This one should go to Sun.
Try OC4J with the VM installed with JDeveloper. Also, you might want to try 1.3.1_02 (just to see if that works on your machine)

Try OC4J with the VM installed with JDeveloper. Also, you might want to try 1.3.1_02 (just to see if that works on your machine)

Adf.oracle.domain error

Hello.
Some days ago i find one problem with deploying adf applications on Weblogic via http://<IP>:<PORT>/console:
extension-name adf.oracle.domain, exact-match false.
This Weblogic have 2 servers Admin and Main. This problem happens only after deploying to Main server. I find some information about it and shared ADF libraries from one tirget(Admin) to both targets(Admin, Main). I helped me.
But one other Server with weblogic (10.3.1) has not got any libraries. The Deployment panel in web console is empty. There are no applications and it gives me same error: extension-name adf.oracle.domain, exact-match false.
How i can add ADF libraries to the weblogic?
P.S.: Configurtion wizard has only 1 parameter in Extesions: Basic Weblogic Server Domain.
How i can add more extension libraries?

use JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 and applications will be deployed to WeblogicServer v 10.3.1.0.You need to use the correct version: JDev 11.1.1.3 needs WLS 10.3.3

Command line hangs when starting OC4J with MapViewer

Hello,
I have a simple development setup with a stand-alone oc4j instance installed via the MapViewer Quick Start Kit, on an 11g database, on a Windows XP workstation.
The problem: When I start the oc4j instance everything seems to start up successfully - the AS Control, the MapViewer EAR, etc.., but the command line window hangs after the last command is executed. It does not return to the command prompt. And if I close the Command Prompt window the oc4j instance automatically shuts down. Any thoughts on why this is hanging? Or is this normal behavior? Thank you. The text of the startup is shown below.
(Oh...and if you have any idea why I am getting a string of [ConverterRule] WARNINGS, please let me know. Thanks.)

I guess I've come to the conclusion that it's normal for the command window to remain open while mapviewer is running. I just don't recall that from my previous installations.

I managed to solve the problem by setting the "Load All System JAR Files during OC4J Startup" in the "Embeded OC4J Server Preferences" under "Global > Startup".

Unable to start services with different

Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 11g on a 64-bit Windows machine. When we start the services with the same user id which was logged in while installation the services go up successfully and everything seems fine. However, when we try to start the services with any other user id, the weblogic server fails to start.
Please let me know if anyone has any idea why this could be happening. Any help will be appreciated.

I added the user to BIAdministrators but still it is unable to start the services. Also, the ID with which I installed OBIEE is also not added to the BIAdministrators group but is still able to start the services.

Hi, I am not able to start OC4J on my unix box. It gives me below error. What might be the cause and how to resolve it. Looks like some port conflict but where should i check?

I suspect that the port 23791 is blocked. to release it use command `lsof` and have it killed. or run this command once and then try starting it might help:
$cd BI_HOME/oc4j_bi/bin
$oc4j -shutdown -port 23791 -password <oc4j admin pwd entered during installation>

Unable to start OC4J standalone server.

I have just started using Oracle 10g Portal Server. I have downladed the OC4J standalone and have installed at D:\JDeveloper\oc4j following the instructions of running the admin.jar creating the password. When I try starting the OC4J initializing it works fine starts the server with the message

Unable to start OC4J 10.1.3 on AIX

I have installed OC4J on AIX and on running the oc4j.sh script with -start option results in a coredump. Just wondering if I am missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Triple asdf, I agree that the shell script, oc4j.sh, is too simple and nice to be guilty here. From the console output, it seems the coredump happened when the server was initializing ascontrol application. To confirm that, can you comment out the following two lines in your j2ee/home/config/server.xml and then try starting the server.

If you got the server started, then try adding these lines and bounce the server.

Unable to start oc4j instance

Hi,
My application was running well. But since last two days oc4j instance is not starting up.
I reinstalled developer suite 10g release 2. But the problem is still there.
A flash comes when i click start oc4j instance. Even i m not able to read the messages coming on the screen & the oc4j window is closed.
My report server is not starting. I have tried to make report server up too thru naming service.
Kindly help it is urgent.

It sounds like your OS can't find Java any more because your computer's environment settings have been modified or perhaps Java was uninstalled. A quick test of Java is to open a Command Window (CMD) and type "Java -version" (without the quotes). If you get an error this indicates that your PATH environment variable no longer includes the directory where Java is installed. You may only need to clean up the PATH environment setting to get things working again, or you may need to reinstall Java.

Unable to Start OC4J in Linux

Hi
We tried to start oc4j in Linux using following command
[oracle@fa2220 setup]$ oc4j -start
Starting OC4J from /dbfiles/home/oracle/obiee_home/OracleBI/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home ...
It is stopping at this stage without any errors.
Linux Version: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3 (Tikanga)
We tried to see what is being done in the process, so we did strace and found the following:
strace -p 15924
Process 15924 attached - interrupt to quit
futex(0xb7675bd8, FUTEX_WAIT, 15925, NULL
And we checked the netstat –a | grep 23791 (default ORMI port) and found it is listening on this port.
But we can not access oc4j.
Can someone please help?

I managed to solve the problem by setting the "Load All System JAR Files during OC4J Startup" in the "Embeded OC4J Server Preferences" under "Global > Startup".

Unable to start OC4J & HTTP Server

I am installing Oracle 10g Application Server Release 3(10.1.3) on IBM AIX 5.3L ML 04 operating system by remote desktop using "Xmanager" software for GUI.
I choose advanced installation type "Integrated Web Server, J2EE Server and Process Management". Everything went smoothly, till The Configuration Assistants. The OPMN configuration Assistant failed.
I went ahead with completion of the installation. Later I tried

Unable to start oc4j in aix

installation was done on aix server.
jdk 1.6 was used with sr8
provide the doc if available for aix 10.1.3.4.1 (64 bit)
error :socket is already in use...mentioning the port no.
suggest on the same .

Unable to start weblogic with JRockit

i am using a 32 bit machine to start weblogic server on JRockit JVM. Doing this in order to have already installed Oracle SOA suite and when I start weblogic using JRockit it is Running out of memory. Tried the solutions given in the forum but not able to resolve this issue.
Also when using jdk getting permgen error. Tried with resetting the maxPermSize value etc in the startweblogic server but not able to do so.
For JRockit OOM has any one faced a similar issue?

Thanks Carlos. The value was getting overridden in startweblogic.cmd for Sun jdk but was not sufficient for my problem as I was using Jrockit and with JRockit there is no Permsize issue inturn there was OOM.
I followed these steps:
1. changed maxpermsize in startweblogic.
2. Tried increasing system swap space.
3. Used a profiler which controls JVM running, tried reduce memory leaks, but none worked.
I switched to JRockit for weblogic
1. tried increasing memory etc. Finally I switched to 64 bit machine as suggested in one of the forums for JRockit oom.
Now both jdk and JRockit weblogic with all SOA components working successfully.
