making the experiment, not deleting however renaming that plist, Mail made another; started the process of asking me to make some email accounts; I quit right then.
But ... when I restarted Mail again, with the original plist, to my chagrin, I noted that I can make "Mail" stay (stick) as the default email client.
I just restarted the macBook to prove it to myself ... been certainly more than a week and i'd not resolved it. So, we'll give you the credit for causing me to move the original out then back, which "seems" to have obliquely corrected the problem.
    go figure, on that one.
    tnx

  • Outlook 2013 (Office 365 Install) unable to set Default Mail Client

After installing Office 2013 via Office 365 for Business, the installation is unable to set Outlook as the default mail client.  Message appears after each system reboot:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
When going into Control Panel and manually set the Outlook client as the default, the setting does not take.  After a reboot, the warning message reappears.
Anyone else having the same issue?

No but then again it is a Beta. Did you clean install or update?  9926 seems to be relatively stable.
