Unable to sign in to iCloud

i just upgraded to iOS 5 and my iPhone 4 wont let me sign into iCloud or any of those apps using my Apple ID and password that i just verifiied. i type in my info then it says "Verifying" with the loading circle thing for like 2 minutes then "Verification Failed The request timed out." Help?

Common problem many are having.  Although Apple claims its been fixed, I am still experiencing it.  Maybe tomorrow.

I"ve restored and restarted my Apple TV....I've signed in and out... I've changed my Apple ID pI've tried signing into iCloud using an other apple ID and there's no problem there - I click Agree and it takes me to iCloud. I can log in no problem on my other devices to it.... Any advice??????

Solved my own problem. My iMac was waiting for acceptance of iCloud Terms & Conditions.

  • Unable to sign in to iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, or App Store

Ok, this is STUPID frustrating. I'm NOT a novice user with Mac's, but I'm stumped to figure this bug out...
    13" MacBook Pro 5,5
    2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo
    8GB Ram
    120GB SSD - OS & Applications
750GB 7200rpm HDD inplace of optical drive.  - User files/profile set on this HDD.
Fresh Mountain Lion/10.8.1 (clean) install from USB (formatted HDD first).
    Problem:
    1. Can not sign in to ANYTHING that uses my Apple ID (except iTunes. iTunes seems to be working, I think). Specifics listed below:
    Error Messages:
    iCloud (System Preferences):
You can't sign in at this time.
    Try signing in again.
    iCloud - Calendar.app (Preferemces>Accounts>Account Type: iCloud):
Sticks on "Searching "iClound.com" for calendar servers" for quite a while then shows the message:
"Calendar found a CalDAV server but couldn't log in with the user name "[email protected]". Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then try again."
    FaceTime:
Sign in with my Apple ID username and password. Another box pops up reasking for my password, then I get the screen telling me my FaceTime address, where people can call me (my Apple ID). I click "Next", it says "Verifying" then "Verified" then boots me right back to the innitial sign in screen with the error message "Incorrect Apple ID or Password"....     FRUSTRATING!!!
    Messages.app (Preferemces>Accounts):
Enter Apple ID & password, a box pops up asking me to reenter my password, so I do. Then I get the error message:
"Could not sign in to iMessage"
"Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again."
    App Store (Store>Sign In):
Enter my Apple ID and password. It sits and thinks for a bit, then the box disapears like it accepted my input, but then does nothing. Doesn't show me my store account, and when I reclick on the "Store" Context Menu, I see the "Sign In" option like I never gave it my username and password to begin with.
I've tried to create new Apple ID's (through the menu choices), both using an external email address, and creating a new .me email address. No good there either:
Click create a new ID> Location = United States, Birthday= my birthday (im 32 so no limit there).
Doesn't matter if I choose to use an existing email or wish to create free apple email.  I get the "Terms of Service" screen, click the "I agree box" and then I again get the "You can't sign in at this time. Try Signing in again." error message...
I've searched and searched all over Google, even tried some of the fixes the Hacintosh folks are using to correct similar issues, but in-so-far nothing has worked. I'm at an impass here.
I installed Mountain Lion over my Lion install, and everything worked. I reformatted my HDD and installed a raw, fresh copy of Mountain Lion, and  *poof*  no workie, workie all brokie, brokie.
Before someone states the completely obvious, yes I know my Apple ID and pass are correct. I signed in to Apple.com, iTunes, and iCloud with it just fine. Using my computer's built-in service fuctions, or individual apps that I can point to my Apple ID, it wont let me in. I can't do crapall. Can someone here please lend a hand? Hopefully I'm not the only person having this issue?!?!?!

Called Apple and was surprised that the problem was actually solved in one call! Here is the fundamental problem (and I think it is mostly Apple's fault):
The Apple ID used by iCloud (and iMessages, Facetime, etc.) is DIFFERENT from the Apple ID used by iTunes etc. In my case, I had set up an Apple ID awhile ago with the format xxxxxxx, and then when iCloud started, Apple automatically set up an iCloud account with the format [email protected] because iCloud needs an email address. These two are different accounts in Apple's system. When I reset my password for xxxxxxx, it did not change my password for [email protected]
In case my problem is not your problem, here was my situation. All my services were working on my iPhone and iPad, until I went to iCloud.com and couldn't remember my password. I used the iForgot service, and entered my Apple ID (xxxxxxx), and then reset my password. This is where the trouble began.
I could log into appleid.apple.com, and "Manage my Apple ID" using the xxxxxxx name and the new password I had set. For the life of me though, I could not sign into iCloud, Facetime, Find My Friends, iMessages, etc. iTunes worked fine. I think this is similar to the OP. I tried signing in as xxxxxxx and using [email protected] and [email protected], all using the new password I had reset, and none of them worked. I knew the credentials were correct though, since I could "Manage my Apple ID".
    Here's the solution:
Go to iForgot, and instead of typing in your Apple ID as xxxxxxx, type in [email protected] (or whatever your iCloud email address is). Answer the security questions, and then reset your password. In my case, I reset it to the same password I had reset to with xxxxxxx. Then everything worked for me.

  • Unable to Sign-In to iCloud Because of an Old Account

I just upgraded to Yosemite. My MacBook Pro asks for the password to an old iCloud account with an old email address I don't have access to and don't remember the password for. This old account is the only one my MacBook Pro recognizes and now it has been shut-down because of a "problem", probably because I tried to have the password sent to me by answering the Security Questions and it told me I got my birthday wrong. Of course, email verification goes to the old account.
iCloud is set up fine on all iOS devices.
How can I delete the old account and/or get my MacBook Pro to recognize the current account?

    Hello Jtfenwick,
It sounds like you change the Apple ID but did not sign out of your iPhone before you made the change. To resolve the issue, you need to change your Apple ID back to the old account and then sign out of iCloud to satisfy the prompt. When changing it back you your old account it will not ask to verify. Once you are done, you can change it back. For more information, take a look at the article below.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

  • I am unable to sign in to iCloud because of a problem with the server, but I cant access other Apple services.

I have tried repeatedly to sign in to iCloud but receive a message about the server; however, I can sign in to iTunes and other Apple sites.
Has any one encoutered this problem?

I found the answer for my PC. The login does not work with IE which I noticed was the browser used as the default. But, I opened iCloud.com in FF and everything went smoothly.

  • Unable to sign in to iCloud since apple ID password is not correct

I changed Email to a a gmail account and no longer have the previous account.   I signed in to theis using the Gmail and use it to access the Apps store.  I need to change the settings but have not found the way to clear the old email. Do I need to call apple directly?

you need to be running OSX 10.7 or 10.8 to use iCloud i believe. It shows you are using 10.6.8 which doesn't support iCloud.

  • Unable to sign into iCloud on AppleTV after update

After the last OS update on my AppleTV, I am unable to sign into my iCloud in order to setup my photostream as the screensaver.  I go to iCloud sign in, put in my password, at which point it takes me to the Terms and Conditions page, I click on Agree, but nothing happens....it's just stuck on the "agree" page...   any ideas????? thank you

I would suggest to restore Apple TV again to factory settings.

  • Unable to sign into photo stream on apple tv

When attempting view photosteam on apple tv, I am asked to sign in. when doing so I reeive an error code "unable to sign in" "the iCloud temrs of service have changed".
How on earth can I resolve this so I can see my photostream on apple tv2??

Hi i had the same problem so i went to my Mac clicked on settings/icloud i got a notice of the new TOS accepted and done! My apple tv works with Photo Stream again, it should work with windows pc or iOS device also since when you clic on the settings for iCloud you would get the notice :)

  • Apple TV photostream "unable to sign in"??

Just purchased and installed Apple TV today but when I try to launch Photostream, I keep getting the same error message
" Unable to sign in  The icloud Terms of Service have changed.  For more information, go to http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/."
which would be fine if it allowed me to read AND accept the terms and conditions. I've gone to the Terms of Service page, but there is no way to acknowledge and accept.
I've check my Login and password several times
    I've restarted the Apple TV
    It has the latest update
I've signed in and out of iCoud on several devices without incident, and none of them mention anything of terms of sevice change
iCloud works just fine on my iphone, ipads, and macbook pro.
I've noticed this in a few other posts, but have yet to see a satifactory answer or solution.
    Any help out there?

Had same issue when I updated Apple TV to ios 5.1 earlier today. Just got it working.
Aparently Apple TV has no option to agree to new terms.
Install icloud program on your MAC or PC and then run.
After signing in with your apple ID it prompts for terms of use acceptance.
Once you have checked and agreed, cancel the computer to icloud sync
    and exit program.
Try Apple TV Photo Stream again. It will now let you log in.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT4847 i am unable to sign into icloud on my windows 7 computer using the icloud control panel . keep on saying server error

unable to sign into icloud account from my windows 7 pc. keep on getting the message serwr not available

    Hi,
In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears when you do this.
    Navigate to Containers/com.apple.soagent/Data/Library/Preferences
You will notice that many of the items are Aliases (to the Originals in ~/Library/Preferences).
    But there are exceptions.
Delete (Drag to Trash)  the com.apple.soagent.plist and com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist
Restart the Mac (I have not worked out is SOAgent launches when the Mac does).
    Restart Messages.
If this does not work navigate to ~/Library/Preferences
In here find and Delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
This will need a Restart of the app.
You will be asked Again for your Apple ID

  • Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with iCloud.

About 2 weeks ago this error popped-up at random. Since then I have not been able to sign-in to iCloud or download applications from the Apps store.  The same AppleID (and password) works fine on my iPad for iCloud and the App store for iPad.  Obviously I would like to try and upgrade my OS to see if that might fix the problem, but I can't because I can't download anything from the App store.  Please advise.  I haven't installed any software on this computer in ages so there were no changes to the computer prior to the error message popping up.  Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    You might try the following.
    1. Sign out of your account
(If you are unable to do this because System Preferences has frozen, Force Quit System Preferences and try again)
    2. When prompted, opt to delete, contacts, calendars etc from your Mac.
(You are only deleting this data from your Mac, not from iCloud, the data will be reinstated when you log back in. If you need to check that the data is in iCloud before deleting it go to iCloud.com and check each section for data)
    3. Having logged out, check that the iCloud accounts along with their data have disappeared from the Mail, Address Book and iCal Applications.
(If necessary, delete the iCloud accounts from each of these application separately from each Applications Preferences)
    4. At this point it may be worth trying to log into iCloud from the System Preferences iCloud settings again, if this works, all well and good, if it doesn't continue to step 5.
    5. Open your User Library folder in the Finder. (When in the Finder, go to the Go menu, hold down the option key (alt) and choose Library when it appears in the Go menu)
    6. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iCloud and drag the iCloud folder to your desktop. (This action only copies the folder and will provide you with a back up)
    7. Select the iCloud folder again in Library > Application Support and drag it to the trash, enter your administrators password when prompted.
    8. Restart your computer.
    9. You should now be able to enter your ID and Password in system Preferences > iCloud and log into your account. Check the services you wish to use and once you are satisfied it's working as it should, trash the iCloud folder you copied to your desktop earlier.
