Unable to suddenly upload email attachments in nhsmail

Have been using Firefox for years; automatically updated. Also use nhsmail in my work and suddenly in last 24 hours for no obvious reason I am unable to upload attachments to emails in that account. I have tried all the recommended things including restarting Firefox in safe mode , deleting all history and cookies and cache, but no different. Then I tried Google Chrome and it works fine. I have also been in touch with nhsmail help and they couldn't find any problem. So it seems like it is a Firefox issue. Any suggestions please?

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
Please report back soon.

• Upload Emails/Attachments From Outlook To SharePoint

Hi,
Is there any tool that will allow you to directly add emails or email attachments to SharePoint?
At present I have users who are saving hese to a SharePoint forder that they have mapped through Explorer. If possible I'd like to do away with this and I think if theres a feature where you can click an 'Upload To SharePoint' type button or some similar
option it might be a solution.
Cheers
Paul

Yes harmonie is a great tool
We were using another third party tool called PageLight.  The tool has Uploading
an Email to SharePoint functionality but also we were able to do additional processing before Saving Email Attachments to SharePoint.  What I meant is that it had
a simple transformation module which supported .NET and allowed us to massage date before uploading to SharePoint.
When did the comparison, there were so many tools which were almost similar.  I could not find anything on Codeplex.  All the tools we reviewed
in the market were not expensive.

• Unable to open gmail email attachments on iPad3

I recently bought the new iPad. I configured gmail on iPad, however I am unable to open email attachments. Despite clicking on the attachments, the grey dashes around the attachments dont change & subsequently the am unable to view the attachments.
I have already reset the iPad a few time which included erasing all content & restoring it completely
Need some help to figure this one out.

What you're experiencing is one major issue raised by iPad users.  Yes, you are far better using the Gmail App than the native Gmail on iPad.  Even with the native, if you switch to desktop view, you'll have the same issue.
My issue has been, in the native version, can't attach anything without issues.  Using the Gmail App, I'm able to attach, but only pictures.  It doesn't allow me to open other subfiles to attached pics in other files or PDF, Word,Excell, etc which I create using QuickOffice Pro.
I've tried this on various Android Tablets, and not a single issue with them. You can attach anything.  So, it's definately an Apple device thing.
I'll even go further. If using Facebook on an iPad 3, you can post, but cannot delete a post you make whether in desktop view, native FB on iPad or the FB App itself.  Yet, on my Droid Razr phone, I can by simply swyping sideways, a black X appears and I delete the post.
It's these quirks, that is leading me to consider selling my iPad 3, and just stick with my 13" MacBook Pro.

• Can no longer upload email attachments

I have no idea what I did to cause this, but I can no longer upload or download email attachments to/from
Yahoo Email from Mozilla Firefox or Safari.
Is there a setting or preference that I could have accidentally pressed to cause this or is there
a way I can re-enable the attachments? If so how?
Thanks in advance

Hi Sam,
Have you already checked Note 606745 - CRM Content Management: Document does not open.
I remember I had an issue with it in CRM 4.0 or CRM 5.0.
Best regards

• Unable to see the email attachments in IC Agent Inbox

Hi All,
we are running on crm7.1, i have configured agent inbox and the email functionality is working fine, we used ERMS in our scenario to route the emails to specific agents.
Issue is that: the emails are visible and availble to the agents but we are not able to see the attachments along with, In agent inbox , the attachment is not visible for opening or downloading.
Following has been done:
Email profile has been configured IN IC WEB CLIENT -> BASIC SETTINGS -> COMMUNICATION - > EMAIL PROFILE - > Display of HTML mails is enabled.
Email profile has been added in business role via functional profiles.
SM30 -> table SXPARAMS - > maintained MULTILVALUE/ALTERNATIVE with HTML ACCORDING TO THE NOTE.
Note 1787141 has been implemented in the system.
still, we are not able to view the attachments which were sent to [email protected]  , while the agent logs on, he is able to see the email but not the attachment.
please let us know if we need to maintain any further settings to achieve this SIMPLE attachment functionality
Thanks in Advance,
Aj

• Unable to open .doc email attachments

I recently upgraded my iPad mini to iOS 8 and now I cannot open .doc attachments in my emails anymore. I'm using the iOS mail app with my Gmail account. The app just opens a grey screen with the document name. No change when I tried to reset my device.
Just to make sure I opened the same email on my iPhone 5 runnung iOS 7.1.2 and was able to open the attachment just fine... What gives?

This is a tip I got from ehow.com:
"While less common in Firefox, runtime errors can still occur on that browser. To prevent it from happening again, merely uninstall and reinstall Firefox on your computer."

• Uploading email attachments problems on my DELL

I have a DELL I6400 running Windows XP, IE Ver. 8.  When trying to clicking the "Browse" button in my Yahoo email to search files I want to attach to my emails I get the following error:
"This Tab has been recovered.  A problem with this webpage caused IE to close and reopen the tab"
I am then immediately placed back to an empty email.  I had been running IE Ver. 7, and received same error--with this version I was completely taken out of IE.
As a workaround, I load my files on a stick, take them to another computer, then bring up my Yahoo account and create my emails (with no problem adding my attachments).  I really need a functional email with attachments on my laptop.
As for virus scans, I do daily with Webroot Antivirus with Antispyware (Geek Squad had to completely clean up my computer 2 months ago, because of nasty infections!).
Anybody have an idea what is unique with my computer that is causing the error?

Im not sure whats causing all the crashing on Internet Explorer 8 , I had so many issues it was not funny!
If anyone else has some insight or tech bulletins, please post them?

• Adobe 2.0 Can't Open PDF Email Attachments

Hi. I am using WM5 on an HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125). I installed Adobe 2.0 for viewing PDF's and it works great. The only problem I have is that I get an error every time I try to view a pdf that is an email attachment.
When I open an email with a pdf attachment, I tap the attachment and Adobe 2.0 starts up. I then get the following errors:
"The file is damaged, but is being repaired"
"There was an errror opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
If I try to save the pdf attachment and then view it I get the same two errors listed above.
If I copy the pfd attachment from my PC to the device I can open it, but I suspect that is because some type of file conversion has taken place.
Should I be able to view pdf attachments on my device using adobe 2.0 or will the pdf attachments always need some type of coverting before I can view them on my device?
Adobe 2.0 works great, but so far I am unable to view pfd email attachments.
Thanks for the help.
Rob

>>> The .pdf must be transferred from a PC into the mobile device folder and conversion must take place in order to view the file on the mobile device. <<
There are likely a number of ways which will render pdf's non viewable on ppcs... some thoughts on this specific issue;
The activesync "plugin" is a "tagger" subject to failure... if the file can't be directly opened from the file menu of ppc reader, it is likely another problem.
ppc reader is acrobat 5... most pdf's are created with "backward compatibility" but it's also possible that the original generator specified acrobat 6 or 7
The "file associations" are often wrong with respect to pdf files... attachments apparently have another level of file association, so, before making any conclusion, save the file to the "My Documents" folder, start reader and open the file using the ppc reader's file menu.
>>> it would be nice if Adobe and Microsoft could put their heads together to straighten this out. <<
Remember something said long ago about "when pigs fly" ;-) ...we are on our own as there is zero evidence that anyone from adobe even reads these posts, and then you have to couple that with the fact that reader users are not adobe's customers... they have almost zero incentive to address ppc reader problems... wanna do something about it... get a major full acrobat user to complain to adobe that their pdfs are not really ppc readable.

• Cannot download email attachments windows 7 lion bootcamp MacBook Pro.

I cannot download or upload email attachments with windows 7 on lion bootcamp. Attached files such as xxx.doc,  yyyy.jpg, or zzz.txt  erroneously try to download as *icloud* and of course fail. By * I mean alphanumeric string. icloud mail tries to download perfectly good files as gibberish. On my mac lion side the mail function works fine. On the bootcamp side all non-icloud mail functions and browser functions work fine. I can easily send, forward, reply to and receive icloud mail. The only thing wrong is that I cannot sucessfully unload or download icloud email attachments.

You will have better exposure for your query in the Boot Camp forum:

• On my imac, All of a sudden I am unable to send original emails with any attachments.  I can attach the file but when I try to send it, it won't send.  Also, if I am emailing back and forth as it gets longer, it no longer transmits

On my imax, all of a sudden I am unable to send original emails with attachments of any size.  I can attached the file but when I try to transmit, it will not go.
Also, if I am emailing back and forth, once there gets to be several threads, it will no longer transmit.  Any suggestions. I am using gmail in the apple mail system

Mike,
Are any of your other applications going wonky, or is it just Logic?
I'm afraid I've never heard of this particular problem before, but if it were happening to me the first thing I would do is delete my "com.apple.logic.express.plist" file in Library>Preferences, then repair permissions in Disc Utility, and finally restart my computer.  Then I would launch Logic and see if the problem has been corrected.  It's amazing how much these two steps can accomplish.
If that doesn't resolve the issue I would launch Logic and go to Preferences>Audio Units Manager to see if all my plug-ins are properly validated.

• Can't locate email content? All of a sudden my email content has disappeared from inside MacMail? The actual emails are coming through but I am unable to view them as the area is just left blank! Nothing has been done to have changed this?

Can't locate email content? All of a sudden my email content has disappeared from inside MacMail? The actual emails are coming through but I am unable to view them in the content area! Nothing has been done to have changed this?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Hi,
I have just got myself a new PC with Windows 7 (64bits). Using IE 8 (32 bit version), I am unable to download emails attachments from my normal Yahoo account ([email protected]). I have read somewhere that this could be due to the fact that Yahoo uses Norton as antivirus scan for email attachments, and that this could clash with BT NetProtectPlus (McAfee under the bonnet). Is there an option I need to switch off (and if so which one / how) in BT NetProtectPlus in order for me to be able to download attachments via Yahoo mail ?
Please note that this used to work on my previous PC (Windowx XP).
Thanks for your help. This is getting really frustrating !
Hi. Welcome to the forums.
To be honest, there would not really be a clash between the products you've mentioned, because the online system using Norton is a server system and actioned before any download. There is possibly an option in BTNetprotect for "email scanning" or similar. This option can be turned off in the general case, since disk writes are covered anyway,
Have you tried another browser (e.g. Firefox, Opera or Safari) to see if the same conditions exist ?
Is there any particular error message or delay you are seeing ?

• Email attachments from SSRS email subscription are not being uploaded to an email enabled SharePoint 2013 document library

Email attachments from SSRS email subscription are not being uploaded to an email enabled SharePoint 2013 document library.
I have tested the library using a standard email (with attachment) to the library and this works fine.
I have monitored the drop folder on the server and I can see both emails being picked up in drop and processed by SharePoint.  The email sent from a regular email account is uploaded with the attachment, whereas the email sent via SSRS subscription
email is uploaded and the attachment (report) is missing.

An update on this.  The email when sending from SSRS subscription is received in the library and the attachment is contained within the .EML file uploaded.
The behaviour that I would like from SSRS subscription emails are to just have the document and not the email.
Below is a snippet of the .EML files I quick copied from the Drop folder.

• Unable to send PDFs as email attachments

I have become unable to send PDFs as email attachments when using Firefox.
Depending on the PDF, I either get the message “There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.” or it opens as a blank document. This occus when opening the file with both Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro. The problem seems to be isolated to PDFs. (I am able to send Word files. If a PDF is zipped before attaching, it can be opened without problem.) This occurs on both an institutional email account and personal (Yahoo) email account. This problem is isolated to Firefox (does not happen in Chrome).
I have reset Firefox to default settings, as well as reinstalling.
Thank you.

Update Adobe® Acrobat® Plug-in for Web Browsers, Version 10.1.13 to version 11.
Also please update all of your plugins and try again.

Upgraded to Mountain Lion a week ago.  Suddenly unable to receive incoming emails from Mail.6
Can successfully send outgoing messages.
Have completed following tasks to no avail:
1)          When click on "Take all accounts online" and entering password for gmail / looking at Mail Connection Doctor: Got Green light, Mail was able to connect to the Internet. But…
"Trying to log in to this Goggle Imap account failed.  Verify username and password are correct."
I have verified username and password being correct.
2)          System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars typed in name, email address & gmail password and got this message.
"Unable to verify account name and password."
3)          Mail> preferences>account>password.  Confirmed correct password, name, email address and imap "address" Then to Advanced & confirmed correct port . Restarted computer.
"lay person terms" appreciated.
Thanks!

Found solution, Yeay!   No coincidence.  Mountain Lion (osx 10.8, upgraded) is not compatible with Gmail if one has 2-step verification set up on their gmail security settings.
There are 2 options to solving problem
1)   https://discussions.apple.com/message/19109209#19109209)
This will take you through the process to disable 2-step security feature on gmail security page. Thank You  iPatA.
2)   http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&ctx=ch_b/0/SmsAuthConfig& answer=185833
This will take you through the process of assigning an "application specific password" to upgraded Mail 6.0 for successful communication between Mail 6.0 Mountain Lion while keeping a 2 step verification process if you prefer.
Thanks for you energy & effort rkaufmann87.
Sincerely, much appreciated.
