Unable to sign into iCloud to read mail

I keep getting message window:  "iCloud is having trouble connecting to server."  Does anybody know what the problem is?

Hello Murray Campbell,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you do not use iCloud on your device, then you can go into your iCloud settings and then sign out.  Signing out of iCloud should stop the prompts for you to enter your iCloud password.
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Sign Out (Delete Account in iOS 7 and earlier).
Note:    If you sign out of iCloud (or delete your iCloud account), iCloud no longer backs up your iOS data. You can still back up your device in iTunes. For more information, open iTunes, then choose iTunes > Help.
On your Mac: Open iCloud preferences, then click Sign Out.
iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
Take care,
Alex H.

    Hi,
In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears when you do this.
    Navigate to Containers/com.apple.soagent/Data/Library/Preferences
You will notice that many of the items are Aliases (to the Originals in ~/Library/Preferences).
    But there are exceptions.
Delete (Drag to Trash)  the com.apple.soagent.plist and com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist
Restart the Mac (I have not worked out is SOAgent launches when the Mac does).
    Restart Messages.
If this does not work navigate to ~/Library/Preferences
In here find and Delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
This will need a Restart of the app.
You will be asked Again for your Apple ID

  • Unable to sign into iCloud on AppleTV after update

After the last OS update on my AppleTV, I am unable to sign into my iCloud in order to setup my photostream as the screensaver.  I go to iCloud sign in, put in my password, at which point it takes me to the Terms and Conditions page, I click on Agree, but nothing happens....it's just stuck on the "agree" page...   any ideas????? thank you

I would suggest to restore Apple TV again to factory settings.

I am trying to sign into icloud on my pc.  It will let me enter my username and password but does nothing when I click the arrow to sign in.  Also, I can't select the "keep me signed in" box.  When I click on either it does nothing.

I would suggest to restore Apple TV again to factory settings.

  • I am unable to sign into icloud.  When asked for my date of birth I receive a message that my dob does match Apple's records.  I don't remember setting a different password for icloud.

Since I replaced my iPhone 4 with the 5s I have been unable to access icloud.  When asked for my password I receive the message that it is not valid.  wehn using the security questions the system does recognize my date of birth.

You can have the password reset sent to the email address associated with your ID, as explained in the second option here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787.  If you don't have access to the email address, you'll have to contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password, or by contacting the Apple account security team: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

  • I reset my Apple password AGAIN, but still am unable to sign into iCloud and have been frozen.

I need to buy more storage but have been frozen out of my iCloud account as it won't accept yet another updated Apple password. I also need to update my user name as it is a former email address. Any suggestions? This is so aggravating!

I tried the reboot, but iCloud is still not accepting my password. I'm thinking I must have a different password for iCloud but it's not accepting any that I've used or ever used. Grr! Will have to call support.

  • I am unable to sign into iCloud since upgrading my iMac to10.8.2.

I have just upgraded my iMac to 10.8.2 and all my icloud service have been disabled. A dialogue box asked me to enter my Apple ID password and the response was password invalid. So I changed the password and each time the dialogue box would respond with password invalid. I have started and restarted several timeswith no improvement to the situation. I think my apple ID is OK as I am able to login to Apple sites such as this one with it. Any suggestions out there?

  • Cant sign into icloud and keychain access crashes on opening

I have recently experienced very frustrating glitches in my iMac's operability (2011 model, 1TB hard disk and recent upgrade to 12GB RAM to overcome very slow running).  The machine runs OSx 10.9.5.  I cannot sign into iCloud on this machine (although my iPan and iPhone both work) and every time I open Keychain access it crashes.  Sorry to post 2 issues in one thread, but I have never experienced these before and wonder if  they are  related?

    Do a backup.
    Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.keychainaccess.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.
What happens when you try to sign into iCloud?

  • Can't sign into iCloud, just hanging

I am unable to sign into iCloud from my Mac. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion. After I've entered my password, it just keeps on spinning. Before this, it denied my password, even though my password was correct, so I followed the instructions by pas70 here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4063142?start=0&tstart=0
Not sure what to do at this point.

    Hi trilobyte13,
I've got the exact same issue.
First Mountain Lion mentioned that my password was incorrect. After changing it several times, the problem wasn't solved. Right now when I enter my password (system prefs > iCloud > enter your password to continue using iCloud), it just keeps spinning.
In the Keychain preferences I pressed the 'Reset My Default Keychain' -button and restarted the Mac. Unfortunately the problem still occurs.
I have this issue on both my iMac and Macbook after I updated to Mountain Lion.
Hope someone could give us the solution?
    Cheers!
    Chiel@Utrecht

iWeb does not show the existing sites (which are in the other computer)
You need iWeb's Domain file from the other computer (your old MacBook Pro) — here's a diagram of where it usually resides:
...But since it "died" and presumably inaccessible, see this Apple doc on How to back up MobileMe data. It says:
“Any websites you have published with iWeb should still be available within iWeb. iWeb stores everything in a Domain file, normally located in the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (although it can be moved). If you no longer have this file, you can view your currently published pages and manually recreate them within iWeb, but *there is no way to import published pages back into iWeb*. You can manually back up the Domain file, or use Backup to back it up.”
By the way, here's the normal procedure when your old computer has not died:
_iWeb: Modifying your site from another computer_
iWeb: Publish to your MobileMe account from more than one computer

  • The sign into iCloud screen pops up every 2 seconds.

Traded homes and iPhones in Europe now and this an old iPhone 4.2.1 unable to get my mail from mail or sign into icloud on the Internet in safari on this iPhone

You need an device (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) with iOS 5 if you want to use iCloud. Furthermore it is also not possible to open www.icloud.com with Safari on an iOS device.
But if you want to set up Mail on your device with iOS 4 then you can do it manually. Therefor follow these instructions for devices with iOS 4: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5330
