Unable to subscribe to or use podcasts?

I am a long time itunes user and was wanting to use podcasts, however it appears that itunes does not want to let me. I am unable to click on and download any in itunes and the podcasts icon does not show up in my library. I went to preferences and tried to show podcasts in my library, but I am unable to (it is greyed out) I also cannot click in Advanced -> Subscribe to podcasts as this is greyed out too. Any tips?

I had this same problem. It seems that my Parental controls had Podcasts checked to be disabled. By clicking this I was able to download and subscribe to Podcasts again. Not sure what happened.
I went to Preferences>Parental>Uncheck the box next to Podcast (having this box checked causes it to be disabled).

i dunno. If you are home, and the computer is home - why not just plug it in? I tried the wifi syncing when it first came out, and there is so much data flying back and forth - a momentary loss or hiccup in the wifi signal scews up the sync. To me, just not worth the effort.
System updates, on the other hand seem to work fine . That is a one way data transmission with checks and resends as needed - more or less just a large download.

Unable to subscribe to podcasts

I'm trying to subscribe to Oprah's/Tolle's podcast. I can get to the podcast, but the 'subscribe' box is faded, and doesn't do anything when I click on it. I'm able to buy all the songs, books, etc that I want, but I'm unable to subscribe to any podcasts.
I checked to see that I have the most recent version of iTunes, and I've ran the system diagnostic (which came back fine). I'm able to download/purchase everything except podcasts. Any ideas?

I am having the same issue too! I was able to do it on another computer, but I can't seem to do it on the computer to which my ipod touch is linked with. It's driving me nuts. I have the latest verision of itunes, and I dont' know what else to do!! Help!

Help. I am unable to subscribe to my podcast...weird message from iTunes saying that The item I requested is currently not available in US stores. This a a FREE podcast and it appears that way when I do a search for it. However, it does not appear in the category I put it in.
When I go to Advanced and put in the URL manually it does work.... but that makes it difficult for viewers. I want them to see it in Podcasts>Arts & Entertainment>Photography and then be able to subscribe.
What can I do now?

Is your library located in the Pictures folder? See if you can do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #1, Repair Permissions, followed by Option #4, Rebuild Database if necessary.

How can I subscribe to a free podcast from a different country's i-store? I tried, but it says I can use only store in the country of residence. I just bought imac to be able to watch podcasts from my home country which is not country of residence... It is completely unreasonable!

You cannot.
As it has told you, you can use the itunes store of your country of residence and only while you are inside the borders of that country.

Unable to subscribe to digital magazines- ipad 2 ios 6.1

Hello all,
It seems that i am unable to subscribe to any digital magazines using my ipad 2 on ios 6.1.
Have tried numerous magazines to no joy.
If i go to view account it does not show up any purchased magazine subscriptions, so it looks like it will not let me subscribe for some reason.
Any ideas, but i want to avoid updating my ipad if possible!

ITunes U App downloaded, but unable to subscribe

I downloaded the iTunes U app on my iTunes v 11. I am still unable to subscribe to and download lectures from iTunes U.
I plan to view these lectures on my windows 7 pc. Are there any suggestions for how to fix this? Do I need to submit and enrollment request before I can subscribe?

I fixed my own problem.
The lecture series was in Podcast form. I had the default Parental Control settings on my iTunes viewer; which disabled Podcasts and internet radio. I simply had to enable these features and I was able to subscribe and download the necessary lecture series.

Each time I click the View in iTunes botton, I get the following.

* Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.
I use the latest versions of Windows7, Foxfire and iTunes.
Any idea what the problem can be?

I'm not sure I totally understand what your problem is, but a couple of things to note...
1. To get Podcasts to show in your Source list, go to iTunes Preferences, General and put a check next to Podcasts.
2. Did you download the podcasts from the iTunes Store or from NPR's Web site? Podcasts downloaded from sources other iTunes will usually go into your Music library along with all your music tracks.
Does that help at all? Not sure what you mean when you say: "When I double click on the podcast at the bottom, it won't play." What window are you in? The bottom of what? Please explain further.

My first thoughts were that 'bootcamp' was out of date...needed an upgrade to register windows 7. Since then I am once again met with the same problem... how can it not see the I have already have a paritioned drived ready to be used for installition, is there a way to fix this problem? I don't really want to pay out for 'i-parition' only to merge my 2 drives back into one and start again from scratch =/. Seems silly to do so...what are my options?

Unable to download OS X using Zapping PRAM index. Gives OS X Mavericks failed to download use the purchases page to try again - But cant see Mac app store icon as screen has completely gone grey
Since yesterday my Macbook Pro is not working - rather I cant see finder and upon booting, instead of any screen savers and icons displaying it is showing a balnk grey screen.
After reading some discussion and watching to some videos on You Tube, I managed to empty my Mac HD by traferring all the files to an external HD and then suing zapping PRAM keys, I got to a screen from where I am trying to download OS X to re install it.
However after some time it is giving error as 'OS X Mavericks failed to download use the purchases page to try again'.
But to access purchase page, I am unable to view Mac app stores application or icon.
Please help in fixing this issue.

Mine is 2011.
I tried the suggestion you gave, but it didnt work.
However can someone help with clarification - mine is 2011 MBP and I reconk that it came with OS X Lion pre-installed and now with OS X utilities page, when I try to reinstall OSX it tries installing Mavericks and fails at certain stage.
When it fails I get pop-up message as 'OS X Mavericks failed to download use the purchases page to try again'
But I am unable to get App stores and go to purchases, as I dont see that option anywhere using OS X Utilities (which is the only way I am able to access my mac once I start)
So, Kindly help whether I need to get OS X Lion reinsalled first and then upgrade OS X Mavericks?
To do so, should I buy OS X Lion (as I dont think there is any back-up of OS available on my machine)?
Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

According the error message, it seems TFS Server think this file is not changed.
After step 8, if there’s the edited icon shows on your testfile1.txt in Source Control Explorer?
Please click Refresh button in your Source Control Explorer, then re-edit your testfile1.txt file and try check-in again.
And try to reproduce this scenario on your another client(VS 2013 installed), check if this issue can be reproduce on another client or not.
