in summary - why cant my BB Q5 accept an exchange account all of a sudden?

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync not working in Mobile Network – Blackberry Z10
I have set-up office email account in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync this work only over office Wi-Fi not working outside of office Wi-Fi range. When I back to office all new e-mail loaded automatically. I have no problem with yahoo email setup in the same Z10 hand set work in both Wi-Fi and Mobile network. I have data plan with my carrier. Both emails were working in my previous Blackberry hand set Bold 9900. But with this New Z10 this become a problem
What could a the problem and I need help please

The URL you provided https://... does require SSL as it has a "s".
Have you tested the server OMA setup with a notebook or desktop (https://webmail.domain.com/OMA)?
You should receive a login prompt for username & password following by an Inbox listing of messages.
We used this step to verify server setup before configuring an iPhone. Lastly, we made certain that connectivity would work from outside or within our company by doing the following:
    1) created A record for webmail.domain.com to a public IP that route through the firewall on 443 to the Exchange server's private IP - this handles external traffice
    2) added an internal DNS record for webmail.domain.com to the private IP of the Exchange server.
This ensures that webmail.domain.com sync's to exchange from outside or from within the Enterprise.

  • Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync issues

I am unable to add my office's Microsoft Exchange to my email acounts.
I get the following message: "There was an unexpected error and the operation was canceled"
here is the response i got from our offsite IT guy
"What modelof blackberry is it? From my understanding blackberry doesn’t support exchange based webmail without an intermediate server or a desktop application set up to sync to outlook. That’s the main reason they are going out of business. We have an entire BES server here at GQ just so that our one blackberry user is able to work.
Id have to do some research if it’s a newer phone, but in all of my past experiences android and apple have been doing phone email better for the last 8 or so years."
any suggestions before i return it?

Your IT guy has no clue about the new BlackBerry 10 devices (and no clue about BB going out of business either for that matter.) Your Q10 should connect EXACTLY like an iPhone or Android device using Exchange Active Sync. Do they have Active Sync enabled on your account? I've seen the same error message reported when people don't have AS enabled for their account.
They need a new BES10 server for BB10 devices. Your Q10 will not connect to their old BES 5 or older BES server. Have them contact BlackBerry for more info. Right now BES10 migrations are free from BlackBerry.

  • Can't get E-mail setup (Microsoft Exchange)

Got my new iPhone and am pleased with it. One problem though, cannot get my mail configured.
Before the iPhone I was running a BB with the same e-mail account and never had and issues.
So the question is, who is at fault here? Verizon or Apple?
Anyone else setup exchange on their iPhone yet?

Hokay, my mom has a Microsoft Exchange account for work and I had to figure this out for her last night.
When you add the mail account (in Settings), first you add the email, then the username and password that you use to log in to this account when you access it from the web, and a description if you want. Then when it is verifying another field will pop up called server. This is the website you log in to access your email, for example my mom's is webmail.libgotravel.com, once you type in your web address it will continue to verify until your account is set up (no more than a minute). Hope that helps!

  • Setup microsoft exchange server

    Hi All,
I am using iPhone4 and would like to setup a Microsoft Exchange mail account to check my compan's mail. I have done all the setting by looking at the outlook settings on my laptop. But somehow it still doesn't work.
Below are the configuration details in the Microsoft Outlook:
    1. Server name for account: xxxx.company.com
    2. URL to connect the proxy server: https://xxxx.company.com
    3. outlook is connecting using HTTP server.
    Thanks.

I've only set up one gmail account on an iPhone for a friend of mine. I did it via the Exchange option and I always assumed it worked in the same way as all other mailboxes. When I have an attachment sent to me and I want to pass it on I chose 'Forward' and select 'Include Attachments'. I'm not sure when you simply reply it will include them.
    Hope that helps.

  • Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Error Message using VersaMail

    Device: Treo755p (Sprint), Palm Software
    Platform: Windows 2000, Outlook 2003
When I go to my work e-mail account using VersaMail, the following message appears:
IT Policy Update.  Your IT administrator has updated the password policy that applies to your phone.  Press OK to go to the Security application now.  You won't be able to sync with Exchange until you change your password.
When I click "OK," another message appears:
IT Policy Update.  Your administrator requires a password with at least 152 characters.
When I click "OK,", it takes me to the Security settings on my phone.  I've never set up a password on my phone before, so I don't know why this is happening.  I already checked with the IT guy and they haven't changed anything on the server.
I tried a soft reset and nothing happened.  I also tried to setting it up again as a new e-mail account, but Exchange ActiveSync isn't even an option when trying to pick the Mail Service.  So something is screwy with the phone/software.

Hello, I'm getting the same thing here, except I think I'm getting a better deal than some of you.  It's only asking me for a 118-character password.

Looking for a solution to print work emails from my Iphone 5 using ePrint

Unfortunately I do not have expertise setting up Microsoft Exchange. Finding tutorials might be challenging, especially if you have upgraded to iOS 7.
Sprint has a basic walkthrough here: http://support.sprint.com/support/tutorial/Set_up_Exchange_email/44049-118
Outlook has a walkthrough here but it is for Office365, but the details may be useful.

  • Xperia Z1: Problems with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync - unable to open emails synced

I have tried setting up my corporate email on the native email app that comes with the Xperia Z1 and have faced problems. The account sets up without any problem and the emails, calendar, To Do, all sync without any problem. But, when I click on any email, I get the error - 'connection error (my email address)'.
I have successfuly been able to setup my hotmail account. I was also able to set up my corporate email account on Nitro Touchdown, and it works without any problems. I have tried removing the account and re-configuring it and the problem still persists.
    Can anyone help with this?

The problem you're having seems to be the same problem as the one described in this thread: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1/Exchange-Email-problem/m-p/379323 which we are investigating but it only seems to happen with some non Microsoft servers. Could you check what server you're using at your company?

  • Iphone Email Setup - Microsoft Exchange Server

We have an exchange server and as a result having a little problem getting my email acct setup so I can "send" and "reply" to email... I can now receive email but cannot send/respond..
My IT dept is looking into it and asked me...
If you could find out if that device (IPhone)has a fixed IP address then we can get this resolved pretty quickly.
    Suggestions please...
    Tom Porter

I've also found sending email via an Exchange server to be problematic (intermittent but mostly not sending). I've laid it to the server I'm using, but this thing is still young. Some other sites also have reported Exchange issues.
Some reports have said Apple is going to address this issue in an update, but since many people were wrong about Exchange support in the first place, I'm biding my time.

  • Samsung S4 not syncing with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync

I've had my Samsung S4 for several months and everything worked w/o issue until 12/13/2013 when Verizon did a software update "update_SCH-1545_MJ7_to_MK2".
Prior to this update, my phone was synced to my work account without any issues. For several years before that, I had other phones synced as well, all without issue. Since this update, all of my contacts/tasks/calendar work just fine.
The problem is with the email, I cannot get email to sync past 12/10/2013. The phone syncs up and loads emails dating back to 2007, but it will not give me any email past 12/10/2013. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, changing push to every 5 minutes,
    resetting the phone. Nothing works.
I've spoken with our IT department, they can't figure it out. They referred me to Verizon. I've taken it to Verizon, no one there seems to have a clue. I even asked them to revert my phone to the prior software version, but they claim it's not possible.
One of the main issues I believe is the inability of the new software to allow me to access the port #'s being used. I recall the prior version of software to allow me to change these, the new version does not allow or even show what port it's using.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I believe we are running Windows XP, unsure of the version of Outlook. We are a small city government, so newer software (2007/2010/2013) is highly unlikely anytime soon.

It looks like Sean Greenlee's response was spot on. My IT guy found an article on removing the phone partnership.
Per him, "You can use the remote wipe command to delete
a mobile device partnership from the Exchange server. This action, which is primarily useful for "housekeeping" purposes, will delete from the Exchange server all states that are associated with a specified device. If a user tries to connect a mobile device
to the Exchange server after the partnership between the mobile device and the Exchange server has been deleted, the mobile device user will be forced to re-establish the partnership with the Exchange server."
He completed the remote wipe today, I removed my account, re-started the phone and re-installed the account and everything seems to be working.
    Best of luck.

  • Exchange ActiveSync - Exchange server down

We had a situation this weekend where the Exchange store didn't come up properly after a restart. Apparently, there was a sync pending for one of the iPhones when this happened, as the Application log was quickly flooded with error messages:
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [sbs2.xxxxxx.com] User: [[email protected]] HTTP status code: [503]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.
This error was being posted about twice per second. While the error log getting hammered isn't ideal, the bigger issue was that the user's phone was rapidly draining the battery from all of the activity.
Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this in the future?

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  Well I will answer your questions as best I can.  First here is a link for the Administrators Guide for MicroSoft Exchange Activesync  http://www.palm.com/us/support/handbooks/treo/Treo650_ExchangeActiveSyncAdminGuide.pdf.  As you look thru it you will see that when it is talking about your data it states that it syncronizes which means the device updates the server and visa versa when you sync. So in answer to your question, if you setup a 680 to sync to an exchange server does it sync or simply update the server?  The exchange server has the ability for it to syncronize, both update each other.  Now I am not a system administrator but I would strongly believe that feature can be modified on the server end and that may be the case with a free exchange server account.  So what they are telling you is either they have their server set only to update the mobile device or they dont know how to set it up any other way.  As expensive as the MicroSoft Exchange Activesync software is I would assume that full service would be for a fee.  So in answer to question 1, yes an Exchange Server will syncronize (providing it is setup to do so).  Now for question 2.  In regards to the Pre, There's no special client application that we know of.  You can connect the Pre as a mass-storage device via mini usb and drag-and-drop into preexisting folders made for those files.  As for other types of syncing, such as Outlook, we have no information as to how that will work yet.  The best information available (about the only information) is at www.palm.com/pre.

  • Exchange Activesync and multiple smtp addresses in same domain

    Hi,
Could anyone help with this if it is possible via Exchange Activesync or a third party software?:
I have a domain user called UserA with three smtp addresses in exchange server 2007SP3 (1 primary -
    [email protected] ) and 2-secondary -
    [email protected] and
    [email protected] ).
The user has been  successfullly setup on an iphone with Exchange Activesync using the primary address. Now, the management wants UserA to be setup to receive mails for the other two secondary addresses using the Domain username
    UserA on the same iphone.
Our Exchange team have tested the practicality of this on the iphone and doesn't seems possible; the error was ''Can't create account- An identical Exchange account already exists''
when this was attempted on iphone. Is this error IOS related or EAS.
I have searched everywhere for any documentations from microsoft  or any of the smart phone vendors (please point to any link that may exist) to confirm this as a proof to the management.
    Thanks.
    Ajagbe T.I.

I'm seeing this same limitation and I'm needing to determine if it is an ActiveSync limitation from Exchange or if it maybe is a limitation of the mobile device.
I have customers who are delegates for multiple exchange mailboxes.  For the sake of example I'll use the following:
John Smith ([email protected]) is a delegate on a shared mailbox ([email protected]) and a delegate for his boss, Cheryl Thompson ([email protected]).
John has an Iphone 4S running IOS7.  He adds his exchange account ([email protected]) and accesses email/contacts/calendars on that account with no issues.
Next he adds the shared mailbox by putting [email protected] in as the email address of the account, but he uses jsmith with his password as his user credentials.  The account is added and John is able to access the shared mailbox and calendars for
    this account.
When he trys to add the 3rd account for his boss, he uses his boss' email address ([email protected]) with his jsmith credentials and he gets the following error:  "Cannot Create Account:  An identical Exchange account already exists."
Any idea of whether this is an Exchange 2010 limitation or an IOS limitation?  The infrastructure we are using is Exchange 2010.
