iPad 4-Unable to sign into Messages/Face Time?
Used to work perfectly, now keeps asking for Apple ID but won't accept. Have changed the Apple ID, still a no go. Updates to IOS 8.1.3 and tried all the other restarts etc. no luck.
The fix was supposed to be updating to iOS 8.1.3 but since that didn't work, look here for some other suggestions. Make sure that you are signed into iCloud and into your Apple ID

I'm unable to sign into my face time. It keeps making me verify my email which I've done numerous times and I've been to settings but nothing. Help?
OK, I called Apple Support (since the iPad is brand new) and got a rep to fix the problem. He manually sent a verification email, which I received, and I was able to complete the process and get Facetime working. For some reason, the Apple ID and password (as far as the iPad was concerned) needed verification. Don't know why, but am glad it is now working!

When trying to sign in to Face Time, I continually get "Face time Activation" "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again". I am able to access the internet via Safari, so my network connection seems to be working. What am I doing wrong, and how can I access Face Time?

Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues signing into FAceTime. The following article may help to resolve your issue:

You may also want to reset your network settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: this will delete any network related settings (saved Wi-Fi passwords, etc), it will not erase any content from your device.

Hi,
In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears when you do this.
Navigate to Containers/com.apple.soagent/Data/Library/Preferences
You will notice that many of the items are Aliases (to the Originals in ~/Library/Preferences).
But there are exceptions.
Delete (Drag to Trash) the com.apple.soagent.plist and com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist
Restart the Mac (I have not worked out is SOAgent launches when the Mac does).
Restart Messages.
If this does not work navigate to ~/Library/Preferences
In here find and Delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
This will need a Restart of the app.
You will be asked Again for your Apple ID

Why can't I sign into messages on OSX Mountain Lion?
I just upgraded to Mountain Lion on OSX and I cannot sign into Messages or FaceTime. I'm getting this message every time:
"The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."

The Host File was the "fix" to the issue before OS X 10.8.2 came out (this updates Messages to version 7.0.1)
Editing the Hosts file can be done by some apps but is normally a deliberate act to stop some Apps "Phoning Home".
It does not sound like this is something you have done.
It is worth learning how to look at the file though.

I am presuming you have checked Date and Time (including Zone) settings

I am currently unable to sign into Facetime.
As the title says, I am currently unable to sign into Facetime from my MacBook Pro, Mac OS x 10.6.8. This has been the case for three weeks. I have not "upgraded" to Mavericks and I have not changed any settings. I have rebooted the computer several times and checked the time zone settings (having the computer in a different time zone than the settings is apparently an issue). Everything appears to be in order. I am able to sign in to the Apple Store and this forum and my iPod 4G connects just fine with the same Apple ID and password. Any ideas?

Attempring sign in to face time and imessage.
attempring sign in to face time and imeaasge and i keep getting Could not sign in please check your network connection and try again. I have reset my password. Gone into account settings and changed payment option as was recommended on one site.
I tried all the things it said and still no luck?? like I said I did the same for my two boys so I know it should work, do i have something clicked wrong somewhere else? I cant figure it out?? i tried to change the apple id and no luck???

Two of my friends have been unable to contact me via face time.
They click on my address which has the blue camera icon but
their call does not register. Is it me or them?
Others get through OK.Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. C3 Email unable to sign into account/can't create ...
A week ago I was unable to sign into my email account, after a few days I deleted the account. I thought I would add it again to see if it would work. I have a talktalk account so tried adding under other but I got the message unable to sign in, try again. I have tried under all the different email accounts options, gmail, virgin just to see if I can get it to work, but nothing does. Help, I need access to my emails!

I just got my new Macbook Pro. I tried signing into Messages for the first time and have had no success. I know my password is correct. I get the message "Could not sign in. Two part question
1) what happens if you sign into messages beta on os x lion 10.7.5 after it expired? does the whole application not work or just imessage? can you stil use AIM, jabbar, google talk, or yahoo? if you open messages beta does it immediately tell you that messages beta expired?
2) does installing messages beta on os x lion 10.7.5 delete ichat or just transform ichat into messages beta giving the illusion that ichat is deleted?Hi,
It was never completely clear whether it was just hidden or whether Apple ran a download page for iChat 6.
As the Download for Messages Beta was separate and "Deleted" iChat it would seem it would be another download for iChat 6.
iMessages will not function as it is only an Account type within Messages and iChat 6 does not have it.
Therefore messages on the iPhone will not sync to the Mac. (until you get Mountain Lion and Messages in that OS X version).
Mountain Lion and it's full version of Messages will not sync the iMessages that have happened in between the 14th December 2012 (end date of Messages beta) and the Install of Mountain Lion if you decide on that route.

Hi, Kilted, I shall put it as below:
Cancelled a contract on my Iphone and started another contract with Samsung Note 2 on O2. Managed to transfer almost all my data bar the content of my notes through drag and drop from itune to sKies prior to contract cancellation.
When I later connected the iphone to the laptop to carry out an advise of going into itune to drag and drop the note content into dropbox from where I could pull into the samsung device, I was denied access into itune with my id , the same which has facilitated my access to this chat community.
Question then: Am I not able to use itune again because of the contract cancellation?
