Unable to sync photos to iPad

Unable to sync photos to iPad since installing iOS 5

Thanks Leonie. I removed the iPod Photo Cache and tried again, but still no luck
Is enough space on your device for all photos?
Where is your iPhoto Library stored? In your Pictures folder or on an external drive?
Are the recent photos o.k.? Do they show, when you enlarge them? Can you edit them?
Have you repaired the permissions in your iPhoto Library or repaired the library?  You can repair the iPhoto Library using the First Aid Tools:
Try to launch into the First Aid Tools  by holding down the key combination option-command ⌥⌘ and clicking the iPhoto icon to launch iPhoto.
Keep the two buttons firmly held down, until you are seeing the First Aid panel.
Then select "Repair permissions".
Repeat with "Repair database", if the first repair did not help.

  • TS3697 Unable to sync photos on ipad or iphone 5s unknown error (-50)

I have looked for days at different suggestions but non seem to work.   I have iphone 4s, 5s & ipad 3 and all of them sync except for the photos.  I have tried just syncing one album which has been there a while (not a recent one) and it still has the error message,  Any one else having this problem? any new suggestions please.   I have all the latest updates including my macbook pro.  thanks

I have tried everything suggested - my iphone 5s, iphone 4s & ipad 3 all have the same error when i try to sync photos - if i leave photos off sync they then work ok.
I have found one thing that has worked.   I created another iphoto library and at present have just put 1000 photos in from 2 of my albums.   They all then synced perfectly including the photos in the 2nd library.   It then obviously seems to be caused by the iphoto library not working with itunes.  I will continue to add more of my albums to the new library and see if any problem arises.
My one question would be if and when i have put all my albums & photos into the new library will I then be able to delete the old library without losing any photos from my macbook?
If anybody knows the answer please let me know
    thanks

  • I am unable to sync photos to iPad. My computer shutdown during the photo optimisation process

I am using the latest software and updates on both my iPad 2 and windows 7 32 bit laptop. I have reinstalled the latest edition of iTunes, and yet I still cannot do a synch to my iPad 2 as the computer shutdown during photo optimisation.
I have even reinstalled windows so there is nothing else I can think of.
Does anyone know how I can get photos on my iPad without making windows shutdown... It's driving me mad. Seems to be ok with my iPod and iphone4, it's just the iPad that's causing the trouble. Help me PLEASE!!!

Do you mean crashes (as in some software problem) or turns off completely (hardware issue) ?
If it's crashing then it's a different problem and you'd be better starting a new thread. If it's hardware then the same things apply as have already been mentioned above.
It's clear that iPhoto (at least the Mac version, I don't use Windows) puts a lot of load on the processor - more than most people ever do at other times. If the thermal management is not up to scratch, the processor will overheat, and the machine will just switch off without warning. I agree it's "rather annoying" In programming terms it's the right thing to to, run parallel threads and fully utilise the resources available - you don't worry about overheating the processor since that should not happen in a properly designed and built system.
So check your BIOS settings to make sure any settings there are correct. If the machine is still under warranty then take it back to the supplier and tell them the thermal management isn't right. Other than that, you may have to start investigating the hardware - is the heatsink and fan up to the job, is the headsink properly mated to the processor, and so on. I'd not suggest getting into this yourself unless you know what you are doing - find someone that does since it's easy to make matters worse.
As I mentioned above, at first I was doing photos in small batches (or or two events or folders at a time) and allowing the processor to cool down in between (you need a utility that will tell you the core temperature to do this). This is a right PITA though. Then I found there is a utility in Apple's dev tools for turning off cores for testing - turning off a core made things run more slowly but meant that the processor didn't overheat and I could just leave it. It may be worth looking in your BIOS and/or OS to see if there's something similar - or a means of turning down the clock speed.

  • Unable to sync photos to my iPAD

I am unable to sync photos with my iPad.  Both computer and iPad have the most recent updates.  Only a few photos sync.  I have plenty of memory.

Nothing more to add other than what you mean is that you have plenty of storage capacity. If you truly have plenty of memory - you should remember this from now on ...memory would be the RAM and storage capacity is the amount of space available on the device for you to add apps, movies, books, etc.

spinwheel when syncing, unable to sync photos, error message "the disk cannot be read from or written to" ... please help!

Everytime I try to sync my photos to iPad or my iPhone. The sync freezes for a whilie then comes back with "the disk cannot be read from or written to". I have already exported photo library from iPhoto and readded the photos.

  • Can't sync photos between iPad and Mac OS X since updates

Just updated OS X and iTunes, now got message that "iTunes will no longer sync photos to iPad" - sounds like Apple is trying to force me to pay for iCloud photo sharing. Any way to avoid that? I loved the previous easy sync approach.

    Have a look at this:

I upgraded to lion and now i get an error message saying could not sync photos with Ipad as they can not be viewed on the ipad.  I lost everything when i upgraded and had to reload all my files using a new user. Now i cant sync my photos with my ipad or my iphone.  some come over but only about 10% of the photos.

  • Unable to sync photos from iPhoto to Apple TV

I am using iphoto5.0.4 and am unable to sync photos. I select the photo album and click on the "apply" button which greys out for a while and then reverts. When I click on "my photos" in Apple TV I get the message that "There are no photos on your Apple TV." The ATV is able to stream photos from my Powerbook G4 just fine. When I go to "Screen Saver" on the ATV it is only able to access Apple Photos. I upgraded the ATV software without effect. What am I doing wrong?

On the tv you should have selected 'settings/computers/connect to itunes library', I think you likely selected 'settings/computers/connect to shared library'. You may have to select your current shared library and unlink it before you can set it up properly but I'm not too sure as I've not had to do it myself.

  • Can't sync photos from ipad that I synced from another computer

Can't sync photos from ipad that I synced from another computer... I want to have them on my computer.
Why isn't there a way to do this? I don't get it. Sharing photos is such an important thing I don't understand why Apple makes it so hard to do this.
    OK here is my senario:
Recently went on a trip Hong Kong with someone... we both had iphones and took hundreds of awesome photos. Now we want to share them with eachother. Too many photos for email and I don't wish to upload to flicker/facebook/etc...
This is what I did thinking it should work...
    1) synced photos on her iphone with her computer
    2) synced photos on MY iphone with her computer
    3) put ALL the hong kong photos in one album
    4) connected my ipad to her computer... attempted to copy photos from iphoto to ipad -- NOPE, can't be done (***?!?!)
    5) so I synced the photos (and only the photos) in the hong kong album using itunes to my ipad -- this worked -- all photos now on my ipad
    6) drove home (5 hours away) and connected ipad to my computer and attempted to import with iphoto -- NOPE, can't be done (***!?!?) Won't even show the photos.
    7) itunes wants to replace all the photos on my ipad with the photos from my computer (***?!?!)
How are you suppose to do this?! How are you suppose to be able to share lots of photos with people?

Photos are not copied off the iPad via iTunes.
For photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.9.1)

Obviously, syncing an iOS device with iTunes over USB is still supported in Mavericks. Calendar and contact syncing with iTunes is no longer supported. That has nothing to do with your problem.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

  • Sync Photos to iPad - Windows folder to iPad albums

    Hi,
Would like to ask you, I want to sync Photos to iPad using Windows iTunes. My Photos are organized in folders, will iTunes convert my folders into albums in the iPads after syncing?
    Thanks.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • IPhoto 9.4.3 crashes when trying to sync photos from IPAD running 8.1.  Any ideas on why ?

iPhoto 9.4.3 crashes when trying to sync photos from IPAD running 8.1.  Any ideas on why ?
iPhoto runs and keeps trying to read the iPad photos cycling thru a lot of times eventually crashing.

There may be a corrupted video or image file on your iPad.
Try to download from the iPad using Image Capture instead and save the photos to a folder. If that succeeds, you can check the files for corruption before importing them to iPhoto.

  • Is anyone else having problems with syncing photos  on ipad - seems to be fragmenting the events

Is anyone else having problems with syncing photos  on ipad - seems to be fragmenting the events

Here's the problems I'm having with iPad 2 and iOS 5.1:
Okay ... so, because I had less than a 1 Gig left (as reported by iTunes) on my 64Gig iPad, and the majority of the space was being used by "Photos" ... I decided to not keep my PC photos directory in sync with my iPad (Windows 7). So, in iTunes, I unchecked the option to sync computer photos to the iPad. I got the standard popup warning message that my iPad would not contain those albums after the next sync. I clicked OK and proceeded to sync expecting to have lots of space freed up.
But weird things happened after syncing.
    (1) I still have all my photos on my iPad .... nothing disappeared at all. (And performed multiple syncs to try to force the change ... still nothing has been removed from my iPad.)
    (2) Somehow, I gained 20 Gigs of free space, as reported by both iTunes and my iPad as well.
Anyone know what's going on here?
I do have iMovie and another movie making app, Avid. Both of these contain projects that refer to photos in albums that were supposed to be removed after the sync ... but I can't imagine that would keep them there. Anyone have any ideas?
I also installed the iPad app, iPhoto. I noticed that it build a directory listing and continuously want to update that listing from time to time.
Would any of these things cause the iTunes photo sync changes to be ignored? And, how did I get free space to report back with an additional 19Gig or so, when there's no change at all.
    Unsure what's going on ...
