Unable to set Skype Number as Caller ID despite su...

Hi there,
I have been trying in vein to set my new Skype number as caller ID for all my Skype calls. The reason I purchased a Skype number was for this reason. Depsite following the how to on this page "What is caller identification and how do I set it up?" my Skype number does not appear in the drop down menu when I follow all these steps ONLY my mobile number shows up.  I am a little annoyed by this and I would not have paid for a Skype number had I know you can not actual assign this number to your caller ID.  Maybe I am doing something wrong however, I am tech savvy enough to follow instructions and these don't help. I hope it is possible otherwise I feel I will need to seek my money back.  Thanks in advance

and found out that i can not use this number as my caller ID.

    This depends on where your Online Number is located, as not all Online Numbers can be used for Caller ID.  From my own 4 Online Numbers, I can use the numbers in the USA and UK as Caller ID, but not those from Australia or Mexico.  Local/national regulations or limitations from Skype's partners providing those Online Numbers may be to blame, if your Online Number(s) can't be used as Caller ID.
    To see if you can use that number as Caller ID, log into your Skype account here on the Skype web site (click on the "Account" link at the top of this page).  You should be able to go in and change your Caller ID settings once you get in.  If your Online Number is eligible for use as Caller ID, you should see it as an option (or maybe the only option) when you get in there.  If it can't be used, then your only option would be to use the two-step SMS verification process and set a mobile number as your Caller ID when calling telephones from Skype.

  • Illustrator won't run: "unable to set maximum number of files to be opened"

    I have an intel macbook pro (core duo with 2GB ram) and a copy of purchased adobe creative suite 2. Other applications in the suite like photoshop, acrobat, etc can run on my mac without any problem. But when I try to run illustrator, it just shows an error message "Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened" and quits. I also installed a trial version of illustrator cs3 and got the same problem. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Hi, I am unable to purchase Skype number (for German) using Skype Credit. It only show some other options like CC, paypal and others. 
    Then I choose to test UK number, but it enable the Skype Credit purchasing option by default, but no other options. Why?

    Here is the information on setting Caller ID:

    Once you have verified your Caller ID, please remember that your Skype Number may not always appear as Caller ID - the data may not transfer from Skype to the endpoint carrier, whether it be mobile or fixed line, so the call recipient may not see your Skype Number.

    What you need to do is sign on to your Skype account, via the Skype website; your Skype Number will appear when you click on the Manage Features tile or link.

  • Purchased Hong Kong Skype number but Caller ID not...

    I just purchased a Hong Kong Skype number. I live in Hong Kong. I enabled Skype number as my Caller ID number via the website. Everything is all set. But when I dial another Hong Kong number, whether it is a fixed line or mobile number, the other side cannot see my Skype number, but instead only see UNKNOWN or Out of Area. Can you please help resolve this issue? From your support page, Hong Kong Skype number definitely supports Caller ID!

    I recommend you contact Skype Customer Service to report that Caller ID is not behaving as expected.  Please provide the details that you have here in your post.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
    You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started.     When will I be able to set my Dutch (+31) online number as caller identification for outgoing Skype calls?
    It is quite frustrating to have to use my mobile number, especially since I bought a online number for all my communication. Now friends keep calling me on my mobile number, instead of my Skype online number!

    Log into your Skype account here on the Skype web site, using the "Account" link at the top of the page.  If your Online Number is a US number, you should be able to go into your Caller ID settings and put that back.  It appears that these settings are mysteriously disappearing from some accounts, and for others the settings disappear when there is a change to either Online Numbers or subscriptions.  Unfortunately, there has been no clear explanation from Skype, but at least you have the means to put that number back on as your Caller ID.

    I got many complaints that my number is bothering people repeatedly for the last 2 weeks.
    Is there something I can do? 

    I have the same problem. People call me back on my skype number and ask if I have called them, when I have not done so. Has anyone have any idea why this is happening?

    I try to set the maximum number of calls to 3.
    As far i understand it is done by XML script under phone service, but thats about it...
    where do i ha ve to change this value in database...

    its correct that i meant (Multiple Calls/Call Waiting), and i know how to change that inside CallManager, but i want to make it accessible for the phone user on the display, and obviously only for his own phone number.
    That s what i m trying to do, write an XML application and put a field on the display so the user can change that by himself.
    May be u can give me a hint where i find the chapter in the documentation.

  • Unable to reinstate Skype number

    We have just realised that our Skype number has expired (no notification received - we only realised after trying to call it several times ourselves).  However, we now cannot access the Billings and Payments screen (get an "oops we're having technical difficulties screen). If we click on the "reinstate number" link we get a "page not found" message.
    Basically we cannot do anything at all to try and reinstate our number.  We've been trying for a few days now, and really need our number back as it's advertised on our website.

  • Skype Number (#) - Receiving Calls Abroad

    Hi,
    I live in NYC and bought a NYC #.
    I'm traveling to Morocco soon and I can't seem to quite figure out whether I will be able to have people contact me on the NYC Skype Number I bought.
    Basically, I am hoping that people in NYC that wish to call me when I'm in Morocco will be able to do so, and only pay the local NYC rates (i.e., they won't be surprised when their Verizon bill says they called Africa and not NYC when they were dialing a 347 #).
    Any advice?

    that is correct, but in reality they need to be close enough that the call to your Skype Number is a 'local' call (I presume you are in North America) -- being in the same country is not necessarily enough
