UNABLE TO SYNC. MY NEW iPHONE WITH MY MAC OS 10.5 OFFICE FOR MAC 2011

I can not sync. my Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 (calendars, contacts, etc.) with my new iphone4s.   Any suggestions?

@Kally24, you don't state what iPhone model or iOS you are using but for iOS 5 you need the following System
Apple ID (required for some features)
Internet access
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.5 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)

    5) I have various clanders being shown on my Q -10.
I have disabled 'Home' calendar and Kept "BBLink' calendar ON (abled)   as I was getting double entries after syncing with mycomputer.

    Hello Zuhaib,
Sorry to hear that your iPhone is currently not recognized by iTunes.  I found an article with steps you can take when you experience an issue like this.  I wasn't sure whether you were using a Windows or Mac computer, so I included the respective articles for each:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • Is mountain lion compatible with old (2004) version of microsoft office for MAc?

I have heard that Mountain Lion is not compatible with old (2004) version of microsoft office for MAc. Is that true?

... unless, like me, you open up an uber-important Excel 2004 file in Excel 2011 and get the following dialog box which leads to a trashed Chart, which I need access to EVERY WEEK:
Can't say I've ever seen such error messages, and I've opened lots of files created back in OS 8. Also many more much older than that from Windows 95 and even MS-DOS.
Lucky for you; unlucky for me that an important Excel 2004 Chart gets corrupted when opened in Excel 2011!
I suspect the problem is in the conversion routine that Microsoft added to Office 2011 to update Excel 2004 files.  How conversant are you historically with converting Excel 2004 files that contain charts to Excel 2011?  Because your experience with OS 8, Windows 95 and even MS-DOS has no relevance on this issue.

You will notice, Kurt, that I based my advice to the OP as "if you are unable or unwilling to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2011..."
Yes, I saw it. But if everyone did what you would expect with your statement, no one would suggest upgrading to Office 2011. Besides, you're the one who stated "unable or unwilling", not the OP.
Are you always this argumentative, or is this my lucky day?
Many people suggest upgrading to Office 2011. I do it frequently in my other "workarounds" type of answers to the Rosetta in Lion/Mountain problem.  I chose not to offer that solution here, and as I expected, someone else, namely you, did!
The problem was that you finished your suggestion with this comment: "Particularly when it isn't really necessary."  Since this statement was not true in my case (it IS necessary for me to continue to use my important Excel 2004 file as well as some other historical files I have; and conceivably could be important to the OP), I posted the correction.
You also made the suggestion that: "...the cost of VM software isn't that much less than just upgrading to Office 2011." While certainly true in the vacuum of the OP asking specifically about Word 2004; when the OP becomes aware that his complete library of PPC applications will fail in Mountain Lion, your suggestion about the relative cost to upgrade may no longer be as relevant.
Lastly: Yes, I commonly state to similar OP's that if they are "unable" (because, for example, they may also have conversion problems with Office 2011, Appleworks 6, Freehand or other programs) or "unwilling" (perhaps they just cannot afford to upgrade all of their PPC apps at this time), that here is an alternative that will keep the status quo available to them, and buy them some more time to consider their options while continuing to use Lion/Mountain Lion and their PowerPC apps.
Is the relevance of my post to the OP's problem (and your reply to my solution) sufficiently clear for you now?

  • Sync a new iPhone with iTunes

My computer already installed the latest iTunes.
When plugged in an old iPhone, iTunes immediately recognized it and can do sync.
When plugged in a new iPhone, iTunes cannot recognize it.
Tried logout and login with the right AppleID, but still does not work.
    Versions
    iTunes     12.1.0.71
    iPhone 6   64GB
    IOS          8.1

    Howdy lamsps,
It like one phone is not recognized in iTunes on your PC. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article for that one phone:

  • Mt iPhoto library has disappeared from my laptop after syncing my new iPhone with the laptop. I now have a new iPhoto library with no photos. I have tried pressing option when opening iPhoto but I only get one library option and can't find my old one

My iPhone4s was recently replaced by apple due to grey out on wifi. when I went to sync with my laptop my iPhoto library disapeared and I was left with an empty library. I cannot find my old library on my laptop. I only get one option for a library when i open iPhoto while holding down option key. I am worried I have lost all my photos. there seems ot be no iPhoto library on my iCloud either.
    Any suggestions?

Syncing with an iPhone should not delete the iPhoto library on your mac. It only will upload photos to the phone (iTunes sync) or import (connecting by USB). How did you sync your phone?
TD, do you know of any way, that a sync could delete an iPhoto Library on a Mac?
You may have opened a wrong library or may be working from a different user account. Are you using the same user name and Apple ID as before?
How have you searched for iPhoto libraries? Have you searched with Spotlight?
Each iPhoto library contains a file called "Library6.iPhoto" - even if your iPhoto library should no longer be recognisable as photolibrary, this file should be found:
Type "Library6" into the "Spotlight" search field in the upper right corner of your screen, like this:
When you see a list of files, select one of them and hold down the key combination ⌥⌘ to reveal the path to the file.
If Spotlight cannot find the file in the packages, use "FindAnyFile"  http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile

  • Unable to sync brand new iPhone 4

Having just bought my iPhone 4, I tried to connect it to my PC. I updated to the newest version of iTunes, iPhone software is on 4.2.1.
When I try to connect to my PC, I get the same error saying that it can't connect to the iPhone. It recognises it, and it shows in the left menu, but won't allow me to access any functionality (load songs, etc).
When I try to "Restore" the setting from iTunes, it continually says it can't connect to the server, unless I disconnect the iPhone, but then it fails saying that it can't complete the process.
    Any suggestions?

Try turning off, disabling or uninstalling all anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-anything and any and all firewalls.

  • Can't do all my edits in one layer like I used to PS CS3 something happended after I synced my new iphone

    Hello.
I do not know what happened but I used to be able to take a photo from Lightroom 2 and do any minor final edits in PSCS3 and do them all right there on the image that would open up.  I don't need to or want to do layer upon layer for the minor changes that I am doing, ie: remove telephone wire, or gum on ground plus a little dodge and burning.  Now that I have to do a new layer for each thing I need it has become a nightmare and is sucking up my editing time. How do I get PS back to where I can do this all in one shot?  I view my image with Legacy and sample with all layers - oh for example if I go to clone something and it is not the new layer I get the colors of orange and grey that come up from where I use the tool.  I am on Mac OSX 10.5.7 and all was working fine until I synced my new iphone with the computer.
    Thanks for your help.
    Julien

  • Can you merge Iphone data from a new iphone with an old back up?

I am looking for some advice.
I recently had my my iPhone and my MacBook Pro stolen at the same time. Fortunately I managed to get a new iPhone on my insurance which I received before I bought myself a new MacBook. I resorted my MacBook from a back up I kept separately. I wan't to sync my new iPhone with my previous iPhone data held on my iTunes. I would like to do this without loosing the SMS messages, apps and data held on my current iPhone. The other issue is that my new iPhone has a newer version of iOS then my previous iPhone.
Is it simply a case of just plugging my phone into iTunes and it will automatically sync the data and merge them or will I have to so something else to merge the two accounts?
    Thank you in advance,
    Best Wishes,
    Jamie

Sorry, you can't do what you want. The restore from backup process is all or nothing. Yes, you can restore from your previous phone's backup, but you will lose all new data...not in that backup...currently on your phone. There is no supported way to merge this data.
