Unable to sync ipad to itunes on desktop due to being unable to download version 11.1

My iPad2 is updated with iOS 7.0.4. Whether I manually connect the iPad to the desktop or try it wirelessly, I get a message stating that I must have iTunes 11.1 or higher to update.  When I click check for updates, iTunes says I am not connected to the internet, but clearly I am or I would not be able to send this message. I went to apple.com downloaded 11.1....it said thank you for downloading. I restarted computer. However, I'm still getting the same message from iTunes and can't sync iPad. Help please.

Hi JSinMCO,
If your iPad is not seen correctly correctly, please walk through the steps in this article.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Of course take the steps in order and test.
Best regards,
Nubz

  • HT4235 Unable to sync iPad to iTunes

I am unable to sync my iPad (Mini) to iTunes (Verson-11) on Windows-7. The message reads as sync failed to start, reconnect and try again. Could you please advise me on how to resolve this issue.

Also, I have run the iTunes diagnostic, which pretty much said the same thing, which is iTunes Sync is not working!

  • Unable to sync ipad to itunes

i recently purchased the ipad yesterday. i have updated the itunes software and when i click sync, i get a status bar as if it were syncing. However, about 2 seconds later it stops syncing as if it were complete.
I do have an ipod associated with this computer, self built windows 7 os, as well.
    any advice would be great.

    A few things to try.
    1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
    2) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.
    3) If still no good, try removing and reinstalling itunes. (back up the itunes folder first.)
    4) If still no good, try a restore from the itunes/pc.

Unable to sync iPad to iMac. Get message 'iPad can't be synced because not enough free space to hold items in iTunes Library'. Only major content is iTunes U stuff (lots of videos). Don't download any music or other videos to iPad.
Deleted iTunesU content on iPad and unticked iTunes U from syncing on iMac but message remains.
    Very frustrating.

No longer a problem. After leaving a while and trying again the iPad and iMac successfully synced.

    Hi jeffmbellucci,
If you are having issues dragging music to your iPhone 4 after a recent upgrade to iOS 7, you may want to verify that the phone is still set to "Manually manage music and videos." You may find the following article helpful:

    - You can only syncewith one iTunes library.  It sounds like you change libraries such as changing the computer.
    - As you may know you can transfer iTunes' pruchases to a new computer by:

    - This previous discussion provide info on how to move other music from an iPod to a computer:

    - You can also manage music with different computers by:

  • Lost my apps when sync iPad with iTunes

when sync iPad with iTunes, apps purchased in iPad by another account were lost, and the apps can't be seen when check for available downloads. How to get back the purchased apps? thanks.

If you lost all your apps on both the iPad and the computer, you can download the apps again at no cost. You can search your emails for app store purchases if you can't remember all the apps that you have downloaded.

  • HT1386 I am unable to sync and move iTunes purchases to my devices wirelessly...

Hello, so I am unable to sync and move iTunes purchases to my devices wirelessly. I accidentally ended all the apple processes on windows 8 Task Manager, is there any way to reverse this. I uninstalled iTunes then re installed it and it still will not work. I really hate myself for doing this... Anyways, if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank-you so much!

  • I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred?

I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred before I can run the iOS update or I will lose them.  What should I do?  How do I figure out what purchases have not been transferred?   I went into iTunes on my Mac and ran "Check for available downloads" and I still get same message.

The 'cehck for available downloads' checks if there is anything in the store that you haven't yet downloaded, it won't copy anything from the iPad. Have you tried doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases ?

  • Hi, I currently have iTunes version 10.4 loaded on my windows desktop. I'm trying to download version 10.6 but have been unsuccessful. My system saying that current iTunes.msi file is not valid. What can I do?

Hi, I currently have iTunes version 10.4 loaded on my windows desktop. I'm trying to download version 10.6 but have been unsuccessful. My system saying that current iTunes.msi file is not valid. What can I do?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
