Unable to start CS5.1 extended subscription after expiration of 2 week trial

I recieved Photoshop CS5 as a gift two years ago for Christmas, and have only recently tried to install it on my laptop.  I had previously gone for the 2 week trial, which expired a long time ago.  When trying to enter my serial number to continue with the prolonged subscription, and entering my Adobe information, it gives me an error saying that it is unable to start my subscription without any reason as to why.  Any advice on where to go from here?   I am running Windows 7 on an HP dv7-6135dx Laptop.

    Okay, so it goes like this... (I just downloaded and tried to set up Photoshop) The part where I put the serial number worked just fine with the green check sign and all.
    But after that and me signing in, the dialgue box goes like: "We were unable to start your subscription for Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Extended Subscription Edition.
    Please choose Close and re-launch your product. You will be prompted to start your subscription once you launch the product."
    So I clicked close and re-launched Photoshop. But when the same dialogue box came out, the same thing happened; even after I correctly filled in the serial numbers,
    I still couldn't subscribe for Photoshop and thus have a trial account of 30 days instead of a full version.

    I am using a Lenovo Laptop G510 that came with Windows 8 preinstalled. Yesterday I updated it to Windows 10 and after that whenever I boot my pc to desktop I get an error message saying that "Unable to start the Dolby audio driver". I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audio driver from my computer but still the error comes up. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?  Thanks

    Can you try these steps:
    1. Follow this guide on how to disable automatic driver installation.
    2. Press the Windows key‌ +X and choose Device Manager. On the Device Manager, navigate to
     -  Sound, video and game controllers > right click on  Conexant SmartAudio or IDT High Definition Audio >  choose uninstall > and ensure the delete the driver software for this device is checked.
    3. Press the Windows key‌ +X and choose Programs and Features. On the list of apps, uninstall anything that relates to the Conexant/IDT & Dolby then reboot.
    4. After the reboot, download and install the driver below (this should install the audio & dolby components)
     - Audio Driver (Conexant) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo G410, G510
    When finished, you the audio & dolby settings should now work and the errors should not pop-up anymore.

    AcowanSF2 you have the subscription edition of Illustrator as well?  If so are you utilizing a firewall or making modifications to your host file which might be preventing the software from checking in to make sure your subscription is still valid?

    Something very strange is happening, When I click on Filter-Sharpen-Unsharp Mask, suddenly, Photoshop Freezes. I have never had this problem before very strange. When I use the regular Photoshop CS5 Extended It works ok.

    There are two things you can do, one of which stands a good chance of clearing the problem:
    1.  Update your display driver from the web site of the maker of your video card.
    2.  Clear Photoshop 64 bit's preferences by pressing and holding Control - Shift - Alt immediately after cold-starting Photoshop.  If you're quick enough, it will prompt you to delete your current preferences.

    I have downloaded trial cs5 and install it but it wont start, I get this mesage: the application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d).Click ok to terminate the application.I have a modest machine 2600 barton (athlon) with 1,5 G ram and 64 ram grafic card.I had cs4 trial and it works perfectly so I thought this would at least start.

    There is no widespread failure.  A few posts on this forum don't necessarily indicate a trend.
    Heed Zeno's advice:  Adobe made changes in one of the updates subsequent to the creation of the trial version that support older processors (e.g., AMD).

    buildStage.sh script successfully  verified all media and executed rapidwiz script.
    Trying to start all services using adstrtal.sh but facing issue while starting adopmnctl.sh.
    Error showing:
    Starting Oracle Process Manager (OPMN) ...
    /usr/bin/linux32: /u01/oracle/prod/fs1/FMW_Home/webtier/instances/EBS_web_PROD_OHS1/bin/opmnctl: No such file or directory
    while installing "instances" directory is missing...

    I logged an SR and there is a Bug logged for this for redhat and OEL 6
    The sugguested the following....
    Please try the following:
    1. Rename /etc/profile.d/modules.sh.
    2. Retry.
    This resolved one of the issues but FMW config still fails for Vision install on OEL 6 - 64 bit......
    Sr is still open and I will update if this is rescolved

    I have downloaded & used the 30 day trial version of Indesign, and subsequently, I've bought the CS5.5 design standard.
    The trial version installed in my computer asks for the serial no. to continue using of the product.
    When I type the serial no. from my CS5.5 design standard package, I get a yellow triangle saying the serial no. is not valid for the product.
    What should I do to fix this?
    Must I uninstall the trial version and then install the CS5.5 design standard cd's? Is there a way to avoid this?

    Hi! We bought added photoshop for student edition late last year, set it up on the mac and now it no longer works!  We assume that this may be related to trialling the creative cloud version which has now expired and hence the photoshop program no longer works! 
    Is there any suggestions on how we may rectify this issue so that we can actually use photoshop which is what we intended on doing?
