  • Fiori Launchpad Error: Failure - Unable to load groups Resolved!!!!

    Hey Good Fellas,
This is a solution rather than a discussion, which i thought to do to with a kind generosity of spirit to give back to the community.
It gives me immense pleasure and happiness to write this particular post, because it is through SCN only i have been able to find the solution.
Ok, let's get down to the Business quickly, shall we?
I have been configuring Fiori App - Approve Purchase Orders. All the tasks for this have been done from SAP Help Site.
Recently I upgraded the ERP/Gateway (Its an embedded deployment) to EHP 7 and UI to SP09, post which the Fiori Launchpad started giving the below error.
If you look around the SCN, you will probably hit across these threads and so did I.
    http://scn.sap.com/thread/3571448
SAP Fiori - UI Add-on SP09 update troubleshooting
With the first thread, I tried everyone's solution and suggestions which had worked for others, but it didn't for me.
With second thread (Excellently posted by Masayuki Sekihara), it started off with lots of efforts and double-checks applying all of these notes hoping that it would resolve the issue. But I had done all the steps 1-8 and still didn't get the solution.
Besides the above two mentions I did umpteen number of other ridiculous things like implementing this note, that note, De-implementing another of the notes and everything i found as possible solutions on the Web.
Now, the breakthrough here is checking the errors in /IWFND/ERROR_LOG. Well, on the browser it used to give error 'Failure - Unable to Load Groups' while at the server side, actual error was something unusual and remotely not related to what the error looked like in the browser. In the back-end, I was getting the error "Data Provider implementation 'ZINTEROP_MODEL_0001_BE' '01' 'DEFAULT' does not exist". And this is something i know how to correct.
So just keep looking for the errors in /IWFND/ERROR_LOG and shift your focus there. That's really a good place to trouble-shoot.
And for the record to take care of the error 'Data Provider implementation 'ZINTEROP_MODEL_0001_BE' '01' 'DEFAULT' does not exist' you have to assign the DPC (Data Provider Class) to DMC (Data Modelling Class) correctly by navigating to IMG - SAP Netweaver - Gateway - Former Development - Local OData Channel Development - Registration - Assign Data Provider to Data Model. There you define the Data provider with the correct Software Version and Voila you are all set! You don't have to worry about the duplicate entry with another Software version, your correct software version is the one you have defined in the System Alias which you are using inside the service, which is generally DEFAULT.
I am able to get inside the Fiori Launchpad now (I was quite at edge to really give up as all the possible solutions had been ruled out for me ) and do see the tiles of the apps configured.
I hope this is going to be a good take-away for others who are having Odata handling issues.
The floor is all yours now for your kind feedback. Be gentle with me, I am a very shy blogger.
    Best Regards,
    Akshay

    Steve,
If you still have the error, this is what I did to resolve mines.
    1) Goto SPRO - SAP Netweaver - Gateway - Former Development - Local OData Channel Development - Registration - Assign Data Provider to Data Model
    2) Find out the entry for 'ZINTEROP_MODEL_0001_BE'
    3) Copy that entire row in a notepad for all the fields
    4) Create new Entry with all the fields, except change the Software Version to DEFAULT (As that's what missing for you'
    5) Save and give that another try.
This is what I exactly wrote in my solution as well.

A screen-shot perhaps helps you more.
Let the other duplicate entry with Software Version other than Default be there. Important is that the software version that you have defined in your alias must be the one over here.
Let me know how that goes?

  • Fiori Approve Requisitions error - unable to start app

    Hello Experts,
We have implemented the UIX01EAP (SAPK-10002INUIX01EAP) Fiori component. I have followed the link Approve Requisitions.
I have activated the OData Service GBAPP_PRAPPROVAL, activated the UI5 application MM_PR_APV, assigned the Business Role SAP_MM_BCR_Buyer_X1, Technical Role SAP_MM_TCR_T_X1 in the Front-end Server and the authorization role SAP_MM_PR_APV_APP in the Back-end server to the relevant User ID.
I have also followed the Configuration Tasks given in the above link including maintaining the Workflow Task under Customizing for Materials Management under Purchasing Purchase Requisition Approve Requisitions App Specify Workflow Task IDs for Approve Requisitions App.
After this when I login to the launchpad URL using the approver user, I am able to see the Buyer (MM) group on the home page and also the Approve Requisitions tile with the correct number of pending workitems.
But when I click on the Approve Requisitions tile to open the app, I get an error popup saying Failure - Unable to start App and get the below error in Chrome console.
Can this be due to some missing role/authorization? Or can this be an issue with the Approve Requisitions app itself?
    Regards,
    Saurabh

    Thanks for your response Masa.
I am getting the below response when I run the service /sap/opu/odata/UI2/INTEROP/ResolveLink service:

  • Error in Fiori Launchpad "could not start the app due..."

    Hello everyone,
I am having a previously unseen (well, at least for me) error which raises on a click on the tile "Track Purchase Orders" on the SAP Fiori Launchpad:
"Could not start the app due to an internal error" (see the screenshot attached)
I haven't found any help on this error on Google and SAP portals.
The other applications work fine. So did this one before the implementation of SAP_UI 740 SP09 (before that it was SAP_UI 740 SP08). We applied all the notes specified in this post http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-56967
Components needed for Track Purchase Orders are patched to their maximum levels (UIX01EAP 100 SP03 and SRA020 600 SP05). OData and UI5 services are activated.
Plus, this error doesn't appear in the Gateway error logs (transaction /iwfnd/error_log) so troubleshooting is difficult.
The issue is systematically reproducible and has been reproduced on several computers.
Thanks a lot if you have any insight about this issue!
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

    Thank you for replying.
I have inspected the element and clicked on the tile. The network tab is below:
    The status seems OK.
    The response for ResolveLink:
    {"d":{"results":[{"__metadata":{"id":"http://<server>:<port>/sap/opu/odata/UI2/INTEROP/NavTargets('PurchaseOrder-track~68')","uri":"<server>:<port>/sap/opu/odata/UI2/INTEROP/NavTargets('PurchaseOrder-track~68')","type":"INTEROP.NavTarget"},"id":"PurchaseOrder-track~68","shellType":"FLP","postParameters":"","text":"Track Purchase Order","applicationData":"SAPUI5.Component=ui.s2p.mm.purord.tracking","applicationAlias":"TrackPurchaseOrder","applicationType":"URL","url":"/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/mm_purord_tpo"}]}}
I'm surprised that gbapp_poapproval and sra001 OData services are called here (with an intriguing ";mo")... We have found these errors in our /iwfnd/error_log screen after the SAP_UI 740 SP09 patch. Seeing this, we have installed GBAPP002 600 SP6 and SRA001 600 SP4 and activated the OData services but have not tried to use the corresponding apps (meaning that we have not done any other app implementation tasks because we don't really intend to for the moment).
In case the two problems are related, these are the responses to these requests:

  • Unable to consume HTML5 app in Fiori Launchpad@HCP

    Hi all,
I've developed an HTML5 application that works ok and I can consume it correctly when launched standalone.
Now I'd like to integrate it into the Fiori Launchpad but I'm getting some errors.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
My WebIDE workspace is as follows:
The application structure was created freestyle without templates, but I sticked to UI5 best practices.
The HTML5 application name is: taskinbox
The component.js is declared as follows:
The application is configured on the launchpad as follows:
I know that I should reconfigure the configuration.js file but at the moment I'd like just to display the screen, even if the service call fails.
At runtime I get this error:
I am unable to troubleshoot this, can anyone please share some insight?
    Thanks, regards
    Vincenzo

Hi, thanks a lot for your help
I've tried to change the value of the component URL to '/', but now a new error is generated:
Also if I restore the previous value (/taskinbox) the same error stays on.
Not sure whether the UI5 application should be structured differently.
Is the general structure of the application ok?
    Thanks, regards

  • After Lion upgrade, unable to start any 3rd-party apps. Suspect it has something to do with the cache and permissions.

    Dear Apple Support Community,
    I am using a MacBook 15" (mid-2010) with Intel i7 2.66GHz.
Currently, I write to you via my sister's laptop as mine is unable to start-up Safari or any other web browser at the moment.
After a relatively smooth OS installation of OS X Lion, I noticed that my usual apps, Evernote, Twitter, Skype, and others, were not able to start-up at all (i.e. kept bouncing in place on the dock for what seemed like forever). I have since disabled their 'Open at Login' command and now start my MacBook up with no apps running. After restarting my computer countless times, I've realised that only selected native applications are able to open. Finder, Safari, App Store, iTunes, FaceTIme and most of the Utilities. Even on Finder, right-clicking is apparent blasphemy as the window freezes and the windmill pops up, and I am forced to relaunch Finder. Safari is only able to load simple web pages such as Google.
I have attached an excerpt of my Console for you guys (I could take a screenshot but dropbox could not even open to allow me to send it to my sister's laptop). As you can see, at every refresh, the same 5 messages appear, that a particular 'com.apple.launchd.peruser.501' keeps crashing. Correct me if I'm mistaken but this is probably the process handle for Launchpad. Although I am not sure whether this is the only reason for my computer's sluggishness post-Lion update, I would really like to eliminate this possibility.
    Things I have tried:
    Repairing Disk Permissions
Unfortunately, this yielded no positive results as it did not seem to rectify the problem. Subsequent reparations have produced the same log, hence I don't think it's working.
    Waiting for Indexing to complete
Some people have cited that the reason behind the sluggishness could be due to the fact that Spotlight was indexing my hard drive for optimal search results. I have since waited 7 hours for the indexing to complete, but am still stuck with a computer that cannot even open Twitter.
    Installing Onyx
Other forum users have said that it is possible that the computer's cache has been clogged up or something. I am not entirely sure what this means but I went to attempt to download the free product that most people have recommended. Although installation was a cinch, I was not able to even start Onyx. After 10 minutes, Lion just told me that the program had been unresponsive for too long and asked me whether I wished to kill it.
I am almost certain that the overarching problem could be erroneous sharing permissions. But then again, that is no reason for my computer to behave in such a snail-like manner. I would really appreciate if you guys could provide me with some sudo commands to use in the terminal or something that can fix the problems my computer is facing, after understanding the limitations that I currently face considering the state of my MacBook.
The fact that I am writing here on this forum is that I wish to do anything other than a full reinstallation of the OS that has caused me so much anxiety (Snow Leopard was just magical compared to this pile of sh*t, pardon my language). I just want to do everything I can before having to resort to such a barbaric act (I have a lot of applications but I don't know whether I am able to restore those using Time Machine as well).
In any case, thank you guys so much for reading all the way to the end. Help of any sort, be it sincere or condescending, will be fully appreciated. Please don't hesitate to ask for more information if I have not already provided it. As I am an average user, I may not be too familiar with jargon. So if getting the information requires complicated procedures, please provide a step-by-step.
Also, tl;dr: Updated from Snow Leopard to Lion, computer became slow and buggy, tried many things, didn't work, need help.
    Thanks,
    Nathan

    Thanks for the quick advice!
Unfortunately, I am still unable to open my core productivity apps, namely Skype and Evernote. Twitter, as well, could not start. But interesting quick fix though, I never knew you could do that.
Here's the error log after the restart:
    What else should I try?

  • Integrate Custom App in Fiori Launchpad - Duplicate ID Error

    Hey guys,
I integrated a custom app in the fiori launchpad. The first launch works perfectly. But if I go back via the navigation button and try to start my application again I get following error message:

  • Passing Parameter from fiori launchpad to the app in sapui5

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to pass a parameter from Fiori launchpad to the application. Then i have to use that parameter to construct the OData service URL and read the data. So how can we pass the parameters from Fiori launchpad tile to app? Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Seshu
Tags edited by: Michael Appleby (but please start doing this on your own)

    Hi Masa,
    I will explain scenario:
I have Main.view.xml and Main.controller.js in my App. I read the data in Main.controller.js using the following statement.
    var bus_scenario="Lead to Deal Approval";
    oModel.read("BusScnCollection('"+bus_scenario+"')?$expand=BusinessProcess",null, null, true,function(data,response)
Now my requirement is to get the value for bus_scenario variable from Fiori launchpad configuration.
What I did in Fiori launchpad configuration:
Then, When I launch my app by clicking on tile, the URL appears in the following way.
    https://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/ushell/shells/abap/FioriLaunchpad.html#ZCIO_DASHBOARD-display?BUS_SCENARIO = "ORDER TO CASH"
So I can read this parameter in Main.controller.js and assign to bus_scenario variable. But it is possible that user can change the parameter (from ORDER TO CASH to LEAD TO DEAL) directly in the URL, So that he can get the data corresponding to LEAD TO DEAL (which he should not get). Because when he clicks on ORDER TO CASH Tile, he should get only the data corresponding to it.
So, is there any other way to send parameters from launchpad configuration to app, so that we can use those parameters in app (Main.controller.js) ?
is there any way to hide parameters in the URL and send them?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Seshu

  • Fiori launchpad designer: missing tile templates

    Dear all,
We have installed the PPM Fiori apps on our system; we have managed to get these apps on the launchpad. Now we want to add a custom app to the catalog. If we start the launchpad designer and click on the catalog and then on the "+" to add another tile we should be able to select one of the 4 tile templates. However this page is completely emtpy.
Does anyone have a clue what is missing?
    Kind regards,
    John.

    Hi John,
    Have you done deleting cache?
    Post processing and Recheck
Having done your changes run the report /UI2/CHIP_SYNCHRONIZE_CACHE and check the errors are not in table /UI2/CHIP_CHDR any longer.
If your changes have not been effective you might have to run report /UI2/DELETE_CACHE_AFTER_IMP to clear the server side cache for PAGES.

  • Integrating Apps into Fiori Launchpad/ Developing own Launchpad

    Hey guys,
I am developing Fiori like Apps (4 Apps with related business background). I wanna give this apps a common frame. So I was thinking of start these Apps with a Launchpad.
To do so I assume I have 2 opportunities:
Place the custom App in the Fiori Launchpad
    Create a own Fiori like-Launchpad
I dont't wanna mix custom Apps with Fiori Apps, so actually there is no need to setup the whole Fiori Launchpad (I guess its a lot configuration work etc.)
Does anybody has experience with that? What are advantages/disadvantages? And does anybody has some links how to build a Fiori like-Launchpad.
    Thanks + regards
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
You can define a tile for custom app in launchpad. Customers like single point of access for apps.
