Unable to set up printer when installing drivers.

My office uses a HP Deskjet 4620 wireless printer. And we just ot a new computer, so we tried to connect the printer to the computer via wireless.
The computer was able to detect the printer in Device and Printers. And it shows up in the Devices and Printers. As we have not installed the driver for the printer, we ere unable to start printing. So we went online to the HP website to download the drivers for the printer. We started with the basic driver. But when insalling, and after choosing wireless mode, we saw the 'checking network environment' bar fill' and it told us to plug in the USB. we refused and since the printer is alreay on the network, where other computers are using it at the time, we chose the ' rinter is already connected' option. The printer's wireless is lighting with a blu light, so we chose 'printer is connected' option, which told us to input the printer's iP address. So we did, but after pressing 'NEXT', it said that the driver is unable to find the printer.
We have rechecked the ip address, which is the one displaed on the printer.
We have tried printing with another PC, the printer works fine.
We have tried plugging in the USB cable, but even when the PC detected the printer, the setup is not able to find the printer, as the 'next' button was greyed out even when attempting to set up while to connecting via USB.
Windows was able to detect and attempt to install drivers for the printer, but the drivers installer was unable to add the printer.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Please click the wireless icon on the printer and locate its listed IP address, be sure to clarify the exact IP address, subnet mask and Default Gateway of the printer.
On your PC keyboard click the Windows logo and the R keys simultanly, then type CMD into the Run dioalog and click OK.
Type IPCONFIG and click on Enter.
Locate the IPv4 information of your PC (you might need to scroll up).
What are the IP Address, subnet mask and Default Gateway of your PC?
What happens if your type the printer's IP into your web browser? can you access the pritner homepage?
What security software you have installed on your PC?

Are you receiving any error messages when you print from the desktop? Its possible the print spooler is having issues which is not pushing the jobs to the printer. Lets restart the print spooler to get any old jobs that could be stuck in the queue removed.
1. Press the start orb in the bottom left on the screen.
2. Click on "Run"
3. Type "services.msc" (without the quotes)
4. Locate the Print Spooler service in the right column
5. Click restart on the service link on the left
After it restarts the spooler go ahead and retry printing. Let me know if this works.

Can't find print window to set my printer when I click on the printer add on icon

My Epson printer is set as default printer. I am unable to find the print window to add my printer to firefox when trying to print from the add on icon.

It appears if you are unlucky enough to get ths recurrent fatal error(asI I have) and are not a pc tech, you have purchased a door stop. I have purchased hp printers for years but this will be the last. Like the previous consumer, I have wasted countless hours on this correction.... Will never happen again. I will not double the cost of the printer paying consultants who swoop in like vultures to correct the problem.

T420s - Unable to set high resolution when on external monitor via DP.

Sorry, let me clarify -
Unlike the OP, I do *not* switch back to 50 Hz on battery. However, I am running the NVIDIA beta driver. I installed this because with the Lenovo driver, the machine was not outputiting 2560x1600 over the display port. The highest resolution it would output was 2048 x 1000-something (out of the office now and don't have the exact numbers).
So yes, with the Lenovo driver the external DP was working, just not outputting the highest resolution. Installing the Nvidia driver fixed that problem. Whether it is related or not, I don't know, but with this driver I do not get 50Hz resolution on the LCD on battery -- everything stays at 60.
I have not rolled back to the Lenovo driver to test whethe this is reall a driver issue, but suggest that the OP try out the Nvidia driver.

The unable to set high resolution issue on the T420 (not the T420s) was sent to engineering by JameZ just a few days ago. See more here. I suggest you post there or contact JameZ so they know it also occurs on the T420s.

Windows logo warning when installing drivers

i have a msi gf4 ti4200 128 meg 4x agp vid card when i install drivers i get a message saying the software for my hardware hasnot passed windows logo testing.
i am having vid problems and game shutdows when playing bf1942 havent tried any other games yet ..when i tried to use the newest msi drivers it gets worse.

Do not worry about the MS Logo garbage. Just install the latest nVidia ForceWare Drivers.

I have the soundblaster li've sb0060. If I try to install drivers, i get the message <EM>this application or driver can not be installed on a system with an sb </EM>li've<EM> card that supports 5. speaker output. Any one have any ideas? am i trying to install wrong drivers?</EM>

Which drivers are you trying to install, and which OS do you have? Try the file Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe under Support > Download Drivers (fill it in the space under Search By Filename).

Error when installing drivers & software for Photosmart C410a

Hi - I have a Photosmart C410a that I am trying to use with a 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 laptop, with an Intel i5-2520M CPU. The printer was working with this laptop a while ago (back in March), but I applied a Windows update sometime in March, and since then the printer has not worked. I've tried several times over the past few months, but have had the same result everytime. Today I've been working on this for 11 hours (no, I'm not kidding...)
I've tried downloading the latest full software suite and basic drivers (separately) from the HP website, and I tried using the CD that came with the printer. I tried the Windows 7 wizard and diagnostic utilities available on the HP website. I've tried setting it up with a USB cable and wirelessly. I've used the ccc uninstaller to get a clean start, and have followed the instructions of the troubleshooting guides. But no luck.
I have this printer installed on another Windows 7 64-bit system, using a wireless connection, and it is working fine. However, on the 2nd system I cannot get the software or drivers to install.
The error I get varies a little depending on if I try the USB or wireless installation method, but the consistent parts is "Exit Code = 1603". When trying to install with the USB cable the error is:

HP Solution Centre reports unable to start as printer not installed; but I can print!!!

My Officejet Pro 8500 A909g suddenly stopped working. It was connected to my HP Pavillion dv9700 by wireless and has been for the last 6 months or so. My laptop is running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have made no software or hardware changes since I last used the printer; just a few hours ago.
I can now print again (having run through all the steps listed below), but can no longer use the HP Solution Centre to run any tasks as it reports that it 'cannot run because the device installation is not complete'
In order to get back to printing, I did all the usual of shutting everything down...computer, router and printer...all to no avail.
Then I downloaded the latest printer software from the HP site (OJP8500V909_Full_14.exe) and first ran the uninstall section of that software; removing ALL of the HP software from my machine.
I used CCleaner to remove all traces including those from the registry as well.
I uninstalled and re-installed the software.... 3 times. (at least it gave me a chance to catch up on reading a good Terry Pratchett book)
Each time I varied the conditions relating to my antivirus... Kaspersky. First by leaving the AV running; then by switching off the AV and switching on the Windows firewall; and then finally by switching off both the AV and the Windows Firewall.
On each occasion, during the installation, the software 'finds' my printer on the network; reports that it is installing, but when it gets to the end of the installation and moves on to the part where it reads 'configuring the printer', it gets stuck and after waiting for some time with the green progress light moving from side to side, nothing further happens.
I have downloaded and run various 'help' bits from the HP site ; HPHNDU.EXE and HPPDU.EXE and printed the test pages from them as well as printing from Word and Adobe pdf; so there is now no problem in printing.
Now, when I run the installation software again without uninstalling, depsite inputting the IP Address of the printer, I still get the error message that no printer could be found on the network?????

One very important place to remove the other software is in the "server properties" in your printer folder. You need to click on your printer icon in the printers folder> then look for "server properties" , click it> go to drivers> remove all instances of your first printer you originally uninstalled. For some reason the drivers get hung in this and have to be removed in order for you to configure your device- Let me know of any questions

Driver Version Not Found" Error when installing drivers for X-fi Xtreme audio

I recently bought the game Bioshock off steam and have been unable to play as it crashes as soon as I try to launch it. After doing some digging around I found out it was a sound problem. When I was looking at the drivers for my sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio) I noticed that the driver called:?XFXA_PCDRV_LB__04_0079.exe has a fix for Bioshock. However when I install the driver I get the error "Driver version not found". I am positi've it is the correct driver for my sound card. I am on Windows 7 64bit.

I have Vista Ultimate x64 and I ran windows update couple days ago. There was a new update for my xtreme audio pci-e. I installed it and now my driver version in creative software update is .3.2. Before i updated i ran creative's own software update. It didn't find any new drivers. I was WTF. I think that new driver fixed my volume problem. I had problem's when there was a deep bass in a song. The sound card lowered volume levels then somehow. Now that happens no more. In vista's device control it shows the driver version as 6.0.0.203. Driver date is 7 october 2008.

Error message "unable to acesses IXP213.tmp" when installing itunes

I have windows XP and whenever i try to upgrade, install or uninstall itunes i get teh error message,
"Unable to accesses file
C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP213.TMP\
please confirm that registry exists or select an alternate route."
I've tried all the methods that i could find on the boards and in the trouble shooting page but none of them have worked. Got any ideas on how to correct the problem?

Bootcamp error code when installing drivers from lepard disk

hello everyone
ive just tryed to install windows on my new mbp and it was all going great till i put in the lepard disk to install the drivers
the disk starts up and appairs to start inputing the new drivers when is stops and tells me there is an error "code 2753"
im not sure what to do next to fix this anyone have any ideas?

I get an error message when I install windows vista 32bits drivers for my X-Fi Extreme Music... it says, error while installing, can't find a compatible product on your system, verify if it has been corectly installed ... BUT INSTALLING I JUST WHAT I WANNA DO ! WTF?

You are wrong. The 2.3 are for extreme music, you are thinking about extreme audio. Creative have really made a blunder with these names, not strange many are having problems. Propably trying to install extreme audio drivers on extreme music, and the other way around!?
Check that you have the right drivers, if you do. Try the trick where you unpack the driver exe file, so you get all the files from the installer on to a folder of youre choosing. Then use the "Creative Update Utility" popup to install/force the drivers to install. If you dont know what im talking about, search the forums, its been explained many times here.

Unable To Set Custom Print Margins In Safari 5.0.2

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to change the "default" margins Safari uses when printing. I have selected different print drivers, added custom paper sizes, even changed monitor resolution – all to no avail. I am trying to format some web content for letter size printing and it looks as though I will have to give in to the quarter-inch top, left, right and half-inch bottom margins Safari so persistently imposes.
I am hoping there is at least one other out there who has fretted over this issue as I have. Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Firefox does seem to have a much more reliable printing engine. Unfortunately, I am using a number of webkit CSS attributes available only within Safari. Gradients being one of these. Perhaps it's time to give up on them and simply render these custom layout elements as images... It's a pity really! Webkit delivers some very promising new technology for cross-media content delivery, yet without reliable print/pdf output control, these technologies and techniques are essentially useless.
I did leave feedback on this issue. Perhaps Apple will come up with a solution before I am forced to rebuild. .I most certainly would appreciate additional ideas and suggestions.

Vista - Error when installing drivers on Satellite A100-788

Hi,
I put Vista on my A100-788 (PSAA9), and the drivers available on the french Toshiba website.
But, when I try to install the Value Added Package (1.0.11BTN), the installation program respond with an error message :
.... NOTINSTALL .... (I don't remember exactly the message but it contains NOTINSTALLTVALZ or something like that).
Then the installation stops and get rid of me !

Hmmm without the exactly error message its not possible to say what could be wrong.
I assume you have a clean Vista installation on your notebook and also the BIOS was updated.
If not, do it!
