Unable to start OMS in Windows XP
I cloud not start the manage server service in Windows XP.
My environment:
Windows XP (Pack 1, Japanese Version);
Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP;
The error message in Windows log file are:
The service has terminated abnormally. See the file F:\oracle\ora92\sysman\log\oms.nohup for details.
The process termination failed for JRE. %2.

I solved this problem, by some guy's paper. I think that there so many guys may meet this problem, maybe you can try to check your IP address, if it uses DHCP, manage server could not start!
Please remember: Use fixed IP, not DHCP!!!!

After installing Oracle 9.2 I figure that oms is not currently running, because when I run the Enterprise Manager Console and try to login with sysman/oem_temp on
cp48842-a.mshome.net, I get "Unable to connect the management server".

Btw, in the above text NT is mentioned while I have XP, is that normal?
In C:\oracle\ora92\sysman\config, I did NOT have a file named "omsconfig.properties". I created it with the following text:
TRACING.ENABLED=TRUE
LOGGING.ENABLED=TRUE
TRACING.LEVEL=2
However, no log file is created.I just went through this installation - it is a totally seperate installation from the database...put your intall disc back in and look for the Management Server option (on mine it was the third installation type).
Then run the configuration assistant.
Then be sure to manually start the service in your service manager the first time and you should then be able to log in. The service has an obvious name... -
Unable to start Presentation Services- Windows 7
Hi,
I'm unable to start the Presentation Services , when i do so i am getting a message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
Windows 7 ultimate.
All services started like BI server, BI Presentation and Java Host
Installation were successful, able to open Repository.
BI Publisher is also getting started.
I need to look into the Answers, unable to start the Presentation Services, any help is very much appreciated !

Can you past it sawlog0.log message also Make sure below points (just double check and test it)
1) Check your instanceconfig.XML file (better if u have back up plz restore it then change it u r current catalog)
2) In the RPD, go to Manage -> Variables. Look through your initialization blocks and see if any are being used to set the USER variable.
3) make sure if have LDAP settup (external table via init blog)
4) if you can back of your RPD,Catalog restore it then try to access it (for testing) if its works then u r current issue catalog may be corrupted webcat
if your providing sawlog0.log ..it will be easy to find the issues

I can't start Oracle Management Server on a windows 2003 Server. (Oracle 9.2)
I used EMCA to create a repository for O.E.M.
I DID start the OEMREPService, the AgentService
When i try to start OMS, it seems to start, the progress bar achieved the 100%, then a popup indicates that the service started and stopped because it has nothing to do... ???

OMS was running fine until I restarted the machine, then it started giving error saying that could not connect the repositarty. I checked the log files and found that it is becasue of JDBC connection probelm and it is giving Network Adapter error. I found that is because of TNS listener not started I tried to start but after starting it automatically stoped saying it has nothing to do. Can any one tell me what exactly happening?

IPhone device unable to start (code 10) Windows XP
I just reformatted my hard drive and installed a clean copy of the most recent iTunes. I also updated XP through Windows update and have my USB 2.0 drivers installed. Everything else is running fine, including my other USB devices. My phone is recognized without issue on another computer too, so it's not the phone hardware.
I've disabled the windows firewall and apple services are started and running. I have not yet installed virus protection. USBAAPL.SYS is installed and being used as the phone driver, but there is still an exclamation point when it appears in device manager as an apple device, under USB. It makes three beeps, shows the exclamation point, and disappears within a minute or so.
I uninstalled the device using device manager and reinstalled it and it didn't help. I also reinstalled the driver using the windows driver utility, and chose the imaging device instead of the phone. It was able to view and copy images from the phone but the phone still did not appear in iTunes. I'm using iPhone software version 2.2.1, and the phone does not charge when connected although it's connected to a 2.0 USB port.
Any help would be appreciated, and I have already tried all of the basic troubleshooting recognition steps as listed in the iPhone windows recognition article, here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495
It's using the proper driver and recognized by the computer, but it gives me an error when I plug it in and under the driver details in device manager, it says unable to start device, error code 10. I'm also using the cord that came with the phone and there is no damage to it. It charges without issue from a wall outlet.Hope this helps someone.
Steps to Resolve:
1. Removing all usb drives and re installing them did not work for me, though it did for a lot of others over the internet. So, first step try that. If it does not work, follow rest of the steps.
2. Remove all external devices. Remove all usb drivers - Device Manager, under USB tree, uninstall all nodes.
3. Reboot system. New devices will be detected. Don't plug-in anything external.
4. Upgrade intel chipset by downloading the right version from this link http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=816&DwnldID=8178&lang =eng (if the link stops working, google for infinst_auto.exe)
5. Reboot (even if it seems not required)
6. Plug-in the external device
Summary of my machine state: Ubuntu host, XP guest on VirtualBox with iTunes 8, problem manifested after I upgraded to Jaunty.

Yes it was up before. I tried to undeploy the plugin and after that when I tried to deploy the plugin again, am getting this...
(1) My Listener is up and am able to connect to the DB
(2) I gave emctl oms stop -force but still its not working

Unable to start tomcat from Windows 98
I just downloaded and installed tomcat on my Windows 98 machine. But when I click on start Tomcat, a DOS window opens and closes imeediately - the server does not seem to have started. I tried pasting this in a new DOS Window:
D:\jdk1.2.2\bin\java.exe -jar -Duser.dir="D:\Tomcat" "D:\Tomcat\bin\bootstrap.jar" start
But then I get the following error:
Bootstrap: Class loader creation threw exception
java.lang.IllegalMonitorStateException: current thread not owner
I have jdk 1.2.2 installed on my machine and JAVA_HOME pointing to this. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

JayIt's not TOMCAT_HOME, it's CATALINA_HOME
Add
set CATALINA_HOME=full_path_to_tomcat_installation
to AUTOEXEC.bat, or type it at command line before typing startup in TOMCAT_HOME/bin (however if you do this you will lose this variable when you close the command line). Putting it in autoexec is best solution. Reboot.
Probably a good idea to add
set JAVA_HOME=full_path_to_java_installation
in autoexec.bat as well.

Unable to start EHPI on Windows
Hello All,
Good day.
We are currently configuring our SAP ERP 6.0 into Enhancement Package 4.
We're not able to start the EHPI using http://<localhost>:4239, it doesn't launh the EHPI gui.
I have used jce_policy-1_5_0.zip (note 1240081) since this is the first time we have used the EHPi.

I installed endeca-portal-2.2.2 on 64 bit windows server.
It is working fine if I manually start the portal's Tomcat instance.
But I am unable to start as a Windows Service.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.What version of the Apache tomcat zip did you extract the service.bat, tomcat6.exe and tomcat6w.exe? It looks like you are using the default java install, and the services is trying to start using the 64bit tomcat.exe.

Did you check The specified item was not found. for some solutions?
Can you start it by hand (not using the service)? If so check in the registry the service oracleDBconsole<your sid> of everything is ok.

Help. Windows 7: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002).
I just got a new computer. Windows 7. Toshiba. Intel 13-3110M Processor. 6GB DDR3 Memory. 1TB 5400rpm Hard Drive. Intel HD Graphics 4000. 2.40 GHz. 64-bit operating system.
I installed CS5 Creative Suite on it (which worked perfectly fine on my two previous computers--Windows 7 and Windows 8). Since then Photoshop and Illustrator have been giving me the same error message. "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application." The programs still open and remain open after pressing okay, but the message comes back every minute or so.
Then, with InDesign, the program won't open at all. It gives me the error message of "Cannot load the PDF.RPLN plug-in. It is dependent on the EPS PAGE ITEM.RPLN plug-in, which failed to load. Please check documentation for the EPS PAGE ITEM.RPLN plug-in." Then InDesign stops responding and closes itself.
I have to live with this computer for two more weeks (and then I go home and can use my old one again/return this current laptop), and I have schoolwork that counts on me being able to use these programs. If anybody could help me, I would be super grateful!
Oh, and I've already tried installing and uninstalling it.Without system information nobody can say anything. also check the logs in the Event Viewer.

I have a problem with Captivate 6 installation on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have 2 different scenarios where I tested but the result is same.
1- I used AMEE (Application Manager Enterprise 3.1) to create the installation Package to deploy through SCCM 2012.
Notice that the current package works fine on Windows7 (x86 & x64) but not on 2008 R2 due to an error after I try to launch Captivate.exe application.
The error states that there's a Missing file: libwinpthread-1.dll and if I copy and made a registration of this .DLL file then it sends another error saying: The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) so it never let me launch the application.
2- Now if I install the package directly from the Original sources(CD) without creating any AMEE package after completing the installation I still have the same error about the DLL missing file.
Is there any fix or workaround to install Captivate 6 on Win2008 R2 ?

In troubleshooting a different issue I uninstalled Firefox. After fixing the other issue I'm tying to re-install Firefox and am getting an error message that says "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application." The title bar of the window says "setup-stub.exe - Application Error." My PC is a Dell Studio 19 All-in-one running Windows 7 Home Premium.
When I look up that error on Microsoft's forums, I find suggestions ranging from an incompatible update/hotfix to malware...

So you can do:

Hi,
I have OBIEE 11g installed on a 32-bit windows machine. Of the two windows services installed, I am unable to start the Oracle Process Manager. When I try to start it I get the following error:
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
At the back end, this service is calling the file opmn.exe which is placed at MIDDLEWAREHOME\Oracle_BI1\opmn\bin. On trying to execute this file the error we get is:
The procedure entry point longjmp could not be located in the dynamic link library orauts.dll
I have tried replacing the orauts.dll file, but to no avail.
Please let me know if you have any clue regarding what is to be done.

This error occurs for the following reasons,
*Path variable is not set properly
*Multiple Oracle homes exists in the same machine.
Follow the below steps and let me know if it works,
1. Select My Computer -> Right Click -> Properties
2. In the System Properties screen go to Advanced Tab
3. Click on Environment Variables
4. In the System Variables section select PATH variable & Click edit
5. Now you will find that it will contain invalid directories. Remove the incorrect entries. This may happen when you have multiple oracle homes in the same machine
6. Restart the service.
