Unable to sync all of my playlist.

I am only able to sync about 50 % of my playlist. After that the Itunes freezes.  Also I get  "the Ipod "Graeme's Ipod " cannot be synced, a dulicate file name was specified.  even I tunes purchased won't sync.

As a test, are you able to sync a smaller portion of your library?  For example, select just a few small playlists to sync (instead of everything).

If the hard drive that crashed is the one that stored the itunes library, be sure to restore the library from Time Machine (mac) or whatever backup you use on windows.  That will get back your music.  I suspect that the replacement drive has an empty itunes library and thus, perhaps, the itunes match used that to sync to its servers.

  • HT204053 I am unable to sync all contacts on my iMac (which includes outlook for Mac contacts) with my iPad mini, how do I do this, I have enabled icloud on both devices and ticked all the boxes.

I am unable to sync all contact in my address book on my imac with my ipad mini, it looks like only icloud & yahoo contact sync leaving out the ones in outlook for mac.  I have enabled icloud on both devices and ticked all the boxes.

Thanks for that, but my Outlook contacts are synced to and all in my mac contacts book, does this not meen they would go to icloud,
No, they are in the On My Mac account in the Mac Contacts app, not iCloud.
or are they in a different format despite being in mac contacts?  If so can the outlook contacts be exported in some other way to icloud?
Outlook is not compatible with iCloud, check Microsofts site if you need more verification.
If you want them in iCloud use Mac Contacts and move them from On My Mac to iCloud. This will remove them from Outlook.

  • IPod touch won't sync all songs in playlist

My son bought a brand-new iPod touch yesterday. He has been trying to compile his playlist and sync it to the new iPod. He has 41 songs on his playlist and only 22 of them will sync. They are all in the iTunes library and the iPod library, but not on the playlist. We tried changing Settings>Music>Group by Album Artist>Off, and that doesn't work. We've also created new playlists and tried syncing those, and that doesn't work either. Today, I noticed that my iPod Touch is doing the very same thing. We have the most recent software and many of the songs were purchased directly through iTunes.
Any thoughts? We've had my son's iPod for 2 days and there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I am paying Apple support for help on something that seems to be an inbred error on their part.
    Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem as well and tried so many of these solutions, but no luck. I just got a new laptop with windows 8 and when I hooked my iTouch4 to my computer it only show 36 songs out of 509 of the ones I have on my iTouch. (I was freaking out because I thought windows 8 had something to do with it, but as usual I was being paranoid )
I found a way to put the rest of my music on my USB and hooked it to my laptop and put that music in a separate folder. I had all of them play onto iTunes. Now they all worked on iTunes, but I realized they didn't really sync onto my iTouch. To test it out a bought a new song on iTunes and clicked "sync" onto my iTouch, but nothing happened.
So I started searching for answers, but none of the methods solved my problem. So I started messing around with it and realized that the problem was ACTUALLY A SIMPLE SOLUTION.
So this is what I did...
    1) Start playing one of the songs that won't sync to your iTouch4
(don't know how to sync all songs at once yet)
    2) Now right click at the top bar of iTunes where it shows the song playing
    right click on album picture
    3) Then scroll to "Add to Playlist"
the arrow of "Add to Playlist" will show a list of your own playlists and the name of your iPod
    4) Click on the name of your iPod      Ex) Robert's iPod
    5) Then (you can stop playing song at this point) click on iPod device
This should right away take you to "Summary"
    6) Instead of being on "Summary" look for "On This iPod" - Click it
    7) Now "On This iPod" show a list of all the music that is currently on your iTouch
(including the song you just added from iTunes by following these steps)
    8) Make sure all the songs you want in the list have been marked with a "check mark"
    9) Then click "sync"
Check iTouch to see if song downloaded...
*If not then - still on "On This iPod" - click on "Autofill"
    (Wait for it to load)
    Now click "sync"
You should now have the songs on your iTouch as well!
It's a simple solution, but I haven't seen anyone advicing it and I wish they had so I didn't have to go through all this trouble
    Hopefully this helps!!!

  • Not syncing all songs on playlists. Hmm. What's wrong.

iTunes is not syncing all songs on my playlists with my devices. No changes have been made recently. The PC is a 5 year old Dell, with Itunes on it the whole time. It has the latest itunes version. My devices are a 160 gig Classic, and 2 iPhone 4's. All devices have the latest ios. I synced yesterday like i have hundreds of times before, and each playlist is missing 1 or two songs. Yes, they are all checked in itunes. I've tried both "sync all songs in library", and "sync select playlists". Same Result. Any guesses?

I am having this issue also.  Not a problem when I had the iPhone 4, but now that I have the 4s, I have missing songs from playlists.  The songs are there on my phone - I can play them, but they won't show up on my playlist.  I can manually add them to the playlist, but they won't "stick".  I can play the songs fine on my PC in iTunes fine also.  Seems like it only applies to songs that were actually purchased from iTunes (iCloud available).
I tried removing all music from the phone (de-syncing with iTunes) and then doing a fresh sync - no dice.
I don't want to go through a full new set up of my phone (again) - just for this issue, with no guarantee of success.  How do we escalate this to Apple?  Do they review these posts?

  • Unable to sync all tracks

Please help when in ITunes whenever I try to sync music all files will not sync to my iPad - eg 56 tracks will only copy 53 - the three not copied are always the same tracks. I have deleted the music on my iPad and resynced but same three tracks still missing.

Thank yoi for replying, yes the three tracks are in Itunes ands play on my MacBook. They also have transferred successfully to my IPod but will NOT transfer to my IPad.
I even tried putting the three tracks in their own seperate playlist and ticking it to sync biut no success!!!
When I try and sync all 56 tracks it only see 53 on the sync menu.
    Very strange!!!

  • Cannot get iPod 80G to sync ALL songs in playlist...

Ok... nobody else seems to have this particular problem, either that or I just can't find any mention.
I have an 80G iPod classic. My entire library (about 160G) is on a Linux server that I have on my internal LAN. When I create a new playlist for the iPod which is just over 10,000 songs (about 70G in size, well under the available 74.53G available), iTunes only syncs about half the playlist I set up for the iPod. It seems to pick and choose what it wants to sync, but always does an entire album.
It always tells me sync'ing is complete, and gives no error messages. But yes, only about 5000 of the 10,000 songs are on there.
Is there some sort of theoretical limit here that I'm missing, or am I doing something wrong? All of the music is mine, from my personal library, from about a week's worth of ripping CD's.
The library is FAR too big to have local on my macbook pro.
    -g-

For myself I've found that iTunes seems to stall when trying to sync large numbers of files. Here's my approach.
    *Break up large transfers*
In iTunes select the menu item *File... New Smart Playlist*. Change the first drop-down box to Playlist, the next to is and the next to Music (or whatever playlist you want to sync). Tick against *Limit to*, type in say 10, then change the drop-down to GB, and set the last drop-down to artist. When you click OK you can enter a name for the playlist, e.g. Transfer. Now sync this playlist to your iPod rather than your entire library. When the sync is complete modify the rule ( *File... Edit playlist* ) to increase the size by your chosen amount, then sync and repeat. You can experiment with different size increments, if it doesn't work just choose something a bit smaller until it works each time. Before long you should have all your music on your iPod. Once that's done you can move on to other media such as podcasts, videos, photos, playlists etc.

  • Unable to sync All Day events with a Nokia 61i phone in Mac OS X 10..4.10

When I sync events that are created in iCal with a Nokia 61i some events is OK other not. What can I do to get everything right?

    First, please check as follows.
    * Launch iSync.
    * Click the icon of your phone.
    * Check the calendar (category) you'd like to sync is checked.
    * Click "option".
    * Check "Sync all day event" is checked.
I can sync all day events by this way, but have trouble on my N73.
All day events are synced as "meeting" starting from 12:00am to 11:59pm.
In iCal, I have a lot of all day events including holidays, so the weekly view is full of black bars covering whole days.
Should it be synced as "notes"?

I hear this problem is partly solved on iSycn 3.0 in Leopard.

  • Itunes is not syncing all songs in playlists to iphone

i have multiple playlists with 70+ songs in them, however after phone is synced, only between 15-22 songs are in the corresponding playlists on my iphone. just need to find out if anyone is having the same problem since updating to itunes 10.5, and how i would rectify it.

The reason that (for me) smart playlists were (mostly/completely) empty on my iPod Touch 2nd Gen was that I had specified in the smart playlist criteria that the files were MP3s but then when I synced the iPod I had the songs convert to the 128 kbps AAC, which means they no longer fit the rules.
Check if you are doing something similar.

  • Unable to Sync All Videos

I have some videos in the Mpeg4 format that I have put into my iTunes movie library. They are not protected by any sort of DRM software but I am unable to get them onto my ipod touch. I am using iTunes 8.0.1, I think it is the most recent. I was able to put one of the videos onto my ipod but the others will not go. I prefer syncing automatically, but I even tried manually managing my library and I was unable to get them to transfer. Any clues as to what is going on?

Highlight your movies in your iTunes library, go to the Advanced menu and select 'create iPod or iPhone version'. When it's finished converting them, drag the new copies over onto your ipod.

Not quite, there's no prohibition here on discussing video conversion apps used legally & relevant to the iPod Touch, unless the information pertains to subverting DRM or other violations of the board T&C's.

  • Unable to sync all of songs to my Ipod. Driving me crazy!

I have around 5711 songs for my Ipod Classic 80gb and for some reason, it'll synch upwards to 3k before freezing on a random song, at which point it will state an error message regarding the "disk". In most cases it will display this message, in others I have to actually eject the Ipod to free up the frozen Itunes. At which point if I plugged my Ipod back into the Itunes, it will display 3/4th of the song and content that it loaded as "Other" and while syncing, it will delete all of that content and repeat the cycle.

If you have the problem which displays the error message along the lines of "this iPod cannot be synched or written to", then try this :
Open iTunes, making sure you display songs in List View (its just to the left of the search bar at the top right of iTunes). Then, sort your songs by either Name, or Artist - they are easiest to see alphabetically.
Attempt to sync again, noting how many songs are successfully synched. Your ipod will synch in the same alphabetical order, provided you have connected your iPod AFTER sorting songs as above. That way, you should be able to guess roughly which song, or songs, is/are causing a problem. Despite the error message, i found that just ONE song was corrupted, even though I expected the worst (some kind of hard drive failure).
Next, highlight the problem song/songs, and press delete. The offending songs will remain in the Trash - don't empty the trash, though.
Then disconnect your iPod, and reconnect, to synch again. It worked for me.
Lastly, move each song from the Trash back to iTunes, and you should find that you have (hopefully) no more than one song that's corrupted. Either re-import, or (worst case), buy again. Or tell Apple that its corrupted and ask them for a freebie, provided you bought it from iTunes in the first place.
    Good luck!
    Jim
