Unable to submit crash reports

I have just installed FF15.0.1 and have had numerous abrupt closures for no apparent reasons. I select in Tools - Advanced the ' submit crash reports' option and select OK, but when I go back the option is unselected, so, of course, none of my crashes are being reported. Any help would be appreciated.

You can check this registry key with the registry editor and change the value to 1
*HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reporter\SubmitCrashReport: DWORD value = 0/1

To try and resubmit a pending report (for example if you lost your internet connection):
#Go to about:crashes in the location bar
#Click the latest report link to resubmit it
If there isn't a pending crash report listed, I'm afraid you may be out of luck for that crash report.

  • Unable to Disable 'Submit Crash Reports'

Under Option > Advanced I am unable to uncheck "Submit Crash Reports". Every time I uncheck it rechecks itself.
I tried launch Firefox as a administrator and unchecking it, but it doesn't stick.
Does anyone know if there's a .ini file or registry entry that I can change manually?

Good point on incremental updates I added a Environmental User Variable instead, as per info listed here:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad
    and here:
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Environment_variables_affecting_crash_reporting
But does that disable the plugin crash reporter too? Or only the crash reporter for when the entire app crashes?
Because what I'm reading the one in Options>Advanced is for plugin crashes.

  • Submit Crash Report option not working in FireFox 7

I am unable to save Submit Crash Reports under Options > Advanced > System Defaults. I am using FireFox 7 and all my plugins are updated.
Again on clicking Get Add-Ons under Options > General > Manage Add-Ons, my FF 7 crashes with no report going to Mozilla as Submit Crash Reports option does not work.
Otherwise my FireFox works fine having resolved by myself earlier crashes posted here on September 24, 2011 on clicking Manage Add-Ons and visiting Yahoo Mail.

I have had this same problem (cannot save "Submit Crash Report" option) since 26 Jun in previous Mac versions. I have tried to submit a Capture Data to Mac tech support (including screen prints) but have been told the tech I was working with is no longer in tech support, and to please do not submit Capture Data.
I don't know how long this has been problem in Mac version, but I only noticed it around 26 June.
Options in my Firefox Tools menu are also missing (I can't remember which ones right now)

  • I'm unable to send crash reports to Apple.  Message says "Submission failed Please try again later"  This has been happening for about 3 weeks.

I'm unable to send crash reports to Apple.
Message says "Submission failed Please try again later"
This has been happening for about 3 weeks.
How do I send crash reports?

If you're actually using Mac OS X v10.5.8, as your profile says, you're wasting your time trying to submit crash reports to Apple.

  • Why does the checkmark for "Submit crash reports" in System Defaults always reappear after I remove it?

I keep trying to remove this check, but it always come back on its own.

Thank you for the reply, but none of those suggestions apply/or work. This is only a single preference that's not being saved. There is not a user.js file, but a prefs.js file and there is not an entry for crash reports on/off in it. These seems like a bug in Firefox, as the checkbox for the "Submit crash report" toggles back on the instant the dialog is closed, then reopened. In other words, just this one option is not saved. Any other options are saved when changed.

I went back to 09/10 latest-trunk to post this. I have not added any extensions or addons. But after the crashes updated flash to the latest version.

  • Bad HELP: "submit crash report" no longer an option (3.6.6 linux)

the edit/preferences/generl panel does not contain an option: submit crash reports. HELP screens say it is present "above 3.4.4". False.

You have the Ubuntu build of Firefox which has crash reporting disabled. The official Mozilla build from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ does have crash reporting (however it doesn't integrate with your operating system as well).

  • Not able to disable submit crash report since the box gets checked automatically.

I uncheck the box of'' submit crash reports'' and click OK. When I check it (Tools - Options), the box is checked again automatically.

Problem fixed -- found info in another thread. Needed to clear the print cache.

  • Firefox repeatedly says "NOT RESPONDING"...I go into Tools, Options, UNCHECK Submit Crash Reports, but it ALWAYS appears CHECKED...WHAT GIVES???

It doesn't usually CRASH completely, but repeatedly says NOT RESPONDING!!!...why doesn't the dam SUBMIT CRASH REPORT stay UNCHECKED when I repeatedly REMOVE it???

Things have taken a turn for the worse! My system won't even boot up at now. I just get a grey screen with the apple logo. If I try restarting with the option key, it beeps and the fans whirl. I phoned an Apple servicer and they said sounds like a new hard disc is needed.
Can you not even start up from your Tiger Install DVD? If so, try running Disk Utilities from the Utilities menu, click on "First Aid", select your boot volume, and then "Repair Disk" If it fixes anything, run it again until it says "The volume … appears to be OK".
Note you should not use your 10.3 Install disk to fix a 10.4 system.
Alternatively, if you can boot into Single User Mode, you could us fsck to attempt a repair of your disk:
Using Disk Utility and fsck to resolve startup issues or perform disk maintenance.
I can't believe my misfortune just from upgrading a couple of softwares, especially after I tried so hard to avoid having to upgrade, and then did my due diligence to unsure compatibility. DO I have any recourse to either of the resellers of the upgrades?
I doubt it (but of course I don't know any US lawyers )

  • Tools/Options/Submit crash reports always is selected. Why?

    1. run mozilla
    2. select tools
    3. select options
    4. select advanced
    5. uncheck check box "Submit crash reports"
    6. select button "OK"

Since I installed Firefox yesterday, I have encountered several instances of what are obviously annoying _bugs_ of this sort. The answer ALWAYS seems to be "There's an Add-On for that!" - when there is even an answer at all.
In my opinion, any browser which is so apparently laden with bugs and is so dysfunctional "out of the box" is simply not ready for prime time...
With all of its flaws, Internet Explorer never seemed so outright *cheesy*, and I'm beginning to wonder just what all the hype from Firefox Fanboys/grrls is all about.
I'm about *THIS* close to uninstalling this farcical attempt at a browser and just putting up with IE's problems. The devil I know is at least professional; this clownware seems to have missed that basic point.

  • Firefox keeps crashing apon startup and unable to send crash report

Last night I was browsing the web and ended up having 300+ tabs opened, FIrefox started to slow tremendously and stopped responding a couple of times. Was given the option to close Firefox from the popup window and choose to close Firefox, unfortunately when I tried to open Firefox again it crashed and gave me the crash reporter and when I tried to submit the report the report it encountered a problem and is unable to send the report. I've run Firefox in safe mode and is working fine but when I try to restart with add-ons disabled its still crashes and unable to send report.

Try to start Firefox with the about:blank page by creating a copy of the current Firefox desktop shortcut and add a space and <b>-url "about:blank"</b> to the target field.
Try to delete the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder to prevent restoring the crashed session.

  • Crash after logging in, how to submit crash report?

A little while ago, I tried to login in to my laptop.  As my account was coming up (desktop picture, desktop icons, a few apps, some of the extensions in the upper right, etc) the screen went blue and I was returned to the login window.  According to my neice this had been happening all day with her account as well.
I restarted the machine and since then all has been well.  I can see the crash reports in Console.  So I kind of have two questions:  One, what caused the problem?  Two, how do I submit a crash report to Apple?  It does appear to be an OS crash, as the crashed thread is running WindowServer code in Apple GeForce driver.
    Thanks
    Chris

If you want to report this issue to Apple's engineering, send a bug report or an enhancement request via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Mac Developer Program—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. You'll get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

  • Firefox crashes as soon as I open it--I cannot even submit a crash report

Firefox crashes as soon as I open it. As far as I know, I haven't been able to submit crash report. I was playing Farmville when it crashed, about a month or two ago, and did submit a crash report then, all this in suppost has been no help, since I can't get Firefox to open in first place. I can only use IE now, so cannot go to about crashes in location bar.

    Hi Deborah,
I would recommend trying to start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] - if that works, something within FF (extension of some kind) is probably the cause.
Please let us know how above works out, and if we can be of further assistance. Detailed feedback is appreciated and helps us to help you better, plus enables us to better help other users with similar issues.
