Unable to shuffle music videos in IOS5

Hi, I just downloaded IOS5 to my iPhone and all my music videos were put into a new folder called "Videos", but there is no shuffle function, so now I can't shuffle my music videos like I used to do and once and they won't automatically go onto the next song either, so I have to keep picking a new song. Very frustrating. Apple.... please make shuffling available in videos, otherwise I don't like it. I am now going to try and restore my phone back to the previous version. Argh!!!

If the iPad works the same way as the iPhone, I found a workaround, created a playlist in my music (instead of videos), added my videos to this playlist then play everything off the 'Music' app rather than the 'Videos' on my iPhone. Works perfectly for me, can shuffle, loop...

I am unable to shuffle music videos added to iTunes Playlist. I want to listen songs present in playlist with a random selection instead of a sequential playback. Also when I activate the shuffle button while playing videos the playback stops after completion of the current track.
So please suggest a way out.

Unable to view music videos in iTunes on mac

I have iTunes on a G5 Mac Pro It is on the latest version of 10.5 with the most recent update to iTunes. I am unable to view music videos many of which I purchased from the iTMS or came with music CD's as extras some are m4v others are mp4.
If on import I set the option for format as being Music Video I cannot get the videa to launch double clicking on the video gives a picture in the album cover window but does not launch the video viewer nor does the video play. I dont often view music videos just Movies or TV Shows and last time I did I recall Music Videos playing they opened in a seperate window and there was once a setting in preferences where you could choose if a video launched in a new window or used on in iTunes.
I have used the info window to change the video type to standard movie and then going back to the file in iTunes double clicking launches the video in full screen mode. Once I then set back to Music Video it reverts to refusing to play.
In any format the file plays in Quicktime
Any suggestions pointing to where the problem may lie would be welcome. I cant see any relevant settings to set how a video displays in either menus or Preferences other than ensuring video window stays on top. It maybe in one of the many upgrades this Mac and iTunes has had the settings have been corrupted.

They will not show up in a separete category in iTunes. This is because the videos will show up as songs so that you can play the audio portion of a video without the video. Try it.

Shuffle music videos using front row

Hello, I just can´t figure it out, can I shuffle music videos using front row?

I don't think anyone's figured out how to do that. Music and music playlists from iTunes are played through iTunes. However, even if your video is inside iTunes the video is played through Front Row using the QuickTime Player application, not iTunes. Since the QuickTime Player application is not reading playlists from iTunes and has no "shuffle" option of its own, I don't think it can be done. If you do make a playlist in iTunes that has videos on it, all you get is the audio and a black screen when they're played with iTunes.
I would suggest you send Apple some Mac OS X feedback and let them know you'd like to see an option like this.

Shuffle music videos in Apple TV 2??

Does enyone know if apple tv 2 has the option to shuffle music videos played form the iPad 2?
I've red some discussions from 2008 where they said that apple tv was able to shuffle videos by holding the play/pause button, but I'm trying to do it and it doesn't work.
Any information would be highly appreciated!!!

Unable to add music videos file to itune for my iphone

Hi... I am unable to add music videos file to my iphone through itunes as i have added a file to library from the files menu of the itune 10 but still i am unable to have the music videos please help. Mp3 file are working very well but unable to add music videos that i have converted in to iphone mp4 format please help out thanks...

Solved. I changed the iT folder and my iP got lost the connection with the proper library. Had to change it back and re-connect to the correct library.

Is there a way to shuffle music videos on the Touch?

The Touch is my first video iPod, and I was shocked to see I can't shuffle my videos. I just bought a slew of music videos, and I would like to be able to organize them into playlists and shuffle those, just like my songs. Right now I can only play one video at a time, then I have to manually go back and select another video.
Am I missing something? Or will this functionality be added in a future software update? Playing videos just isn't very convenient or enjoyable at all with the current lack of shuffle capability. Anyone else feel the same, or am I all alone on this?

Have done the feedback thing, and hopefully others have as well. Any idea if this functionality of being able to organize playlists of your music videos and play them as such is going to be be possible in any upcoming software upgrade?
I have actually gone ahead and got the universal dock and component cables, so I can view my music videos on my big screen TV and sound through my stereo and speakers. Sure would be nice to be able to allow a playlist of videos to continually play nonstop without having to go to the Touch after the conclsusion of each single video and select the next one to play.

Shuffle music videos in landscape

IOS 7 - I created a playlist with just music videos. When it plays the videos can only be viewed in portrait mode. If you rotate the phone (5) to landscape the album art pops up. Excuse me Apple video is viewed in landscape mode. Additionally, my music videos are checked no for skip when shuffling. In IOS 6 the video would pop up when it came to a video, now it just shows the album view in landscape mode. Major disapointment.

I drove a cab for a year. I had my iPod 1g mounted between the two sun visors. I played music videos (audio through the cab speakers) for my passengers at night. THEY LOVED IT! That was 2009-2010. With that function gone, I lost a lot of tips. I understand Music Videos are VIDEOS as one lummox keeps stating, but in iTunes, you could load an entire playlist of music videos and play them in landscape. You had all the same options as video - continue where last left off, etc... It's a function that earned me twice as many tips because I could take requests (I have a lot of music videos) from drunk passengers that liked watching the videos. APPLE BRING THIS FUNCTION BACK!
As of IOS8 (8.1.2) this is still not happening

Is there no function that makes it possible to shuffle the music videos purchased? Its annoying to press play everytime a video is finished, it would be nice to be able to shuffle the videos like the songs....

IPod says unable to locate music video question

Big time newbie here to the whole iPod thing. I bought the touch for my wife for Christmas and I'm trying to load it up with some stuff before I give it to her. I bought a music video on iTunes and when I sync and try to load it I get a message that says "unable to locate video". I look in the iTunes folder and I can see it there. I restarted the iPod and the computer and still got the same message. I can watch the video on my computer via the iTunes player. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you backed it to iTunes you should be good with all the pictures, videos, etc. and they are still here. However there isn't really any way to retrieve them without the use of 3rd party software. Sorry for your loss

Unable to download music video to iPad

I log into iTunes on my iPad and most videos are unavailable, I cannot purchase them. This is also happening with iBooks. My software is up to date. Please advise, is it a setting issue?

You can stream music and videos from Internet Explorer (or SkyDrive). In order to transfer media to your phone, you use Zune.
You can download free (and trial) apps without a credit card but you can't buy apps.
Adobe Flash Player for mobiles is dead. It will dissapear from all mobiles. Simple as that.

Music Video shuffle taken away with iOS5?

So I made the mistake of updating my iPad software to 5.01, and now I can no longer shuffle my music videos from my playlists? I can only see the video by going into videos, selecting a video, watching, going back, selecting another one, etc? I was able to shuffle them from my music video playlist before the upgrade. Why take away that functionality? I'm keeping my Touch at the current OS since that still works, but a shame the larger iPad won't shuffle music videos. Why make it harder on end users to enjoy their content they purchased?

Your observations are all correct. The ipod touch cannot shuffle music videos.You can shuffle songs and etc but not music videos. It would be a great feature i recommend you leave feedback at the link below. I happen to have 22 music videos that i enjoy watching and a shuffle feature would be nice.

How do I get Music Video's to play in iTunes on iPad Mini with Shuffle option on Playlists (it's only playing the music not video's)?

Hi. I have got Music Video's on iPad Mini on a Playlist on iTunes. When I use 'shuffle' option the audio of the track is heard but no video is played (only a 'still' from the video). When using the Video option on the desktop, plays videos but does not allow you to 'playlist' them or shuffle them. I can shuffle Music Video playlist on iPhone and on PC. So why not on iPad Mini. Can someone help? Thanks

There does not appear to ba a facilty for this on the iPad. However there are a number of apps that will allow you to create and play video playlists. Try VP Lite which is free.

Unable to transfer music vidios from itunes to my ipod

I just bought a new ipod and unable to transfer music videos from itunes to ipod, my old ipod was working fine, and i don't remember making changes on the setting tab,help please.

Since you are running Windows 2000, you most likely have a pretty old version of Windows Media Player. Easiest thing for you to do would be to puchase a USB Card Reader that supports Micro SD cards, and simply drag and drop your music to the /AUDIO folder on the card. Put the card back into your phone and you're done!

ITunes will not play music videos through airplay

This is a specific user account issue. If I create a new account I do not have this issue. That being said I really want to solve this for my existing user login.
Music Videos (and tagged as such) play in iTunes fine.
If I select my AppleTV (which is listed as an airplay device). It completely ignores the selection and continues to play on my Mac. I am unable to play Music Videos over airplay.
When playing music I am able to select any airplay device and it works fine.
When playing movies I am able to select any airplay video device and it works fine.
If I change the Music Video tag to Movies it plays fine
If I change it to Home Videos it plays fine.
If I try to launch iTunes in safe mode it fails to play at all because of the lack of Quicktime support.
Obviously it's something in my ~/Library that is messing it up somehow.
The only plugin I have is AudioScrobbler.bundle and removing launching iTunes does not solve it.
I've tried recreating all of my iTunes preference files and that doesn't solve the issue.
It's maddening!
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have narrowed it down to the ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.iTunes.(incredibly long hash).
Removing this file causes a new one to be regenerated and that solved nothing.
Removing the ~/Library/iTunes directory and the ByHost preferences file and rebooting did work temporarily.
There was only one plugin (AudioScrobbler.bundle) in the iTunes directory.
I was able to play a music video and select the AppleTV and then broadcast to it. This lasted last then a few hours and now it's back to the way it was before. Select the AppleTV is silently ignored.
Highly frustrating. I have a broke and fixed version of the com.apple.iTunes ByHOST preference file but doing a diff of the two is useless as most of the xml entries are long strings of hash values. No human discernable difference between the working and not working files. At this point I defintely want to file a bug report.
