Unable to split the only visible partition (C) on a fresh system - 4 primary partitions

tl;dr I am probably stuck with 4 primary partitions (two WINRE, EFI, and C), and unable to split C on a fresh system installation from HP DVDs.
320GB HDD has failed on my G6 2233 HP laptop. I've mounted a 500GB replacement, and done the following things:
installed Windows 8 from the HP System Recovery DVDs (provided by HP, not recorded by me, fresh installation)
removed the recovery partition with HP Recovery Manager
installed all Windows 8 updates, and HP Support Assistant updates
upgraded to Windows 8.1
installed all Windows 8.1 updates, and HP Support Assistant updates
Went to the system partition tool, to see 4 primary partitions created...
At this point I was unaware, this may be an issue. I've tried to split C as seen on the image. Wasn't able to set desired values (max value was to about two of equal size, due to ummovable files), but that was nothing new for me - on the previous 320GB HDD I've ran into the same issue, as I could (but COULD) do two about 14xGB partions.
Here I've wished for 120GB and 344GB.
Anyway, even with various values I've got an error on the next step, claiming that there is no room on the HDD.
Then I've decided to try EasyUS software, as it helped me in the past.
First screen is without any action (there is a bunch of weird partitions there, all created by HP software/OS).
I could choose to decrease the partition size, but option to create on from the unallocated space was not active.
I am confused. If I am not mistaken, I should not remove the two WINRE and one EFI partition, but I either convert C to logical partition (have no idea how, this option is not active on EasyUS (could do that on my USB HDD drive), or remove one or more of the other primary partitions.
Even if I will find a way to convert C to logical, is that safe, and should I after D is created return C to primary?
I've tried to play safe, and let the HP/OS software do the job, and they left me with 4 primary partitions...
OK I've found the guide which sadly does not seem safe... Any other ideas?

Unfortunately they seem to habe different names... Probably are doing simmilar things, but could someone just point out is the EFI partition HP Toolls as mentioned in the guide etc.
I guess I should, after installing Windows 8, and removing the recovery partition, create a new partition then, and upgrade to 8.1... Would solve many issues, however I am not sure it would work, and really, do not want to waste two more days on this...

Hi @IgiveUpOnHP ,
I grasp you are having an issue with partition the drive.
Windows only ever allows 4 primary partitions because the word primary is only applilcable to the MBR partition tables which only allow for 4 partitions. You can have extended partitions. Here is a link to Partitioning and Naming Drives (Windows 8) as a guide.

maybe anybody can help or give me further information.
I have set up a scenario to send IDOC from a business system ( ERP ) to a business service ( EXT ).
Receiver is a linux system so I use the FTP-FILE adapter as communication channel.
The send-process is so far ok.
Here my tests:
1) exclude the specific IDOC in IDXNOALE table ( means no technical acknowledgment for this IDOC )
     result :
     a) message in SXMB_MONI:   status-flag: processed,   acknowledgment-flag: not in use
     b) message in RWB-Monitor: Sender ERP -->   Receiver EXT   ok
2) But I would like to have a system status.....   here now the problem
    add specific IDOC into IDXNOALE table   ( for request acknowledgments )
    result:
    a) message in SXMB_MONI: status-flag: processed,   acknowledgment-flag:   acknowledgment not possible
                                               --> error message: unable to convert the sender service EXT to an ALE logical system
    b) message in RWB-Monitor: there are now two message,
         first:        Sender ERP -->   Receiver EXT   =   ok
         second:   Sender EXT --->   Receiver ERP =   system error

   3) furhter tests:
        a) change FTP apdapter channel ( put some wrong settings )
              message in SXMB_MONI:   status-flag: processed,   acknowledgment-flag:   contains system errors

         b) changed only the receiver communication channel to HTTP ( other extisting scenario )
              then the acknowledgment works fine wihout errors.

Summary: The process works, but strange:
                  message in SXMB_MONI: unable to convert the sender service EXT to an ALE logical system
                  message in RWB: system error
                  No problems with HTTP adapter

for routing the ack back to the sender system you need to create communication channel of type idoc with name as Ack.....

1. Business system is correct because its working for other scenarios.
2. I checked Adapter Specific attributes in Business service and given Partner number which in maintained in WE20 for the partner in R/3.
3. Refreshed cache.

I have a JMS (Party) --> PI --> IDOC scenario.
Party: ABC_Party
Service: ABC_Service
I am getting the error Unable to convert the sender service ABC_Service to an ALE logical system when I test the scenario using RWB -> Component Monitoring -> Integration Engine -> Test Message.
I have already done the below settings:
1) Defined Header Mapping in Receiver Agreement for IDOC (Sender Party, Sender Service and even Receiver Service are specified)
2) Business Component (ABC_Service) -> Adapter Specific Identifiers -> mentioned details for SAP (IDOC) system.
The scenario works perfectly fine for a party-less communication JMS -> PI -> IDOC

You need to create party if its a B2B scenario
Under Identifiers
under agency select any standard agency , scheme name will automatical;ly get populated and name you can give manually as sender name

Searching for solutions did not succeed, as the EventID of ajczh is not found on the web. Anyone had this problem already?

I modified the ULS-logging to include verbose entries. The problem is correlated to Excel Services, which are functioning quite well on our side. Our Topology consists of an application server, 2 WFE and an office app server. We are using the BI features
of PowerPivot via an additional BI-SQL-server in SharePoint-mode.

I am trying to send an IDOC to sap system through XI BPM . But I am getting error as "Unable to convert the sender service insertgoods to an ALE logical system"
To rectify this error, I selected the integration process in integration directory and in (services---adapter specific properties I gave the logical system name as "LS" . Now i do not get any error in XI but idoc failed in SAP with error as "Partner profile not available "

I have done this type scenarios using A2A and BPM also. I got success.
Here what i mean to say , forget about your integration process for a while.
For example you are sending a vendor file from System1 to a SAP System (IDOC). Here that file send by sender should be converted into IDOC.
So during the configuration of SLD for Sender system ,we should give logical system (any name) for Business System.
That logical system should be created in SAP system in (SALE tcode).Then you can't get that "Unable to convert the sender service"error.
For integration process no need to assign any logical system , leave it blank.

Every time i open my system pref it never works and it just shows my cursor with the busy signal. and i can't do anything with it and the only way i can exit out of system pref is by going to force quit. and there it shows system pref is not responding.

yes, if you uninstall you lose whatever you uninstalled.
yes, you need to reinstall flash pro using the same suite. that's the only product with which your serial number will work.

Firefox 32.0.2 - Blank window pops out when switching to "Settings", the only visible elements in it are buttons OK and Cancel.

Hi Experts,
I have Idoc -> BPM -> Third party system scenario.
In which while getting acknowledgement i m getting the following error.
"Unable to convert the sender service CSBK_Invoice02 to an ALE logical system"
here CSBK_Invoice02 is my BPM.
I have checked the Adepter specific config into the ID.
For R/3 it is correct, and for Third party system it is blank.
As here BPM is giving error. But i am not able to give any Logical system there.
Any idea y this error is coming?
Its really very urgent, as my development is going into production tomorrow.
Please help me out in this ASAP.

Did you check the response from Mickael from thread..
1/ In your Business Process of your ID (configurator), go to menu "Service > Adapter-specific identifier" and in the part "IDoc Adapter", write your Logical System.
2/ Create this Logical System on your target system (R/3).
WARNING: XI allows you to used a Logical System for only one service (Business Process). Thus, if you are several interfaces, you must used different Logical Systems.

Leopard printing problems on several printers (Am I the only one?)

Since installing Leopard shortly after it was released, I've had flakiness with printing:
- With Tiger, when I printed, I could open the printer's window, and see the print job queued. The job would finish, disappear from the window, and everything would be fine.
- When the job was printing, the printer icon would appear in the Dock. When the job was done, the icon would disappear from the Dock. Simple.
With Leopard, printing has worked, but I have never seen a print job appear in a PrinterProxy window. I print, the printer outputs the job, and PrinterProxy is always blank. The printer icon appears in the Dock, and stays there forever. I found that I could ctrl-click on the icon and select the Auto Quit option (Hooray!), but that only worked for a while. Then the icons started staying in the Dock again. When I click on the Dock, there is no more Auto Quit option... just the "Application Not Responding" message. I have to force quit Printer Proxy after every time I print.
What's stranger is how long it takes for the PrinterProxy app to start up. The icon in the Dock bounces for well over a minute. Sometimes, the job finishes printing before the app is launched. If I switch between apps using Cmd-Tab, I can select the PrinterProxy app, but it never actually displays; instead, I just revert to the current window.
This is true for every printer I use, and as a traveling consultant, I use several. It is true whether I am printing via Airport, or over a direct Internet or USB connection.
The printers that are permanently in my Printer List are:
Canon i9100
Brother MFC-8840
Epson Stylus Photo 220
HP LaserJet 1320N
HP LaserJet 8800
HP LaserJet 6570
HP Color LaserJet 5550
Adobe PDF 8.0
All of these have the same problems. What's worse is, when I have a printing problem, there is no way to diagnose it, since the print jobs never show up in the PrinterProxy.
I have reset my printing system many times. I have deleted and re-added my printers many times. I have downloaded drivers from the manufacturer's sites, and reinstalled Leopard's default drivers. Nothing makes a difference. Strangely, after updating to 10.5.2, the Auto Quit problem went away for awhile, then returned spontaneously.
At the thread below, I show some of my system and crash logs from a prior discussion. Someone was helping me with the problem, but after asking me to post my logs, he seems to have dropped off the thread.

I can't believe this problem is endemic to Leopard. I know many people who seem to use Leopard without any problems at all. (They even print once in a while!) And yet, as a fairly advanced user, I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem! My system is pretty plain vanilla, with no weird mods, hacks or apps. Pretty much just straightforward creative and productivity apps. I use it daily for business, so I try to keep all wacky stuff off of it.
There must be a solution, short of doing a clean install. Can anyone help? Are there PrinterProxy-related files I can delete when I reset the Printer System that might help resolve this? Prefs?

I'm having exactly the same problem with a Lexmark C760.
When I inspect the Activity Monitor while opening the Printer Icon from the Dock (or press the Button "Open Print Queue" in the "Print & Fax" System Preferences), I can see the Printer Icon as "Printer Proxy (Not Responding)" marked in red in the processes list. The Dock icon bounces for quite a while, and after about 2 minutes, a Printer List actually appears under the PrinterProxy application and the process in Activity Monitor changes its name to "(null)" and its color to black.
Though there is no entry in the PrinterProxy list when I print something from another application while keeping the window open, I can select "Supply Levels" and the correct information appears, so it seems to be functional.
It also seems that there are several copies of the drivers remaining, as the application in the Dock is named "Lexmark C760 (4)", probably from my attempts to remove and reinstall the driver. Is there some interference with old installations of the drivers that still lurk somewhere, hidden in the depth of the many libraries? How can I get rid of the previously installed drivers for good?

Right now I am facing a big problem "Unable to convert the sender service CSAT_SendPeriodicInventoryBalances to an ALE logical system".
The same thing is working in our production system, and right now we have done client copy of the production system into our Sandbox system. I am getting this error into our sandbox system and not into out production system.
I am really not able to understand that y it is happening, at all the places i have checked but still not able to get clue....
please help me out in this problem.
If you require any further information, please let me know. Adapter specific option also i have seen, we have not set it into our production system so i guess it should not be required into the sandbox also.
One thing i concern is we have applied SP12 on Sandbox where as into the Production system it is SP6. It is because of the patching?

I've created a simple file to idoc scenario. my fileSender was defined as sub-element of "Business Component". when i tried to test i got the err:
"Unable to convert the sender service SandBox_File2IDOC to an ALE logical system"
in order to workaround the issue i had to re-create the fileSender as sub-element of pre-defined business system.
as far as i understand, idoc sender should be part of (i.e., sub-element) of business system. - my first Q: "am i right?
second Q: in case this is the correct way to solve the issue, should i define (as part of sld definitions) a new dummy business system?

A very common problem and a standard solution:
Make sure you have entered the logical system in ID :business system --> Service --> Adapter specific identifiers.

 Yes.The R/3 will receive data in specific format either it may be via idocs,RFC's or proxies.

 It tells that the msg in moni is successfully.
