Unable to stop gatekeeper

We have Discoverer 4.1.47.19 on Solaris Sparc 8 64 bits.
We are working ok with discoverer,but when we need to stop discoverer, after running stopall.sh(./stopoad.sh ./stoposagent.sh ./stoplocator.sh ./stopgatekeeper.sh) the gatekeeper continue alive...
The root user cannot kill the gatekeeper process (kill -9 pid).

The way to kill the process and restart the discoverer/gatekeeper are rebooting the box.

This is an expected error -- Please see (Error When Trying To Start Discoverer (Addisctl.Sh) [ID 854976.1]) for details.
So, you either need to upgrade Discoverer to 10g/11g as per these docs.
Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i [ID 313418.1]
Using Discoverer 11.1.1 with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i [ID 1073963.1]
Or, exclude the discoverer script from the startup scripts if you do not use discoverer as per (After Cloning Discoverer Is Not Staring Automatically By Addisctl.Sh. [ID 371920.1]).

Unable to open service BOE120 TOMCAT and Unable to STOP severs in CCM

Hi Everyone,
i have installed business object Edge series 3.0 in windows 2008 server standard edition. I also installed crystal 2008, xcelsius engage 2008 , live office, SAP GUI 7.10. I did not installed SAP Integration yet. The installation has done in 'D-drive' instead of 'C-drive'. The installation has been done successfully for above products.
Now i am facing two problems.
In CCM, both TOMCAT and SIA are in running state.
1. when i try to open tomcat configuration, i am getting an error as below
' Unable to open service BOE120 TOMCAT'
2. In CCM, when try to stop the TOMCAT or SIA, system showing an error
'Unable to stop the service, Access Denied'.
But when i go to windows services, there i can able to stop tomcat.
What could be the reasons for above error? Wait for your reply.

IPhoto froze while importing photos from iPhone to Mac, unable to stop import

My iPhoto on my Mac Book Pro (Retina, 13-inch, 2.4 GHz intel core i5, 8GM memory 1600 Mhz DDR3, in the OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1) froze while I was importing pictures from my iPhone 6. I am unable to 'Stop Import', as when I press to stop the import my Mac does not respond. There is a continuous loading sign next to my iPhone device. I am still able to use other features of my Mac and iPhoto, only the import page is not responsive.

Unable to stop Windows Server Backup

WSE2012. Backup regularly hangs while trying to back up one of our server disks to an external usb drive. Both source and destination drives check out ok - no fragmentation, disk errors, plenty of free space. Tried to Stop the backup gracefully
via the UI by right-mouse clicking the server listed in Dashboard>Devices tab and choosing Stop backup... but this is unable to stop it.
Tried to stop the block level backup engine service exe (wbengine.exe) but it appears to be orphaned and unkillable.
Task Manager shows wbengine.exe is running, so I've tried doing these things from an elevated command prompt:
1. wbadmin stop job -- this returns The process could not be terminated. There is no running instance of the task.
2. TASKKILL /F /IM wbengine.exe - same error message as above.
Short of rebooting the machine or unplugging the usb drive (which sometimes works but leads to data corruption), how can the backup be stopped and restarted?

Thank you but no such luck. We're running Windows Server 2012 Essentials and we don't have 3rd-party software running on the server except for BackupAssist. We started with wbadmin, have moved to trying BackupAssist (BA), now am working with
their support team. Latest suggestion is to go back to native Windows Server Backup. But I have seen this issue before we installed BA. I will wait until we duplicate the problem there before responding here again, but my best solution is
to either unplug the backup drive (forcing a cancellation) or reboot the server. This has really got us baffled.

Unable to stop the alarm in Nokia 5233

I am using Nokia 5233 for past 3 months. I am facing a problem while using the Alarm.
When the alarm generated, i am unable to stop it. When i pressed the close button its going into SNOOZE mode but not into stop mode.
This is happening when my mobiles is locked.

Make sure that it did not end up being added as a the Keynote Soundtrack +(Documents>Audio Tab)+. If it is the soundtrack, it will play throughout the Keynote, if it is just added to a slide, it should stop when you change slides.

To add on to what sabertooth04 stated, here is a link to a document that addresses print apps for your model of printer. Click on the drop down titled "Managing Scheduled Delivery Print Apps" and the option to cancel or remove an app will be available for you to click on and review the steps to remove that app . Unable to stop the event logs on access point console

I have an AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 access point having ios c1130-k9w8-mx.124-21a.JHB1.
When I am trying to take the console of it there are many logs generated like LWAPP ...Go join the controller, Discover controller etc. and the ap is unable to register to the controller(2112 with ios version 6.0.199.4). I'm trying to enter the command but there are many event msg generated....How do i stop this event log. I tried entering the command no debug all. but still there are many logs...
I want to enter the the following commands
#lwapp ap ip address <ip addr>.
#lwapp a pip default-gateway <gateway ip addr>
#lwapp ap controller ip addr <controller ip>

Now the access point got registered to the controller..This happened becuse of country Code..
I have changed the country code to UK, Belgium it started working fine.
Initially when it was IN the access point was not getting register..
But now the problem which arised is that the user is unable to get authenticated to the radius server.
Radius server is reachable and we have done every changes required for radius server authentication.
Users are getting rejected.
Customer is saying that the radius server is in IN domain and the WLC/access point is in UK,BE and hence the users are unable to connect..
Is it so??

HT201303 Has anyone experienced being a victim of GNU Emacs Api Emulations hacking thru URL's - Feeds - Email - Redirect - Data Scrabling and more? We are unable to stop them because they are super users. They come back and do more damage. Help Please.

We have been compromised within our businesses from an empolyee that was terminated with GNU Emac Api enulation program that has infiltrated all of our brand new Apple Computers. We made a decision to move to Mac's this year because of all our businesses being internet based and we are in several different platforms that require many different passcodes, email address, bank accounts, etc. It is not one seamless system that would address one email, password, bank account, etc.
Eacy time we change one segment of our business unit to move to the next one to fix, we go back to check the previous one that we changed and they have already been in the accounts and changed them so that we have to redo them.
The information is so broad and wide that the only way I know to ask this first questions - has anyone had this happen to them? We have seeked many avenues with law, experts, reformating our 2 momth old systems 2-3 times each and start over. They are the super users of this program and we can not get them out by changing passwords, accounts, etc. They have everything we do and make sure they keep changing it as we work on the next segment. They have cost our small business thousands of dollars already.
I am a victim of something that even the local forenic authority is stumped because they don't know where to start. We are not a banking instutition or 100 million dollar company to get the help we need. We don't want to find hackers like they have done to us, we want to get them stopped and get us back on track to start getting our businesses rebuilt.
Lots of stuff, but WE ARE BEGGING for HELP.
Apple Support today spent 3 hours with us on the phone and our suppot representative was awesome, but they also said it was big and we need to reach out to the Apple community to see if they heard of anything like this crime. They are in the URL's, RSS Feeds and ghosting everything we do.
I was told by our local Mac support that this was done by someone that was highly sophicated and they did not know many people that could do this type of damage. I can't image that someone in the Apple community would not know of someone that can assist. The one security company we contacted was around $25,000 to fix this aweful crime.
We just want them stopped and put in jail so we can go back to business before it destoys us completely. They even installed emacs on all of our Iphone and androids. WE are being taped, video recorded and eery key stroke is recored. They are only taking us down in middle America.

Unable to stop/start SIA Agent - BOBJ XI 3.1 on RedHat Linux

We have the BOBJXI 3.1 installed on the Red Hat Linux Machines(Custom Installation across Two Red Hat Linux Servers).
Node 1 - Linux BOX 1 - Tomcat and all the BOBJ Services except CMS
Node 2 - Linux BOX 2 - MySql and CMS
Problem Description :
We have two instances of the CMS running on the Linux BOX2.
I have assigned the port 6401 to the CMS2 through CMC,The CMS1 is running with deafult port 6400.
CMS is stopped thorugh the CMC.
Through the command line ccm.sh tool on the Linux BOX2,We tried to stop the CMS.
        ./ccm.sh -stop all or sia agent .The Script is not doing anything .
Unable at start/enable the servers on Node2-Linux BOX 2
        ./ccm.sh - start all
        Message on the Command Prompt:
        Starting all the servers...
        Failed to Register Name Server:Reason:A Server of this name already exists( STU00188)
        ./ccm.sh - enable all
        Creating Session Manager
        Logging into CMS
        err: ERROR could not logon to CMS ( STU00152).
        err: ERROR Description:The System ..can be contacted but their is no CMS running at port 6401.

This looks like an issue with your pid file which is created whent he server starts and should be deleted but may not have been.
Look in <bobj home>/serverpids directory for the pid file that relates to the server process. If you find that file, delete it.
What I think is happening is the system is checking to see if the pid file exists which should tell it if the server is there. The pid is there so it says it can't start. But the actual program isn't there so when you try to use it, it says it's not up.

Unable to stop browser streaming to the server

I am having a problem when using apache fileupload framwork. However I don't think it has to do with this framwork. It's more general upload issue.
When I upload a file I do the check for its size. I am streaming the request from the browser. If the file gets to large I stop the streaming by closing the streams including the ServletInputStream. Still the browser streams to the server. While my response is ready to be returned to the browser. And is returned when the stream is ready. I think you need to stop the SocketInputStream somehow. I am trying to find out on how to do this. Any suggestions are welcome.
By the way if close the browser early I get java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
I am using Websphere Portal. But any example with other server in portlet or non portlet context are okay too.
Does anyone know a solution to stop the portal from reading the request? In other words stopping the browser from streaming to the server?

How to stop gatekeeper from repeatedly asking to open vlc

i downloaded and installed vlc. now, overtime i open it, gatekeeper keeps on asking me to either open it or not. HOW DO I STOP THIS?

Gatekeeper doesn't ask if you want to Open an app, just if you want to install it. If it is asking if you are sure you want to open this program downloaded from the Internet, that is the Quarantine system.
About the "Are you sure you want to open it?" alert (File Quarantine / Known Malware Detection) in OS X - Apple Support
I think there is a database that updates the quarantined items as I have quite a few with the Quarantine extended attribute, but they don't complain.
You can try removing the attribute and see what happens. Copy and paste this into Terminal. If you don't have VLC in your Applications folder, then let me know where it is as this won't work if you've put it somewhere else:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/VLC.app/

Unable to stop images from auto toning in lightroom 4

lightroom automatically auto tones images after importing them even when told not to do so in the preferences.

I have made sure everything is unchecked.

to sum up my problem. when I synchronize a folder it imports the images, which then starts auto toning the thumbnails and if i click on image its looks awful. so its not just the thumbnails its the image also
this is really frustrating for me because I shoot in HDR, meaning I bracket my shots from -3 to +3, 1 stop for each image. so what i expect is each each to go from dark to light but instead lightroom tones them automatically making each image near identical.
its like lightroom thinks theres a problem and tries to balance each picture so instead of going from dark to light now all 5 bracketed shots look near identical because it has toned them.
i dont know why it does this.
i have uninstalled light room.
deleted every folder, cache in my app data and anything related to adobe lightroom. rebooted.
reinstalled.
Edit> preferences> presets

then i import a folder and again it starts auto toning them.
my work around is to select all images> right click develop settings>reset
and now they look normal.
so i have to do this each time, basically adding another step.
the frustration grows because I suffer from ADD and some times I forget to reset the images after an import. grrr
anotyher huge problem is I export images.
when ever I have finalized the image and deem its ready for the internets I export it to a subfolder as a jpeg at 100% size and quality.
then I synchronize the folder and it imports those new jpeg pictures
and guess what it does, it auto tones them,
argghhhh
this is driving me nuts.
all i want it lightroom to NOT auto tone anything after an import.
i want my pictures and thumbnails to look exactly how they look.
to be specific. after I import i can see all my thumbnails, they looks fine. i can see my bracket shots from dark to light as they should but a few seconds later i start to notice lightroom is auto toning each thumbnail one by one. its not instant it takes a a sec or so to do each thumbnail.
I wish to prevent that...how?

If you haven’t already, I’d delete your LR4 preferences file, in case it is corrupt. On my 32-bit windows system, the LR4 preferences file is in the following folder:
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences
and is called:
Lightroom 4 Preferences.agprefs
Exit LR4, and delete this file, then restart LR4, and try importing a new, never-been-seen image file.
