Unable to Start/Stop SBO Mailer and SBO Backup services
Hi All,
With reference to the thread of the following Link : SBO Backup and Messenging Service - Starting , We have a customer on SAP B1 8.8 PL 16 and we faced the same issue wherein after restarting the server, SBO Mailer and SBO Backup services show status as starting and all buttons are greyed out.
As per the thread we did re-install the server tools and it worked fine. But when we restart the server again the same issue arises.
Kindly reply back at the earliest...

please try the following:
Exit the Service Manager.
On the Server got to Start- > and locate the Icon of the Service Manager -> click right and "Use as Administrator.
After this open the Service Manager and take a look if you could activate the SBO Mailer and SBO Backup.

Please check if you have started the Oracle BI Java host service.
Check if the OC4j is started.
Check the event viewer logs. Also check on what account the service is starting.

Recently, Thunderbird stopped sending mail and moving messages between folders, junk messages stopped being moved.
Further notes (different user, same problem):
* This is a problem that started in Thunderbird 32
* This involves both automatic (filter) moves and manual moves
* This includes use of keys and hotkeys (the delete key, for example)
* Restarting Thunderbird does seem to "reset" the problem... for a while. I notice the problem most when either I've been away from the computer/program for a while or when waking a laptop computer from a sleep or hibernation state. -

I take over our form RFID admin (who quit) position.
I cannot find any document which tells me How to start/stop Event Mgr. and RFID information server.
Even the "Sun Java System RFID Software 3.0 Administration Guide" does not have this piece of info.

I keep getting a spinning color wheel when I start safari or mail and it holds up my iMac for several minutes. At times I need to do a hard reset as it freezes e everything ... I'm stumped! Software is up to date ... Help!

OK ... so I just restarted and opened Safari first ... no spinning ball. And I opened mail after hitting the rebuild, well, I'm missing messages from Dec. 24 - now, but it opened right away. Most messages are FB feeds, so it's not like I've lost anything important. So, initial thoughts ... John was a tremendous help, BUT, we shall see what happens when I try to open mail again ... and I'll try it first with the next restart or wake up ... so appreiciate the walk-thru on all of this! -
Using opmn to start/stop hub repo and adapters

A Metalink note kindly informed me that I could use OPMN to start and stop Interconnect hub and adapter processes. The hyperlink sent me to the OPMN documentation and that's where the fun started!

Once I added the working-dir attribute to the process-type tag, things began to fall into place. working-dir is set to the directory location of the repository start script and I repeated the same for the crmapps adapter. My biggest clue came when I added the crmapps adapter to the opmn.xml and when I tried to start it, the log file indicated that it couldn't find the adapter.ini file. The rest came naturally after that breakthrough.
It needs a bit of rejigging but so far, results are good.

Unable to start/stop Personal Web Sharing
I do some web development, so I tried making the necessary changes to run PHP files via localhost. I followed various online articles by making some changes to the httpd.conf file, and then downloading MySQL and a later version of PHP (5.0). Since installing yesterday afternoon, I've been unable to start or stop Personal Web Sharing. Any ideas?

NathanAre you sure you got the proper version of each for your platform? Depending on which version you dowloaded it may not have been a universal bianary and you might be running ppc instead of x86 or vice versa. I wouldnt expect you to have broken apache if you made only the modifications you noted in your inital post - but perhaps if it was trying to load the php module and it was the worng platform it might through that error and prevent it fromt starting.. but normally whn php fails it jsut throws a warning and continues without it loaded (at least with Marc's automatic configuration). But thats the only thing i can think of.
So next steps:
1.) Verify you are running the x86/PPC (or Universal) versions of PHP and MySQL (MySQL shouldnt really matter but since its one of the majorchanges before apache broke we'll look at it as well).
2.) on the command line run this command and post the output back here:

3.) lets restore your old config:

Unable to Start/Stop Directory server from console
We have two Directory Server 5.2 installations with both running as masters with replication between them. One of them was installed with the admin server and the other without. On the one that was installed without the admin server we added it afterwards.
We now find that on the one that had the admin server installed after the directory server that we cannot start/stop the directory server from the server console nor can we view or access backups or logs from the console. The system does however create the log and backup files and we can start/stop it from the command line.
I read in a post somewhere that the admin server can be created with a different user from the directory server or with the same username but a different domain and wondered if that was the problem but have looked through the configuration files on both machines and haven't managed to spot a discrepancy.
Does anyone have any ideas where and what to check?

PeterAh, I wouldn't have recognized this scenario if you didn't report the scrozzled user name. The "access denied" error happens for the simple reason that 'IAyjcJlYKL' is not a valid user in your domain. Fancy that. If you look in your config.xml for the "node-manager-username" element, you may find the value is encrypted, and probably is 'IAyjcJlYKL'.
It might be best if you filed a support case for this. I can make some guesses about what you should do, but it's just a guess. In any case, if you try fixing something, make a backup of the file first.
The two things you can try doing are (backup the files and shut down everything first):
* Edit the nm_password.properties file, replacing the one "hashed" line with two lines, setting the "username" property and the "password" property, both in cleartext. When the nodemanager starts up, it will replace those two lines with the "hashed" value.
* Edit the config.xml file, replacing the values in the "node-manager-username" and "node-manager-password-encrypted" elements with their cleartext versions.
Then start up the nodemanager and server.
I'm familiar with this because I saw this happen, and I'm trying to remember the strange thing we had to do. I worked this out with BEA support a while ago. If it helps, my case number was #796710. -
"Unable to start application" on Handset and Simulator

i'm having some problems getting any flash lite content to
run. i get a message that reads "unable to start application"
whenever i launch my apps on the handset and in the simulator.
i installed flash pro 8 (trial) on my system, installed the
flash lite 2 update, installed the flash lite 2.1 post processor
plug in and publish the files fine. i went to qualcomm's
developer's extranet and downloaded the flash lite 2.1 for brew
devices module. i also loaded the flashlitemod module and the
brewsaplayer module.
i even tried running the included example from the qualcomm
extranet (called "usingbrewsaplayer"). anybody else experience this
or know what could possibly be wrong? any help would be
appreciated!
thanksYou need to install the BREW SDK 3.1.x first, restart your
system and then install the FL publisher for BREW. During the
install process for the FL publisher for BREW it will check to see
if you have the BREW SDK 3.1.x installed - if it does then it will
copy over the necessary DLL files to allow you to preview your FL
apps (MOD/MIF) in the BREW simulator.
So uninstall the FL publisher for BREW, restart your system.
reinstall the FL publisher for BREW, restart and then test your
MOD/MIF files in the simulator.
For example if your app is called "ball" and the FL publisher
for BREW published the DLL, MOD and MIF files you will need to do
the following:
1) copy the "ball.mif" file to C:\Program Files\BREW
3.1.4\sdk\examples
2) create a folder called "ball" here C:\Program Files\BREW
3.1.4\sdk\examples, so you should have "C:\Program Files\BREW
3.1.4\sdk\examples\ball"
3) copy the "ball.dll" file to C:\Program Files\BREW
3.1.4\sdk\examples\ball
Launch the BREW simulator and you should see your application
as a broken icon show up in the menu structure and the applet name
you defined will appear as well. If you select the app (press OK
button on phone) your app should work in the simulator.

Some mail accounts stopped getting mail and POP access is down
I think my head is spinning so fast trying to deal with this issue I can't see straight any longer. Here's the deal...
Symptom: Mail is received by 2 users out of 6. They all used to get mail but the 3 newest ones stopped getting mail.
At one point I thought it was some sort of spam filter because it looked like it would not get mail from a particular domain (@my.simulscribe.com). I looked around and couldn't find anything that could be blocking it though. We do have a Barracuda Spam firewall but nothing in there looks like it even deals with this server at all. I could be wrong or looking in the wrong place.
*What I've tried* : I went through the setup once again and looked for anything out of place. Of course I didn't identify anything but I'm not going to pretend to be an expert either.
I've become very confused by the server names, alias, etc. I can no longer determine what's what or what's wrong. One account does still gets and sends mail but only when using the internal IP address. POP isn't working (used to).
*What hasn't worked:* Well of course everything i've tried hasn't worked. The list is long and it includes burning sage and an exorcism.
So here's the bottom line. I need to get mail working to the accounts:

Try a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and see if the notebook will start.

Mail stops receiving mail and then won't quit
Since I upgraded to Leopard I have been force quitting Mail. It seems to be associated with .Mac. I open up the activities window and there is always some e-mail stuck receiving in there. When this happens, no more mail is received and the application won't quit. I notice that it also happens if I go to sleep or I switch users.
I have disabled all rules.
I have emptied all mailboxes.
I turned off growl notifications.
I have enough space on .Mac.
I have extended the check mail time.
Honestly, it is pretty annoying. Anyone having this issue?do you have any other plugin or input manager or transfer of data from Mail to something else running with mail by any chance?
If yes, then you may want to disable and try again.
If no, then have you tried deleting and re-creating your .mac account and see if you still have the same issue?
If that does not solve it, have you tried logging in with a different user account onto your computer, and then setting up your .mac account in Mail and trying to send. If you get the same issues then it may hint at app/system related issues, if you send/receive without an issue then it might be a user specific issue.
If user specific issue I would repair permissions - applications>utilities>disk utility and repair permissions.
