Unable to sync bookmarks between N80 and Firefox

Versions
PC Suite - 6.81.13.0, Windows XP SP2, Lotus Notes - 6.0.3
Mozilla Firefox - 1.5.0.7
Nokia N80 version
V 4.0623.0.41
26-07-2006

Nokia N80 (12)
I was able to sync up the N80 with Lotus Notes Calender and Contacts until I turned on sync of bookmarks with Firefox. It synced up the first time. Subsequently, I am unable to sync up after connecting to the N80. The only way it works is if I turn off bookmark syncing in "Nokia PC Sync - Settings/Bookmarks/Bookmark Items".
Any solutions? Please explain how bookmarks can be managed/synced up with Firefox. Which bookmarks will be synced?

My questions is why does iCloud control panel 3.0 no longer sync with Safari???? It worked so well before. And now the option is not even there? I work across platforms and across MANY iDevices. The only internet engine that might work now across all is Chrome. Can I go from Safari to Chorme in the new iCloud control panel. I use my bookmarks and reading lists everywhere. I know Safari blindfolded. Why did Apple drop it's own search engine? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Thank you
Peace

    How to sync bookmarks between Mac and iPhone without iCloud?
    I bought a new iPhone and i would like to copy my Safari's bookmarks from my iMac (OS X 10.10.3) to my new iPhone (iOS 8.3).
    How to do this, without iCloud?

    You might be able to use Google Calendar to do what you want.  Set up a Google account on the web, set up the MacBook to access the Google account, including calendar, then set up the iPhone the same way.  While I'm using MAvericks, I am also using Google to manage my calendar, since I don't particularly *like* iCloud... And I came from Android to iPhone, but I haven't like iCloud since it was called MobileMe.
    Oh, and as for sync to iTunes, can't you just use a direct conenction to the computer (either WiFi or cable) to keep the music in control?

  • Firefox Sync doesn't sync bookmarks between smartphone and tablet.Works fine between desktop and mobiles.

    I have a desktop,smartphone and tablet.They all have the latest FX35.They are all signed in and connected to Sync.Sync is the latest version and it works with email and password, instead of pins.On all devices, Sync is configured to sync all items(bookmarks,tabs etc).
    When I enabled Sync on smartphone and tablet, they got my desktop's bookmarks without a problem.They appear in a folder named desktop bookmarks.All the changes reflect properly between smartphone-desktop and tablet-desktop, but, the bookmarks do not sync between smartphone-tablet.
    When I open a tab on the smartphone, after a while it appear on tablet's Synced Tabs page.Vice verse is true also.So at least some syncing exists between smartphone-tablet.
    Is it possible to create a bookmark on smartphone and have it appear on the tablet and vice verse,just like the synced tabs work ? I tried deleting the sync account and creating a new one, but I still don't see my smartphone's bookmarks on the tablet.
    It would be even better if there was an option to choose which device can override another device's bookmarks.I don't really need desktop bookmarks on smartphone, but I'm too scared to delete them.I'm afraid it will also delete them from desktop... ?
    Thanks.

    HI GeorgePeterson:
    So "new" aka "Firefox Accounts based sync" syncs desktop<->tablet and desktop<->phone but not phone<->tablet. Hmmm I actually have tested this S5<->Nexus 5<->desktop (Mac) and it worked.
    soooo the big question :-)
    # What desktop OS version (e.g. Mac OS X 10.10, 10.8, Windows (Windows 7, 8), Ubutuntu crafty codger ), what tablet and OS version(e.g. Nexus 7 2013, Android 5 Lollipop), what phone (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.2)
    I will re-test too!
    Cheers!

  • Cannot sync bookmarks between iPhone and iPad

    I have the latest iOS running on both the iPhone and iPad. I have the latest version of iBooks on both. I am running the latest version of iTunes on the latest version of Lion on my Mac and am logged into my iCloud account on all devices, with servcies enabled throughout all devices. In iBooks, I have enabled sync bookmarks on all devices. And just in case someone asks, yes they all have access to a wifi network.
    However, my bookmarks are not in sync at all. In fact no device duplicates the same bookmarks.
    So what is going on here?
    I just saw an Apple ad with the tag line "it just works" ... Nothing could be farther from the truth. In the absence of any instructions, I feel like I have reached the edge of intuitiveness here ...

    Seriously, why don't my Bookmarks synchronize between my devices?
    Is this an iCloud problem or is it an iBooks problem?
    Obviously selecting sync bookmarks in the settings for each device is not enough ...

  • I need to sync bookmarks between Firefox Sync and Seamonkey. Is this possible and if so how to do it??

    I use Firefox and Seamonkey, both on the same computer and also on other computers. I would like to use Firefox Sync to sync bookmarks between Firefox and Seamonkey on all my computers, but I don't understand how to do this, since the browsers seem to use their own separate servers.
    Is this possible and if so can you tell me how to set it up.
    Thanks.

    I understand the confusion!
    I am not a Mozilla support person, but from my experience, Sync should be called Mozilla Sync, not Firefox or Seamonkey Sync.....
    If you create an account in Firefox, that account is accessible to Seamonkey.
    As per the Mozilla instructions, in Firefox you open "Options, sync, add device" and in Seamonkey "setup sync, I already have an account". The text here is a bit confusing because it should read "I already have a Mozilla Sync Account", otherwise you tend to think it implies a Seamonkey Sync account...
    Then click "connect" and Seamonkey then supplies three fields of characters which you enter in the appropriate fields in the Firefox "add device" dialog.
    I think it is confusing that in Firefox the server is called "Firefox Sync Server" and likewise Seamonkey offers a "Seamonkey Sync Server" suggesting they are two completely separate, non-connected entities.
    Hope this helps!

  • Sync- Can we sync bookmarks between different pc or different os except for between pc and android

    I use win7 on my personal pc and ubuntu on my working pc. I hope that sync function help us to sync bookmarks between the two pc conveniently by clounding service. Of course , saving bookmark as a file is OK.,but It is not good and convenient.Thanks!

    Note that all devices (computers) need to run a Firefox 29 or later version to be able to use the new Sync version.

  • Dozens of open tabs lost! Synced them, reinstalled Windows and Firefox, set up Sync, looked up "tabs on other devices" in history - Only a third or so listed.

    Dozens of open tabs lost! Synced them, reinstalled Windows and Firefox, set up Sync, looked up "tabs on other devices" in history -> Only a third or so listed.
    Usually, when I reinstall Windows, I manually backup my Firefox bookmarks and open tabs, but because Sync has worked perfectly for me in the past, I didn't do it this time. I backed up all my other files and settings and whatnot from the rest of my system, then in Firefox I hit the Sync button (put in on the GUI so I see if it's syncing or done) for the last time, waited until the green rotating dot was gone, closed Firefox, shut down the system, formatted the drive and reinstalled Windows and Firefox. After setting up Sync I waited a while to make sure everything is on my system.
    Then I wanted to have all the tabs and windows open as I had on the old system, so I went to the history and "tabs on other devices". I could already see from the small size of the list, that tabs were missing. I went through all of them, opened them and sorted them into windows.
    -> Maybe about two thirds of the tabs I had open on my old system are gone!
    Not just new tabs that might not have been synced (although the button showed sync was complete), but also old tabs (from weeks ago) that must have been synced before. Actually maybe especially or even only the old ones are lost. And the lost tabs are not just from one of the open windows, but from several.
    What can I do to recover my lost tabs?
    They contain important websites that I didn't bookmark yet, articles that I wanted to read, windows with dozens of tabs on a topic that I did some research for and stuff like that.
    What does the green circle mean? Does it indicate that the sync is complete (to the Firefox servers) or just that the changes have been saved locally and set up for some next scheduled sync with the Firefox servers?
    Further info:
    I always run the newest stable release of Firefox (v19 on both systems). Old system was Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation, new system is Windows 8 Pro. My used Sync quota is about 10 MB. I had 4 Firefox windows open with different amount of tabs in each of them, from 10 to maybe 80 with an overall amount of 150-200. Most of them weren't loaded. Firefox start is set to "load last session" and tabs are set to "load when selected". Memory usage 500 MB - 1 GB.

    I have most of the items bookmarked. Having 200 - 300 tabs open saves time, since I don't have to go to the bookmarks, if the tabs are already open. One problem has been crashes, but as long as I can restore a previous session, I can still get to the data. I had quite a few tabs open when I was planning to purchase a new computer. I also follow the stock market, and the weather. I was also looking at various VIrtual Private Networking (VPN) sites. At one time, I probably had 20 - 50 tabs open, just for those. I did bookmark a few, but unfortunately lost the VPN tabs, when Firefox crashed. Even if I don`t go to a particular group of tabs very often, leaving it open is faster, especially since I will know where they are. I often put the computer in standby mode, rather than shutting it off, especially if I will remain in the same location.

    what's the difference between MOZILLA and FIREFOX?

    Firefox doesn't include the SeaMonkey suite.<br />
    SeaMonkey is a separate program (not just a browser, but a suite) maintained outside the Mozilla Corporation.
    From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SeaMonkey
    <blockquote>SeaMonkey is a free and open source[3] cross-platform Internet suite.<br />
    It is the continuation of the former Mozilla Application Suite, based on the same source code.<br />

    The development of SeaMonkey is community-driven, in contrast to the Mozilla Application Suite, which until its last released version (1.7.13) was governed by the Mozilla Foundation. The new project-leading group is the SeaMonkey Council.

  • Is there an ON LOAD difference between IE and Firefox?

    I am experiencing a problem where a page does one thing in IE and something different in Firefox. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal behaviour or not.
    I have an ApEx page which is building a dynamic AJAX hierarchy tree based on the example outlined in Carl Backstrom's MacDaddy Example apex.oracle.com site (http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:49). As I click down the tree, each node is a hyperlink which takes me to a detail page about that node. I have an onload process on the Hierarchy Tree page which attempts to traverse down the tree to the node which I was "last at" when I was last on the page. This is so that when I am on the detail page of a node, I can click the "Back" button on the browser to navigate back to the Hierarchy Tree page and be presented with the "view" of the tree as when I left.
    When I click the "Back" button to navigate back to the Hierarchy Tree page, the ONLOAD javascript code runs in IE, but not in Firefox. This has been verified by adding a simple "alert" function to the ONLOAD. The "alert" does not appear in Firefox when navigating back, but does in IE. By the way... when I initially navigate to the Hierarchy Tree page, the "alert" shows up in both IE and Firefox. It's the navigation BACK to the page where it doesn't show up in Firefox.
    First of all, is this normal functionality? Meaning, when you use the Back button on the browser, is the ONLOAD code suppose to be run or does it only run when you navigate TO a page (not BACK TO a page)?
    Secondly, is this normal functionality within ApEx? Is the ApEx environment doing anything in the background to screw up IE or Firefox from doing or not doing the ONLOAD code when navigating back to my Hierarchy Tree page?

    Hi jeffmbellucci,
    If you are having issues dragging music to your iPhone 4 after a recent upgrade to iOS 7, you may want to verify that the phone is still set to "Manually manage music and videos." You may find the following article helpful:

  • 45 min long session of log file sync waits between 5000 and 20000 ms

    45 min long log file sync waits between 5000 and 20000 ms
    Encountering a rather unusual performance issue. Once every 4 hours I am seeing a 45 minute long log file sync wait event being reported using Spotlight on Oracle. For the first 30 minutes the event wait is for approx 5000 ms, followed by an increase to around 20000 ms for the next 15 min before rapidly dropping off and normal operation continues for the next 3 hours and 15 minutes before the cycle repeats itself. The issue appears to maintain it's schedule independently of restarting the database. Statspack reports do not show an increase in commits or executions or any new sql running during the time the issue is occuring. We have two production environments both running identicle applications with similar usage and we do not see the issue on the other system. I am leaning towards this being a hardware issue, but the 4 hour interval regardless of load on the database has me baffled. If it were a disk or controller cache issue one would expect to see the interval change with database load.
    I cycle my redo logs and archive them just fine with log file switches every 15-20 minutes. Even during this unusally long and high session of log file sync waits I can see that the redo log files are still switching and are being archived.
    The redo logs are on a RAID 10, we have 4 redo logs at 1 GB each.
    I've run statspack reports on hourly intervals around this event:
    Top 5 Wait Events
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wait % Total
    Event Waits Time (cs) Wt Time
    log file sync 756,729 2,538,034 88.47
    db file sequential read 208,851 153,276 5.34
    log file parallel write 636,648 129,981 4.53
    enqueue 810 21,423 .75
    log file sequential read 65,540 14,480 .50
    And here is a sample while not encountering the issue:
    Top 5 Wait Events
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wait % Total
    Event Waits Time (cs) Wt Time
    log file sync 953,037 195,513 53.43
    log file parallel write 875,783 83,119 22.72
    db file sequential read 221,815 63,944 17.48
    log file sequential read 98,310 18,848 5.15
    db file scattered read 67,584 2,427 .66
    Yes I know I am already tight on I/O for my redo even during normal operations yet, my redo and archiving works just fine for 3 hours and 15 minutes (11 to 15 log file switches). These normal switches result in a log file sync wait of about 5000 ms for about 45 seconds while the 1GB redo log is being written and then archived.
    I welcome any and all feedback.

    Lee,
    log_buffer = 1048576 we use a standard of 1 MB for our buffer cache, we've not altered the setting. It is my understanding that Oracle typically recommends that you not exceed 1MB for the log_buffer, stating that a larger buffer normally does not increase performance.
    I would agree that tuning the log_buffer parameter may be a place to consider; however, this issue last for ~45 minutes once every 4 hours regardless of database load. So for 3 hours and 15 minutes during both peak usage and low usage the buffer cache, redo log and archival processes run just fine.
