Unable to sync iPod- iOS 6.3?

Every time i plug my iPod touch in to sync, an error message comes up saying it can't be used because i don't have iOS 6.3 installed- this iOS does not yet exist and it's preventing me from syncing. How do i resolve this

I would try:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

Try deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder. There may be more than one such folder. For its location see:

when i connect my ipod an error message appears "unable to sync ipod (-48" and some of my songs was erased. and another error message appears that ipod was corrupted, how can i fix this?

If everything is in your iTunes library, try doing a restore on the iPod and see if it then works ok.

Since the Surface Pro 3 is effectively a standard Windows 8.1 system with a "tablet" form factor it should be fine (I don't have one - yet - but I know people who are using the Pro 3 with iTunes/iPods without problems).
You may be encountering an issue that occurs with the last two releases of iTunes - 12.1.0.71 and 12.1.1.4 are (unlike previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes) full 64-bit applications - prior to 12.1 most "64-bit" versions were actually 32-bit applications with a 64-bit installer.  Many users have encountered issues with the 64-bit version of 12.1 - less so with 12.1.1.4, but it appears that there are some remaining incompatibilities/inconsistencies with some 64-bit Windows systems.  Even though I've not seen this reported specifically for the Surface Pro 3, it may be worth trying this alternative installer: iTunes 12.1.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards).  The "for older video cards" label is a little misleading, since although this does resolve a video compatibility issue that iTunes detects when first run it is actually the same architecture as pre-12.1 releases (32-bit applications with a 64-bit installer).
You don't say that you've actually had sync problems or are just concerned that you might ... if the former, posting back more details of symptoms may be useful.  For example, if you connect your iPod does it show up in iTunes?  If not, there may be specific resolutions that could work rather than using the "for older video cards" version - see iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

I ahve updated itunes to the latest version and each time i sync the content is not transferred. All I have on the ipod touch is the purchases i have made via Itunes store. Any advice please.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod set up via wifi?
Setup viat connecting to this computer/itunes library?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

  • Unable to sync ipod 3g

hi I have a iPod Touch 3g 32gb and I updated to iOS 5 and it removed all my apps and music.  Now it will not sync or apply any changes that I try to make.  I have tried restoring it and it fails, or iTunes has a memory leak and I have to force stop it.  I have iTunes 10.5 and just not sure what my problem is.  I have reinstalled some of my apps thru the app store and when it's plugged in it only says that i have 1.85gb  of other on it.  What is my problem?

I have exactly the same experience (music/movies gone, but every time I connect the iphone, it asks if I want to continue restoring- but then it dies with an error, in my case -402620415 rather than -50)
The iTunes store hint is interesting, but didn't change the situation at all

You don't need to uninstall AMDS, just restart the service:
    Windows Vista or Windows 7
Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Click the Windows Start button .
In the Start Search field type Services.
In the Programs section of the search results, Click "Services".
Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service as shown below:
After the service has stopped, click Start the service.
After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.

  • Unable to sync Ipod classic

I have downloaded 27 songs from store they are showing on the computer but I when I sync my ipod the songs will not transfer over.  Any advice

First see Corrupt iPod classic just to make sure there's no reason to suspect a real problem on the device.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)
