Unable to Start OBIEE 11g Presentation Server

Hello All,
I am trying to Start the OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.6) Services. Checked EM, Presentation Server is showing Down. Not Started.
Tried to Restarted the particular service alone, but no use. Getting the below error messages...
Module - oracle.sysman.emai.view.bi.AvailabilityView
Message - Can not restart selected component.

Separate Server for OBIEE 11G Presentation Server

In version 10 of OBIEE many people put the Presentation Server and the OBIEE Application Server on separate servers. Is this architecture possible in OBIEE 11G using the new Fusion framework?

can your try to start presentation services alone via OPMN command, and then check the sawlog0.log lastest log message..
example mine,
D:\Oracle\Middleware\instances\instance1\bin>opmnctl startproc ias-component=coreapplication_obips1
opmnctl startproc: starting opmn managed processes...
check the staus and also log message
still if its not working try to reboot your server and then "start all services"

Unable to start OBI 11g BI server due to Event Polling Table

Hi
We have implemented event polling in our OBIEE 11g application. However, when we are trying to start the BI server, we are getting an error saying ‘[nQSError: 58004] :A fatal error occurred while initializing the cache’. So, when I disable the cache from NQSCONFIG, the server is able to start. Also, when I keep the Cache enabled but disable the event polling table from the Event Polling utility, then also the server start.
Will really appreciate any help to resolve this issue.

Unable to start OBIEE 11g services

I restored my Laptop to previous system timestamp. and Installed Bitdefender Internet security on top of my resoted system.
Before this process, I used to login into obiee Answers. After This restoring Process,when i start BI services, I am getting
this following error. unable see the login screen
Please advice me. how to handle this situation.

Weblogic Startup Stuck While Starting OBIEE 11g Services

When starting OBIEE 11g, startup stuck with this message:

I met the same issues here and already try to remove :
a) $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<server_name>/tmp/<servermame>.lok
b) $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<server_name>/data/ldap/ldapfiles/EmbeddedLDAP.lok

Issue in OBIEE 11g Presentation service.

Hi All,
I found a problem in OBIEE 11g Presentation service, i.e., When i created an analysis with few columns in the criteria, it showed proper result, but when i deleted one column and then again add the same column in the criteria, result did not show the added column.
Anyone else find this issue?
Please share your views..

On the left hand corner you will see list of views in the report, on a basic analysis you will see title and table view. Select the table view and click on edit ( pencil symbol ). A new page opens up, scroll down a little and you will see the columns included and columns excluded sections. Make sure the column that you are trying to add to the report is not present in the excluded list. If it is, drag and drop it above.

I would suggest and best recommendation is,there wont be any problems when you go with this.
As admin tool is 32-bit supported,even that would be feasible.I personally installed on this one without any errors.
Even Rittman Mead suggested this one in there blogs.

Unable to start Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP5 64bits on Solaris 10

I installed the Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP5 64bits successfully on a Solaris 10 machine, but was unable to started up the web server application:
The error message is below,

just check the env file for the user who is starting or running that.
say if it is cshell, you can see the following variables in the .cshrc which will be under the user's home directory
setenv JAVAHOME WS_Root/jdk
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH WS_Root/lib: /libnow source that file
source .cshrcthen start the webserver.

Starting OBIEE 11g services in Linux

Hi Gurus,
I have installed OBIEE 11g on Linux 32 bit machine, Procedure i used to follow to start the services, using putty:
1. Run ./startWeblogic.sh after it comes to running mode, it comes back to $
2. After it returns to $, i start nodeManager.sh
but now, after i do the first step from putty, though running mode has come, it is not coming back to $ where i can start the node manager, hence i am unable to start node manager from the $ console
Is this a server problem? pls help..
I did Ctrl+c and tried starting startWeblogic.sh again, but its again stopping at running mode and not returning to $

we had run the scripts using nohup "nohup ./startWeblogicServer.sh &" and reopened putty to run other nodemanager and opmnctl scripts, now everything has started and working fine.

Unable to start obiee services from "Services"

I am not able to start obiee services from services.msc on my local. (Windows XP)
I get the following error while trying to start Oracle BI Java Host:
The Oracle BI Java Host service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service.
Error while starting Oracle BI Presentation Service:
Windows could not start the Oracle BI Presentation Service on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code -1.
Error Description from System Event Log:
The Oracle BI Presentation Server service terminated with service-specific error 4294967295 (0xFFFFFFFF).
Error while starting Oracle BI Server:
Could not start the Oracle BI Server service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.
Can somebody please help me with this.

Hi,
Regarding the Java Service have you installed the Java JDK (can be found here ) in a directory that contains no spaces?
Installing it in Program Files will cause issues so perhaps reinstall it into a location like C:/Java/jdk1.6/
After installing it to the new location you will need to update the instanceconfig.xml file (mine is located C:\OracleBIData\web\config\instanceconfig.xml).
Change the location of the Java Home between these tags to the root of your newly installed Java sdk. eg <JavaHome>C:/Java/jdk1.6</JavaHome>
Try launching the service again.

Starting OBIEE 11g on Linux 64 bit

Hi,
I installed OBIEE 11g on Linux 64 bit and it worked fine after installation. I rebooted the system and I need to start it again.
I am trying to run
run-sa.sh
run-saw.sh
etc.
but it looks like the scripts are broken:
./run-saw.sh: line 43: syntax error near unexpected token `('
./run-saw.sh: line 43: `ANA_INSTALL_DIR=$N($P(installLocation))'
it looks like these scripts were not processed by the installer during installation, $N($P(installLocation)) should have been replaced by the installer with actual paths I assume.
is there another way to start OBIEE?

Are you sure you are running OBIEE 11g? YOu are meant to use those scripts any more in 11g. See this post:

OBIEE 11g - BI Server Login

Hello Gurus
1. I have successfully Installed and configured OBIEE 11g suite.
2. I am able to connect and import meta data.
But when I go to BI Server home page (/obieehome) And enter username and password. It does not validate.
I have tried all username and passwords that came in as part of installation process but no luck.
I would think the default username DEV_BIPLATFORM should work, but no such luck.
So, now, I am not sure anymore which is the username I should be using in order to log in to BI Server home page. Any idea?
My weblogic console is just fine.
