Unable to startup in any mode - HELP!!
Had continuous reboot issue. Tried all the usual methods to get to hard drive (recovery disk, disk utility, restore from backup, download OSX Mavericks, safe mode). All failed (reboot at some time during the process or showed the drive could not be repaired). I found my original Lion disk. I inserted it and lo and behold I got to Recovery HD. Disk utility rvealed that the HD was fine. I restored from backup successfully. Now my system just continues to reboot. I heard three beep sometimes. Had a bad memory issue. Removed bad memory. Continuous reboot continue but no more 3 beeps. I tried to use the Lion disk again, but it reboots before it can fully take hold. How can I get my system up and running again?
I suspect the HD is not fine, because there may be the possiblity of multiple problems take the machien into your local Apple Store or AASP to be professionaly diagnosed.

I am at my wits end with mt BT Infinity issue. Thsi has now been ongoing since late October/Early November.
I did have BT Ifinity 2 and this was working perfectly well for 18 months, up until Oct/Nov 2014. We are now i Feb 2015 and my line is still dropping about 8-10 times a day. Every time i come home from work i check the Home Hub manager for connection time and i never see more than 4 hours connection time.
Over the weekend when everyone is in the house using the www, we can see the drops as we all lose connection, HH5 light goes orange for about 3 mins then re-connects.
I was told that i would never achieve more than 25Mbs so i was wasting my money paying for Infinity 2 , yet it was a BT Salesman who sold me Infinity 2, so i reduced to Infinity 1.
My complaint is not the speed (22 down, 5 up), but the constant drops. I have had 3 openreach engineers who have said i have too many faults on the line so the line resets itself hence the drops, but no matter who jiggery pokery then twiddle with the issue does not go away and the line drops.
I have spent countless housr on the phone to level 2 and all they keep saying is the line is desgined to drop....Nonsense!
So today BT wrapped their hands in and Said to me that there is nothing more they can do and advise me to go back to copper..(3 down and 1 up!!)
i have said i will cancel my contract as BT is failing to provide me with a service that i pay for. BT CS say i have to pay to get out of my contract!!
I have heard that some Mods on here are very good at problem solving and advising my next course of action. I don't want to go back to copper, i just want a service like i had for the first 18 months of Infinity?
PLEASE HELP ME before i rip sombodies throat out!!

Seems this is a big issue and BT anr generally throwing their arms in the air and saying "we don't know" like they did with me today.
However reading into a few of these hits/blogs/forum post, it seems a fix is a Lift and Shift of you line to another board in the BT Exchange?
Do you know how i can get BT to try this for me? As you can see from my very short log file i get a disconnected about every 90 mins. Which if i am streaming or downloading is bad but not catestrophic however to get a disconnection when transfering files via VPN can be very bad.
In need a fix and i am desperate, so anyone know how i can get BT to do a lift and shift for me???

Yosemite install won't boot into any mode
Really sorry if this has been covered before but I spent a good time searching and couldn't find any existing posts with symptoms to the same extent.
I've got a 2008 iMac 27" and have the latest version of Yosemite installed (10.10.1 I guess). I upgraded to Yosemite probably 2-3 weeks ago and everything has been fine. Then yesterday when I woke it up from sleep it effectively froze - no mouse or keyboard input. So I did a reset by holding down the power button, and when I turned it back on it went to the apple logo boot screen with a progress bar that gets to just below 50% and stuck there. I've restarted quite a few times and left it running up to six hours and still it doesn't boot.
Now this is similar to the issue here - OSX Yosemite won't boot after install on mid 2010 iMac - except I am unable to boot into any mode, and the only startup keys accepted are the P-RAM reset. It won't boot into recovery mode (command+R), safe mode (Shift), startup drive select mode (Option), diagnostics mode (D)... nothing
I've booked into a Genius Bar appointment when the Apple stores reopen after Christmas, but I'm hoping that is a last resort and to be honest I'm unsure what they can do for me except to say it's a lost cause.
Are there any suggestions on what could be happening and why it's ignoring the startup modes? I would have suggested the keyboard not being recognised except the P-RAM command works perfectly, so it's obviously seeing it. I'm a little scared that because it won't let me into a boot device menu (which must operate independent of any HDD) then there's an issue ahead of that in the boot sequence, so possibly the motherboard is shot...
Sorry if I seem a little desperate. I had a HDD crash two years ago to the day (great Christmas present Apple) and it kind of puts a dampener on things.

If you can find any USB wired mouse to use, to test and attempt a repair, or software reset of the MacBook, that would be very helpful; you could also check Console log entries (utility folder is Console's home) to see if there are any indications of other problems.
With a mouse (even windows mouse) you should be able to access the System preference panel and also the keyboard viewer to see what is happening with the keyboard and mouse. You can click on keys in the keyboard viewer to test a mouse click or touch pad click; and also choose to ignore touchpad input while using a mouse, and other things.
The touchpad may appear as a USB device, so System Profiler should show some evidence of that attached. If the touchpad has failed, depending on the exact build series MacBook, the repair options go from bad to worse. A few require the top part with keyboard replaced, as one piece, if yours happens to have that build. There are sources of tested good yet used parts, for less than any old-stock or replacement new parts, if it comes to that.
An iFixit guide for that MacBook model identifier number may be helpful. Be sure to use the correct one for reference; they have an identify page at iFixit, there's also one at Apple where you'd put in a serial or model number (or sales model, or EMC, etc) and more info appears. The 'About this Mac' in the computer can help find what your computer is, by build, serial number, and that info helps online to learn more, or get parts.

Hopefully you can get access to a USB mouse to help troubleshoot, check or change settings, to do an SMC reset, or see if the NVRAM & PRAM reset may startle the MacBook into playing nice again.

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that. -

Did you already reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

Are you using the Word Report Generation instrument? You can find it in toolslib\activex\word\wordreport.fp under the CVI directory.
The instrument comes with a sample project that shows how to include table and graphs in a Word document: see samples\activex\word\wordrpt.cws in the samples foder of your CVI installation.

I rubbed the iTunes gift card back off, I was unable to read the serial number as part of it came off, can any one help.

90+% of the phones sold on ebay are hacked or jailbroken. The symptom you describe is typical of a hacked or jailbroken phone that was updated or restored. It has either been re-locked to the original carrier, or the damage done by the hack is now preventing it from activating at all.
It may or may not be fixable, but you can not get help with it here. There is a good chance it will never be able to activate.
There is a very slim possibility that the activation servers are simply overloaded by all the new iPhones given as Christmas gifts, but my money is on a hacked, now bricked phone. -
